As a follow up to my MNU Technical, I figured I needed the Prawn suit to get in a fight with it! Mondayn00dle put up a huge challenge to all builders building these suits when he posted his mindblowing version of the exo-skeleton So I was slightly hesitant about building one and trying to follow up what is pretty much the perfect Prawn suit... Features full leg and arm articulation, and has the ability to fit one scruffy looking Wikus van de Merwe. District 9 Prawn Suit. by Lego Junkie., on Flickr It also has the ability to open to show the full seated minifigure. District 9 Prawn Suit. by Lego Junkie., on Flickr

Cheers mate! I'd highly recommend the movie, but do be prepared for some excessive and explodey over the top violence! Thanks! it was quite a fun build to get all the little details just right, as well as fitting in four full minifigs! Don't give me ideas! My building schedule is already full! I did indeed! Some people may call that cheating Suspension, but it's such an amazing piece that I can't help but use it!

So after watching District 9 a couple days back, I was pretty inspired to build one of the MNU technical trucks as seen in the film. After a bit of a rough start, a couple WIPs that didn't really go anywhere, and plenty of redesigning, I've got a version that I'm happy enough with to post! The lack of good District 9 MOCs is quite disturbing, I can really only think of three. So here's one for the mix, good or bad! Has a cabin that fits four full minifigures with all their limbs, working doors/tailgate, and working rocker suspension. MNU Technical. by Lego Junkie., on Flickr

So after seeing Ochre Jelly's amazing character models from the show Bravest Warriors, I had to take a stab at some of the other members of the gang! The first logical choice for my character was Chris, seeing as I'll be checking out BrickCon this year, and I know Iain will be there with his character models as well! So first off, the perpetually friend-zoned Chris! Bravest Warriors is now 9000% Sexier in Lego! by Lego Junkie., on Flickr Followed up by the adorable and terrifying Impossibear! Impossibear is still adorable, even in Lego. by Lego Junkie., on Flickr At this point in time, I don't have plans to make any of the other characters. Possibly Danny, but that's still to be determined!

VR Class Dr16 Diesel-Electric Engine. by Lego Junkie., on Flickr Since I like trains, and I've seen some excellent ones around in the past few weeks, I figured I'd have a go at building one! I present to you the VR Class Dr16 Diesel-Electric engine. This type of engine is primarily used in Northern Finland. Seeing as I don't have nearly enough white parts to pull off the Red and White livery, I went with a Bley and Ornj scheme for fun. And because it looks pretty slick as a plus. While it may not look it, this build was heavily inspired by Carter's brilliant Gorgon Mecha that was posted a couple weeks back. Also inspired by the Chubb suits from the MFZ universe. I'm not entirely happy with how this came out, as I got stuck in the building process for days on end. I didn't want to put any bricks on for fear of making it worse than it already was, but I sat down this afternoon and pounded out a back thruster, and streamlined the torso till I was happy with it! Well, that's pretty rad. If you get around to Cuusoo'ing it, post it up here for us to support!

With the galaxy's growing love of the Galactic Asteroid Rally Circuit [GARC], the Space Police Land Division [sPLD] have taken to patrolling planets that the rally races take place above in hopes of catching a crashed racer and it's crew. While not technically illegal, the GARC circuit is the most extreme and dangerous sport in the known galaxy. With over 1100 deaths in a period of ten years, the well loved sport is slowly creeping into the bad books of law enforcement groups. GARC Retrieval Vehicle; SPLD. by Lego Junkie., on Flickr I think GARC is a pretty legit theme, but is it really a legal sport? I decided that it's probably is frowned upon by law enforcement groups. Seeing as I'm not very good at building space ships, I decided to make a land vehicle that could possibly hook into the fictional racing circuit. Features full suspension, spare tire, and pallet of supplies in the back.

I've always enjoyed seeing MOCs from the Harry Potter series, which there's a surprising lack of actually, so I decided to make my own version of the park scene from The Order of The Pheonix. Harry Potter, The Boy Who Lived. by Lego Junkie., on Flickr Partially inspired by Carson Hart's older work in the genre, and partly inspired by the LEGO Harry Potter game. While not completely accurate to the movie, I think it bears enough of a resemblance to be passable.

After the rousing success that was the Portal project, we decided to go for a non-IP related Cuusoo project. Since the FOL community has been clamoring for a Steampunk line from TLC for a while, we decided to try and fill that gap! That being said, I present to you the Adventures of Steamrod! Steamrod on Cuusoo! by Lego Junkie., on Flickr Set in an alternate future where steam-powered technology never fell out of use, this project proposes an exciting set packed full of detailed vehicles and minifigures. The set that we are proposing is designed as a one-off tribute to Steampunk and LEGO's Adventurers characters, so the set is fairly large and includes seven exclusive minifigures. This set would appeal to Steampunk and LEGO fans alike, because of the creative building techniques and pieces used to construct the greatly varied and colorful vehicles. In addition to many desirable recoloured pieces, there would be a mixture of stickers and printed pieces to enhance the details and realism of the set, allowing the pieces to be useful for Steampunk, historic and general MOCs. The story behind the characters of this project is similar to that of the Adventurers LEGO theme, except naturally set in a fantasy Steampunk world, with more dramatic vistas and mystical treasures. Each character would have their own quirks and talents, and there is a clear distinction between the forces of good and evil. The Adventures of Steamrod! by Brickthing, on Flickr The dastardly Lord Sinistree is attempting to steal the Steam-relic! Help our brave adventurers defend the train by firing it's spike missiles from the roof of the laboratory car! Help Professor Articus make potions inside his lab car! (includes drawing board, genie-in-a-bottleâ„¢ and a bar of Ms. Wellworths high protein adventurers chocolate! If all else fails, send Jonathan Bolt to the coal car to make one last stand against the evil Lord Sinistree and his henchmen, the Slybots! Includes seven minifigures; Jonathan Bolt, Abigail Stratus, Professor Articus, Psi-Clone, Lord Sinistree and 2 Slybots. Features Steamrod train with coal car and carriage, helicopter pack, motorbike and plane Features hidden flick fire missiles, secret coal car compartment, and a fully detailed engine room inside the locomotive! Freighter over Ice Planet Biodome - Lt. de Martinet - 1 point, So many wonderful entries to look through for this section of the contest. I'll pass on drooling over the entries I've voted for, since I've already done so on Flickr, or plan to in the next few minutes!

40. Dinosaur extinction? - Cecilie - 3 points. 15. Chicken Moonbase - vecchiasignoraceppo - 2 points. While there were a ton of fantastic entries, these two really stood out to me. I loved the Chicken Moonbase for its adorableness. I'm a sucker for a cute build! And Cecilie's extinction build was just wonderful for all kinds of reasons, that lava flow and the bone cage being two of my favorites. ;D Great work everybody! I look forward to seeing how this one plays out!

Absolutely wonderful work! Heavily reminds me of Avatar, and the combat in the floating rocks.

Hahaha, I guess you're right. At this scale, the grass would be as tall as a three story building. XD Cheers mate!

During a the wee hours of the morning yesterday/today, I had the brilliant idea of building a Strike Witch from the anime of the same name. For some reason, the brilliance of aforementioned idea wore off in the harsh light of the noonday sun. All doubts of the validity of the build aside, may I present to you, Annie Thunder the strike witch. Strike Witch, Annie Thunder. by Lego Junkie., on Flickr

Firstly, if there's an award for bending the rules to the breaking point, then bending them a bit more. I'd totally be taking that one home. That being said... Yes, this entry does fit in a 48x48 square, with no upper limit. The Boundless. by Lego Junkie., on Flickr Yes yes, I know I'm being "That guy", but this contest really pushed be outside my comfort limits and I'm really only in this contest to see the other awesome entries and have fun! Now, enjoy the pictures and the backstory! And feel free to leave a comment telling me what a rule bender I am! ;D The Boundless. by Lego Junkie., on Flickr Pirates. The worst scum of the galaxy. From raiding to smuggling, this vile scum has plagued the outer rim of the Knavelion system for decades. The most fearsome of the pirates clans is lead by Junk E Rasmoid, a terrible fellow who will stop at nothing to get his hands on the best cargo entering his galaxy. The captain overstepped his bounds when capturing a PETA vessel bound for the Salouth starfield. With his furry cargo in the hold, the massive freighter ventured into the blackness of space in search of more prey. The ship encountered a field of gamma radiation that went undetected by the ship's Geiger counter. All seemed well within the mighty freighter, untill the animals struck... The Boundless. by Lego Junkie., on Flickr According to Soren Roberts, one does not become a man until he's built a SHIP. Looks like I graduated from the boys club. This rather large ship clocks in just over the official SHIP mark at 106 Studs long, 34 studs wide, and 32 studs tall. Building it was quite the experience, I must say. I'd say I've got about twenty hours into the build over the course of five days. It's got a fully detailed interior, and lots of cute animals doing devious things. Now I need to go build a stand for it! : D If you're interested in seeing the interior shots, go check out the set for more detailed pictures.

Argh. Just noticed the large size limit. Is 48x48 really as big as we can go? :(

Attack of the Squid. by Lego Junkie., on Flickr Intrepid explorer Hack Barrow and his crew meet their demise at the hands of Navy Bones and his pet squid in this Sci-Fi revamp of the popular POTC franchise. Attack of the Squid. by Lego Junkie., on Flickr Wouldn't you know that I started making a POTC vig for this contest, only to smack myself once the squid was done and think to myself "What an idiot, POTC isn't Sci-Fi!" So I turned it into a space squid.

Cheers guys! And Si, if you couldn't get to him... I feel for you. He was the very first boss in the game! XD

Like a Boss: Grangas; Starfox 64 by Lego Junkie., on Flickr One of the most memorable boss fights for me is the first battle you have with Grangas in StarFox 64. Memorable just for how easy he was to beat, and how stupid his quotes during the battle were. "I'm going to crush you!" Due to the terrible quality of the in-game screenshots, I had to come up with most of the greebles and interesting bits myself, seeing as 8-bit graphics aren't that good for details. Absolutely stunning build. I'm quite envious of your ability to build in such a large scale!
