I don't think that UK ebay pirate stuff is a lot cheaper than somewhere else. It may seem that because the value of dollar compared to Pound is really low. Lets see for example 5 dollars is only 2.5 Pound. People just often don't remember how weak dollars value has gone from what it was some years ago. I live in Finland so we have Euros here. I remember the time when dollars exchange rate to euro was about 1:1 Now it's only 0.64 so US Bay auctions seem to be really cheap for us living inside EU So how low the price seems to be depends where you live. US bay prices certainly are freaking cheap for europeans but for people in US that's not the way

Yes that's true. Maybe It could have four support stands to keep it up when on ground.. I think that would look okay as well. But then again, that ship would be more like decoration than for playing, except when in water

I gave 4. When I was young I always use to dream to get that set, but It was too expensive then. Now that I'm 24 year old, I finally made my childhood dream true and bought it from ebay. What still catches my eye, is the bombastic look of it. Colouring of this ship is so great and I love the color of sails too. Cabinet is pride and joy of this ship. But now that' I'm Adult fan of legos I cant help feeling a bit disappointed how lavishly lego used the space on it. I think with minor changes 6 cannons would have definetely fit in. And if Lego would have done it a bit higher it could have included own small cabinet's for the crew. It's funny how differently you look these things when you're an adult. Cause if I'd be child again I'd definetely gave it 5 stars I think :)

What I'd like to see, is definetely something new: A Ship that actually is BIG and still floats. Maybe with big and deep base parts and using weight-pieces that could be possible :)

Actually, I've decided to take those fences away from the front. They were supposed to be like a net old boat had Thanks for the tip, I'll edit the pirate word out, but i need a moderator to edit the header and take the word pirate ship out ;) I'll update the photos soon

If I'd have to choose between these two, Red Beard Runner it would be. I don't dig the good guys ships, and as RBR is longer ship it has more modification value than Clipper I think

Yes I believe they're returning, but I think worse than even before :( I don't think lego's gonna go back to that traditional look BSB or SES had more like into Red beard runner style and maybe they add more colours so it looks like a patchwork quilt in the sea

I live in Finland and got my BSB via UK ebay, the package arrived in 4 days so that is fast! Postage charges are also cheap if both if both seller and buyer live inside EU

I finally got my first BSB, my childhood dream came true! Now after building it's time to write something about it I absolutely love that color scheme on it! Cabinet with it's windows looks so nice Altough i'm a bit disappointed. I think lego could have used the space more efficiently so 6 cannos would have fit, or then make something else from that space. Also I think that ship definetely needs more details Overall, I think BSB is much better than SES. WITH ALL RESPECT to SES lovers I think the coloring of it is looks bad. Green flacs in pirate ship, camon! And those doors, that's what i think makes SES like a toy ship. Doors look all too sweet for pirate ship, and they belong to lego's city sets. And what's that steering wheel going through cabin's roof? And that upper stand is way too smal for ship big as that. Only good thing in SES are those four cannons, they rock! So, both BSB or SES is not exactly how I would like ship to look like, so I must create my own one :)

After twelve years, my childhood dream finally came true, I got the Black Seas Barracuda! ordered from ebay used, too bad small pieces missing altough seller said it includes all pieces. Anyway here's one pic from it just after building I'm a bit disappointed about the desing, I think lego could have added much more details into that and use the space more efficiently. But i must say i love the color scheme of it! So, my next project is gonna make a big MOC ship and now i have parts needed for that ;)
