Thank you CopMike, Manatee A has landed in Australia!

Thanks Withacee. For the little tree on the left I used BL part 47501, 'Vehicle fairing 1 x 2 stepped with two pins'.

Here's a way I get to enjoy snow all year round. With a snow dome! LEGO Snow Globe by Brick Blue Wren, on Flickr

I loved the original 10230 and your additions are fantastic! They capture the detail of the other modulars perfectly.
-
I love the sense of organised chaos around the table - which is a common theme in many family homes at this time of year! The log cabin and icicles and tree are also great.
-
I love the interior. This build looks like it would fit seamlessly with the rest of LEGO's WV sets.

Breathtaking! The tonal use of tan and gold makes the viewer focus on the subtle vignettes held within. I really like how you've tastefully combined a number of Christmas symbols and icons.

This is very well done. I love the beer glasses and barrels at the front, the tower roof and the interior floor detail. The colour of the brickwork is very tasteful.

Dress my Exo Suit Mini-challenge - Discussion thread

Whatever the judging outcome, I just want to say that I really enjoyed participating in this challenge. I generally build static structures (houses, sculptures) so trying to work out how to manipulate and decorate 'technic' parts was a totally new experience for me. I also enjoyed seeing what themes everyone came up with. Well done everyone. -
I want two of these sets so I can have enough reindeer and expand the workshop. I bought one in the VIP promotion (that was the limit per person) because I can't wait to build one! I will get the second set in October when I hope there will be a decent promotion in Australia.

Lovely work. The uneven pavement and mixed plate (brick) and tile (roof) colours make it seem very realistic. I visited the UK recently and this reminds me of a 'first home buyer' terrace I saw - I can imagine a very steep spiral staircase inside your model!

Dress my Exo Suit Mini-challenge - Entry thread

Here is my entry, in the Disney Princess theme. My flickr account shows additional photos demonstrating that the suit fits minifigure princesses as well as minidoll princesses. This exo suit is perfect for independent princesses. Features include crystal slippers (so you don't accidently step on any forest animals); speakers to enhance singing to forest animals; a poisonous apple disposal unit; and a couple of bows and arrows (for target practise only - because princesses would never hurt a living creature on purpose). Welcome! Lucky you, being in the home of LEGO.

These are excellent! Steampunk is something I would like to try sometime and your purist minifigures show great character.

Wonderful! That wrought ironwork on the facade is very clever.

Paul B, Jared and kibosh - thank you for sharing. Your sentiments show the LEGO community really is generous. Another great point!

Mechamike, this is a wonderful list! I can totally relate to #7. Robuko, I agree that meeting builders is one of the great benefits of exhibiting. I have found most builders to be very welcoming and encouraging.

Sorry to hear you didn't have a good experience with your LEGO Club, Zblj. I agree that models that move (Technic, Great Ball Contraptions etc) are really interesting for the public and capture their attention - I'm in awe of builders who have the skill and imagination to create them.

I was wondering what motivates builders to display their MOCs publicly. Is it simply the enjoyment of seeing people’s reaction to your building skills/imagination or something more? My builds appeal to a small audience because of my aesthetic (fairytale themes and I love to use pink elements) so they’re never going to be the most popular exhibit. But I love to create something that in my mind is beautiful, challenges my building skills, and hopefully appeals to a few people. Some exhibitors I’ve met build with the sole purpose of trying to attract the biggest crowd, win an award or get blogged about. So I thought I’d put the question out there - what motivates you to display your MOCs at shows?

Which lego hair piece best matches your real hair?
Blue Wren replied to Bingo Little's topic in Community
Friends mini doll teacher. I'm so glad the Friends hair pieces are compatible with minifigs because non of the standard LEGO hair pieces come close. -
