If you are the town blocker or protector please do not reveal in thread that you are the town blocker or protector for the love of god. What kind of a play is this? There's no clues in the pictures. We spent half of the day yesterday wondering whether or not Daphne was the detective because she said off-handedly that we needed to become detectives to root out the scum. I can't tell what exactly your angle is here. I'm really not sure what you're out to accomplish. If you're scum you're making it really obvious. If you're town, you're looking extremely scummy. I just don't know what to make of you.

As a sort of FYI. Not only does it take months for the game to play out, this will take months to plan.Particularly if I want it to be any good. (My previous mystery games were lacking a bit and were not as well thought out) -
I am an open book. Just turn the pages and see what you find! I plan on voting for Tyrion again today. Nothing that's happened has changed my mind on him. In a game this small, there's several reasons there wasn't a kill: 1) A block 2) The scum can only kill every other night 3) The scum killer decided to stay home 4) A protect I'm worried that if there's actually a town blocker or protector, which in a game of ten people there very well may not be, they might be convinced that their action had an effect when it may have not.

General Discussion and Announcements

Coming soon, the latest gimmick in the latest line of gimmicks. Separate from this, I am also thinking of hosting a mystery game. I know there hasn't been one in about...seven years. The last one was Suburbia, which I hosted. I think the only people that are still active today that have played in mystery games are myself, Hinckley, and maybe Sandy. Zepher too, but he seems to have vanished again. I'd only host the game if there was enough interest. Before people express that interest, understand that it is a bit commitment. Mystery games are much different than mafia games. A standard mafia games lasts about a month, sometimes six weeks. Your standard mystery can last anywhere from four to six months, during which time you're expected to be active constantly. That's just one difference. There's often times no characters leaving either. So, you can see why they've somewhat fallen out of favor. So, signal below if there's any interest in a mystery game, and I'll bring it forward for approval. Or sort of ask for approval here as well. Or if nobody is interested then not even bother! -
Here what? I'm not going to just vote for someone when I don't properly understand the rationale behind it.
-
I think all your memes and what not are just a guise to hide the fact that you're actually scum. How much time is left in the day? Can I repeat my vote for you to try and draw attention to it? Why is everyone acting so weird this game? Is everyone scum except for me? No, Daphne wasn't scum. Is everyone scum except for me and Daphne? Trekkie is talking in memes. Sir Stig is speaking bonkers nonsense. Hinckley is saying that he's voting for people for dumb reasons. I don't understand Jimmynick's vote. Sandy is the wrong character from Star Wars. I guess that's not a reason to be scum. What's going on? Someone help me.
-
Once again it seems as though you're jumping onto a lynch without any justification for it. There's still plenty of time left in the day. There doesn't seem to be any urgency to get a lynch through. Care to explain why you're voting this way?
-
There's been several jester's but they're rare. Mostly people like to bring them up when somebody is acting irrational or weird.
-
I don't believe for a second that in a game this small there's a jester. I'm very sorry if I'm metagaming a tad, but that's just what I believe.
-
I'm so confused. Yes there's been odd statements today, but I don't know if they're odd enough to warrant voting for. I think people are just spouting nonsense. Sure, I could vote for Rafael for voting for me for no reason and then shouting like a ninja turtle, but I'm more suspect of Tyrion for latching onto my vote yesterday.
-
I don't feel as though you cleared it up to my satisfaction. Plus nothing of any worth has been said today. Thanks for spoiling the movie. I hadn't seen it yet. Now I'm definitely voting for you. Any particular reason???
-
Right here! I'm completely clueless as to why you think that I'm scum and why you've kept your vote on me even though you say your reasoning is dumb. For whatever reason, even though I said detective in an offhanded comment, I must be trying to draw out the actual detective??? Huh?? I don't honestly know what to make of it. Everyone's voting today is strange. It seems that people are voting for other people simply because they're voting and they don't like the way that they are voting. I, however, think I am going to vote for how somebody voted yesterday. Vote: Tyrion Lannister / Trekkie99 I stated earlier how I was unsure why he followed me on the lynch on Newt for absolutely no reason other than "we need a lynch." To me, I find that rather scummy. What do your elf ears hear??
-
I sincerely hope that Chromeknight was not revealing himself as the detective with that comment just because I made some fluff day one comment about us needing to be detectives. If Chromeknight wanted to connect with me somehow as the detective, wouldn't it have made more sense for him to have done it through PM? We can PM in this game, right? Other people seem to be doing it, so I'd assume so. To be completely honest, I'm not sure what people expected on Day One. I picked quite possibly the weirdest reason to vote for someone because I had absolutely nothing else to go on. Why he then followed me on that lynch is beyond me. He claimed that he wanted to "achieve a lynch", yet he voted for someone that had only one vote on them with a stupid reason for it and didn't give any reason for why he felt that it was a good idea. Yesterday was rather useless. Nothing of consequence happened which isn't good for Day One. With only ten people, perhaps it was a good thing that we didn't lynch anybody. I know in the past I'm a proponent of a Day One lynch, so perhaps that's hypocritical. Daphne voted for Tyrion yesterday, perhaps that's something to look into?

What kind of a monster just keeps a body stood up? I as well felt like the day flew by. There's (unfortunately) only ten people in this game. One is dead, and two are likely scum, which leaves seven town left in the game. Yes, I know that I could just be stating obvious stuff here, but I feel it needs to be said. Regardless, speculation is always important. We've had our fun Day One votes. I voted for Newt because of his name. But today we'll have to try to vote for someone based on a reason. We'll just have to watch out for one.
-
Honestly, fair enough. I better live up to that reputation. Vote: Newt / KotZ I don't trust anyone who is named Newt.
-
That's an awfully stupid reason...
-
Aw shit, the mafia is here? That's what this means when you say we're "playing mafia" right? I've never played a mafia game before, only werewolf. Well, pack it in everybody. I'm not sure I'm into having a party with some mafiosos about. We should call the police. Or the FBI. Or a detective. No? Well, I guess we'll have to be our own detectives. Everyone, what did you bring and where did you get it? Did the mafia supply it to you? I want answers.

The Forest Mafia Conclusion—You Played Your Cards Well
Bob replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I’ll rephrase what I said because even though we argue a lot in every mafia game we play in, I think you’re a good friend to me. I wasn’t calling you out specifically when I said certain people, quite a number of people were upset at the mechanics of Pirates. Even jamesn expressed his concerns about a shitstorm brewing when the game was over when people found out about things such like the recruit and double scum night action. It might not look it, but I do understand your position very well. I like trying new things and experimenting with every mafia game I host, but I also take feedback from the players in the previous game, which is why I’ll be fixing a lot of the concerns people had and clarifying things in the rules. I’m hoping you don’t retire again because I think you’re a damn good mafia player. I’m also hoping you’ll participate in the sequel to Pirates which will take place later on this year. I want people to host between now and then so there’s not three anonymous games in a row. Plus I’m looking forward to Cosplay 3. -

I'm glad the confused final townie routine made a comeback though. This from the Forest 2 was my favorite scene for quite awhile: -

Honestly I thought Tariq had died very early on in the game, because I don't think I saw him post in his Eurobricks account once. Ah shit I thought you were def. -

As for the last scum getting two night actions, well, I think that's just plain wrong. What kind of a host would do such a thing? -

I kind of gave away on the deadboard who I was, but I'm Ember Elephant. Hi, hope you all enjoyed my song. Hosting the previous anonymous mafia game gave me a bit of insight as to who was who, although I was a bit wrong. I tried not to really think about it. We did a good job in the masonry together. It took a lot of courage for me to trust you, since I've had very bad experience. As I said on the deadboard, I wouldn't feel bad at all. I would have been in the exact same position you were in on that last day, believing that I was the last townie surrounded by scum. If Whitby had killed you and let me alive, we probably still would have lost. As I said, it's easy for the dead to think it's very obvious because they know the entire game and layout post-death. So if you're thinking that you lost the game for us, please don't. -
The Forest 3 Mafia Confirmation & Discussion Thread
Bob replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Witch Hunt Mafia was my second game on Eurobricks and it's one of the ones I remember most. He was my inspiration to try and mess around with different host mechanics and making weird games. Devastated to hear his passing.
