  1. Thank you for the comprehensive commentary on the MBA sets - that is really helpful. As I live in the UK I can hope they may release them sooner here but may dip my toes in and try and buy some sets from the USA.
  2. This may have been asked before so apologies but when is the MBA series of sets going to be sold in Europe?
  3. It is Father's Day here in the UK. For all the chaps out there with children a chance to relax, receive some wacky socks or tie from your kids and indulge in too much food and drink. I had a lovely surprise from my kids this morning - they had bought me the 40054 summer polybag which we all built before a big fry-up breakfast. The perfect start to the day - Lego and unhealthy fried stuff. Has anyone else had a nice Lego surprise this morning? Perhaps adult children have indulged their fathers with expensive new sets or young kids have build their dads bespoke gifts. Let us know what you have received.
  4. There is an article on the Guardian (UK newspaper) website - see link below - with a link to download the research article. http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2013/jun/12/lego-faces-getting-angrier-study http://bartneck.de/publications/2013/agentsWithFaces/bartneckLEGOAgent.pdf
  5. Thanks for all of the responses - very helpful. When i have managed to get the two models hung i will try and post a picture
  6. Hi i am hoping to display the most recent X wing (not the recent UCS one) and Tie fighter models in our new study once we have moved. I was thinking of hanging them from the ceiling in a sort of recreation of the first film's final battle scene. Can anyone recommend the best way of hanging lego models i.e. so that the string/wire is not visible but the model does not suffer any damage over time. I was thinking fishing wire may be okay to use but not sure if it would damage the bricks it was tied around
  7. WH Smiths in Wimbledon has a box. I am hoping the Lego Store at Westfield will have them as well. BTW, The Entertainer in Wimbledon still has a box each of s6 and s7 but nothing later
  8. I'm having a tower building competition at my daughter's birthday party this weekend - i'm thinking of asking this as a question for the 8 year olds for a bonus mark. Of course the supplementary question (for the BBC) should be "How much would the Lego cost to build that tower?"
  9. I picked up the London Westfield November newsletter today and the small print says this set has a £15 value. There is also an offer of a small box to fill from the PAB if you spend £50 in November. Would you be able to combine both offers - get the xmas set and the small box with a £50 spend - or is that asking too much?
  10. The Sun's website has details of their Lego promotion - it runs from Saturday 27th to Sun 4th Nov http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/affiliates/lego/
  11. That's a nice little scene. I just watched RotJ on the Sunday for the first time with my daughters (7 & 5) - they particularly liked that bit!
  12. On a side issue, I picked up the newsletter for October from the Lego Westfield store and from the 26th to 31st October there is a free gift to any children turning up in a Halloween costume. I wondered whether the gift could be the polybag on the TRU poster
