When I joined I was Bob the Construction Man for whatever reason. Now it’s just Bob, even though that’s not my name or any variation of it. I’ve contemplated changing it to my actual name or to my normal online handle I use everywhere else but I’ve been Bob for over 10 years on EB so it’s not really feasible.

I remember in the original Excalibur Mafia I made CallMePie a neutral investigator for some reason. And I think I let Hinckley come back as a tree stump after he couldn’t contain himself on the deadboard anymore. I can barely remember. I have a terrible memory except for the subject I teach. This game was halfway anonymous for me as well because I forgot who was playing who and often times had to look it up. I’m not the most consistent or conventional host. I’m hoping you’ll all try a better balanced out version in Pirates II, whenever we get around to it in the future after other people have a chance to host games in the interim. It will give me a chance to balance out better and not throw people for a loop.
-
Sure, I'm looking forward to being on the other end of anonymous mafia games. Nobody PM's me anyway.
-
I think a major problem was that I planned this game for 16 people, hoped and prepared for more, received less, and when I rebalanced the game I did it poorly. I'm really sorry if you had a bad time this game. I tried to make it exciting with role madness, and I think that aspect was exciting and that's one that I wouldn't mind including/trying again. The scum didn't like the night kill every other night. The conversion ruined the game for a lot of people. The confusion about what happened in the event of a parity caused a lot of division. I also vow to never have a conversion or recruit in another one of my games, if anyone ever decides to allow me to have another game.
-
Perhaps in the future this is something we can add to the official rules of Eurobricks? We've rarely seen a parity in games like this.
-
Thanks for not having any hard feelings with me! I'm glad you had fun! I was really worried how you were going to react based on what you were saying in the thread. I will make a mental note to permanently remove from all further games of mine the double scum night action tomfoolery. I think this might be the first time in (recent, at least) memory that a parity has been reached, so perhaps we'll have to make an amendment to the official copy paste Eurobricks rules that everybody uses. I still don't remember any game where hosts have mentioned recruiting being in the game though. Maybe it's because recruits haven't been as common now as they once were and I've just got memory loss? You couldn't tell it was def by the occasional slights towards the host? The only way it would've been more obvious is if he brought out towniest of the town. Yes. I mean, sure, she could've blocked a corpse. There does seem to be an error in the spreadsheet. Louisa was not jailed, you killed Joseph that night.

Anyone can post here, in your Eurobricks accounts. --- "So, I guess I walk the plank now, right Captain?" Louisa asked. "Oh for the love of..." The Captain took out his trusty flintlock and shot her. "Well. I'd say that we've won!" Henry said. "Well, not exactly." Patrick said. "I mean, I've won. Or rather, the scum have." "Patrick!" Redbeard shouted. "Say it isn't so!" "Um. It isn't so?" "But you were one of my friends." "I'm sorry, Captain." "There's two of us though, and one of you." Henry said. "I'm just an NPC, actually." "Actually, there's a lot more than one of him." a voice shouted from off camera. The Caribbean Clipper had finally caught up to them. "Arrrr! Captain Not-Broadside! We meet again!" "Yes, Redbeard! Only this time you seem to be missing your crew!" "Well...they're just...below deck. Give them a second." "Prepare to be boarded, Redbeard!" And so, as the Imperial Soldiers secured the mighty Black Seas Barracuda, Captain Redbeard and Henry were led off the ship and onto the Clipper. "You won't get away with this, you bluecoat bastards! I'll get my ship back!" "It's off to the hangman at Fort Eldorado for you, Redbeard!" Not-Broadside shouted. "Well Patrick?" A rescued Lieutenant Barty Brewster, in his uniform said. "Don't you feel like you've joined the right side?" "Yeah." Geoffrey, an ordinary soldier in his uniform added. "You did good these last few days." "..." And so, a sailor removed Redbeard's flag from the back of the ship and tossed it into the sea... ...Replacing it with the colors of the Imperial Guards. It was truly the end of an era in the Lego Caribbean as the formidable Captain Redbeard's vessel was hauled back to Fort Eldorado, with the Captain himself imprisoned in the Clipper's brig, most of his crew dead or lost at sea, and his fortune lost to the ages. Is this the last we'll see of Captain Redbeard? It depends on how savagely this game is roasted. The Surviving Townie: def EDIT: After careful consideration, I’d say despite the initial ruling of a scum victory, we can give this game a semi-draw to the surviving town member def and to the scum and jamesn, who played brilliantly. Night Actions: For those concerned as to why this is a victory for the scum and not a tie, we'll go back to mafia case law. All the way back to the first recorded mafia game with rules, which was Mystery Castle (Western Mafia and Roman Mafia had rules, but nothing about win conditions), it was stated that for the scum to win, they needed to outnumber the town. This has been the standard rule in every Eurobricks mafia since then, with some notable differences in experimental games. In several games, when it's come down to a pair, the scum have emerged victorious. The first example of this was in Baritones II, when Shadows was in this exact situation. A recruited scum who won for the scum. I believe Unrest in the Forest also had this as an outcome, although with a different set of circumstances since Hinckley was a serial killer. Another note, I have never heard of a host telling the players up front that there may be a recruiter in the game. Nobody considered that when they saw Geoffrey target Patrick, and Geoffrey flipped scum, that Patrick may have been converted. Nobody thought to investigate Patrick. You lynched your own investigator. You considered Patrick to be 100% confirmed town without him ever being investigated. As for allowing the final scum to do two actions, this was the tricky bit. It's unorthodox but it has happened in other games. The scum can only kill every other night. They could also janitor every other night, and they also gained the ability to janitor once Patrick was recruited. In addition, Patrick kept his role of jailkeeper. I had envisioned the scum of using their recruit ability earlier in the game, however it turned out fortuitous for them that they did not. Everyone in the game had at least some sort of a role. WhiteFang's coroner role would have been very useful in the later game when all those bodies started to get janitored away. It would've been interesting to see Zepher's commuting role used. I don't blame Zepher for disappearing. He signed up for a game and it took awhile for it to get off the ground. I promised poor mostlytechnic, who was killed Night One, a second anonymous sequel game to this. If there's interest, let me know. Thanks for playing!

Please Only Post in Here With Your Given Anonymous Accounts! That means you, Tariq j... It' --- It was late at night, and Joseph Finch was walking the decks. "I sure am glad all the weapons are locked up now! It means I can walk around safely!" Unfortunately for him, he was wrong, as someone moved the crane holding the heavy treasure chest over him. "What's that noise? Ho hum, better keep on walking." The crane let go and fell on poor Joseph, crushing and killing him instantly. "Ouch." I said instantly. "Sorry." "Captain." Henry said. "We've come to a complete stop. The three of us can't control the ship on our own. What do we do?" "Aye, we keep on the course. We were unlucky yesterday. Jack Alden was a Loyal Pirate. Timothy, however, I can't tell. His alignment is a mystery to me. Also, last night we lost poor Joseph. He was a Loyal Pirate too. Vote Count: Jack Alden - 5 (Patrick, Louisa, Henry, Joseph, Timothy) The remaining pirate crew had decided to lynch the first mate, Jack Alden. "Captain, you know me, I've been your first mate since we were kids starting out. We're family!" "I know, Jack, but sadly the crew has spoken. You have to walk the plank" "Why didn't you just make me an NPC?" "Arrr...I needed all the Classic Pirate minifigures I could muster." "Well that doesn't seem very fair!" "Just walk the plank already!" Timothy Dixon shouted. "Aha! But I'm not going down without taking someone with me!" Everyone reached their hands to the sky, except for the Captain, who could only raise them to about his shoulders, and who only had one hand. *BANG!* Timothy Dixon fell overboard, shot through the heart with Jack's flintlock, dead. "Well, with that I can make my exit and walk the plank." he said. "Why don't you shoot the rest of us besides Redbeard and be done with it?" "Arr. It only has one shot." Jack Alden then jumped overboard. Captain Redbeard looked over the side to check that his cousin had indeed fallen overboard before dismissing the crew for the night.

Please Only Post in Here With Your Given Anonymous Accounts! That means you, Tariq j... It' --- It's the morning of Day Eight after an uneventful Day Seven... "Arrrr, Captain." Jack said. "We're starting to have some trouble handling the ship." "Oh?" Redbeard asked. "What kind?" "Well. There's only seven of us left, and the two of us don't do any work, meaning there's just five crew, and a lot of them are...adjusting to jobs they've never done before." "I just look at the maps!" Timothy shouts from the wheel. "I don't know how to steer the ship!" "Heeeeeelp!!!!" Henry shouts from the anchor, as he struggles get it up. "Aw crap." Patrick said. "How did we screw this up?" "I don't know how to manage the sails." Joseph replied. "We're just ordinary deckhands..." "Yo Captain." Louisa shouted. "Where's all the weapons?" "Arrr. Good question. I threw most of them overboard and locked the rest of them up in my cabin." Redbeard said. "But, Cap'n, what if we get attacked?" Jack asked. "We've still got our cannons!
