@brickdoctor: sorry, I actually the poster was showing just UCS sets. But I do of course agree on most sets wheter they are UCS or not. (tie collection is anti-UCS) Last Death Star was a UCS set, right? (please, then I have at least one UCS :) ) But I would think the Ewok Village is UCS.
-
Last Death Star was also a UCS set, while being a big playset too. Even cloud city and the Tie collection are considered being UCS by the Lego Group itself.

Looks great! At first I thought that lighting wasn't all that great, but I gave it a second look and discovered it is brillant! It's a shame you did not include a Yoda's hut, but you can't have everything, right? :) Do you have a complete build of that x-wing too? - just out of interest. Question: where is that lever for on the far left of the first picture? Lights? Edit: I like the detail of the sitting Yoda, is that your own design?

Always when I have a new version of a minifig, and too much old ones, I just pretend it's a commander/commando :)
-
Wow! That looks really great! It almost looks like an official set. I can see you have put much effort into this! I'm hoping too see your other MOCs too! Keep building!
-
wow, that does look better! I honestly don't care about the light grey/bley mix. :) (oh, I suggest that you post the new pictures too in the first post, I think there are enough people who are too lazy too scroll down :) )

After seeing thst duel on geonosis image, I REALLY want it. It looks like it can be easily modded with 4 sets!

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
TWP replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
All slopes, especially cheese slopes, are very useful. You could also cover the plate with tiles, and though leave some studs as footprints. -
I mean those, yeah, I think. (4x 4x4 1/4circle bricks --> 8x8 circle brick.) But that images shows that your solution is accurate after all.
-
It's kind of hard too explain. I mean the things day3 3th pic and day4 2nd pic.

Are Star Wars MOC Builders becoming a dying breed?
TWP replied to HJR-Holland's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Sorry, I didn't knew that. But I can't remember having seen a star wars moc on there since a very long time. Anyways, what's not more important than an image of an FRIENDS set? :p -
It wouldn't be too hard to find the techniques out, so you could make your own replica.
-
I think you should first try the UCS and printed version. Probalbly they both look not the right size. After that, I would then suggest to make your completely own cockpit. This makes your moc stand out between other mf mocs, and makes the moc more entirely your own creation! Also, I think the side "corridors", where the exit/entrance is, are not very accurate. I suggest you could better use something else then the 4x4 round bricks.

Are Star Wars MOC Builders becoming a dying breed?

I think we can make people more enthioushiastic for sw MOCing by posting a moc on the EB frontpage. You see many great MOCs on there - except sw. About the thing being good once gives you fame for always - maybe we have to encourage other people's MOCs by all massively posting it's great, so they will post again something else that's even better because they also were given many tips their first build. @deckard: I do sometimes comment on MOCswith saying it is great (because it is), but suggesting too an improvement because something looks not really good, and how it can be improved. But sometimes it is the smallest detail and that makes me look too critic (is that a good word). Sometimes a MOC looks awful, like a three-year-old's build, while I am sure they can do much better. What also may help ( in line with first paragraph), is that certain builders/mods with autorothy, like ACpin or brickdoctor, post a comment with a improvement (just realised tip is something else in english, sorry for above) @cavegod: is it a caloffee transport or mon calamari cruiser? @HJR: a mauroder is not the same as Lego has made, but I guess you already did knew that. -
I really like the inside.
-
Me too! Anyways, this is one of those vignettes that you'd love to have on your desk!
-
I think it's not logic, as the UCS (super) ISD still is in stock. I think it also doesn't make sense that TLG puts the set number and set name on those wooden boxes. Is there anyone who ever came across a wooden box, and did that slso mention item nuber and name?

Probalbly china, as previous may the 4th minifig was too. Polybag exclusive minifigs are mosly from china. But what's the problem with "cheap" ABS?

My problem is time... -
that looks like a fun collection! Did you design the fighter tanks yourself? Suggestion: make the MTT's a lot bigger.
-
Wow, that looks REALLY great, better than I expected. Maybe clones could exit with a cableway, or a similar thing like what lego does with helicopters. Or they could jump out on a trampoline :)
-
I do do that too sometimes, but I think it is cheaper to print a manual once, than buying an iPad :)
-
I think that we will continue too see clone wars sets. Although the show finished, there are some loose story arc that will be able to be seen somewhere. The kids do still like the show, after it ended, and might have some DVD's to look. Not all episodes have been featured on tv in all countries. Dubbing takes time. I believe they are still in season 4 in the Netherlands. Though episodes IV-VI are not anymore in the theatres, Lego still continues to make sets according to those movies. Lego designers did not know the show would be cancelled, so they already designed new CW sets, assuming the show would still continue. For example, they problalbly already have designed 2014 winter wave sets.

Looks nice. I like how you did the cockpit. About the wings, I assume you don't use those plates. In your WIP they look too flat and disproportional. Also, I am not entirely sure about the ship's nose.
