EB Community Castle Build: Discussion Thread
Adam replied to I Scream Clone's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Glad to see I'm on a reserve list. Thanks! However, I'm confused about something in the first post. You state that you think the wall should be 12 bricks high, but below, it says that it should be 6 bricks high. Typo? -
You just did. I noticed a typo in Zepher's title: Did his little lamb. I've fixed it here: Did her little lamb.

EB Community Castle Build: Discussion Thread
Adam replied to I Scream Clone's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I wonder what team I'll be on... you do know I've joined, right? RIGHT?! Anyway, if you haven't already, you should cross the chosen rooms off the list. That way, it's easier to make a decision. -
Strange- for some reason, when I select your link, I must restart the page. I'm sure it's very good, though. If someone could PM me the finished copy... EDIT: Did a quick search and found it. Very extensive!

I'd like to join up to- or, more over, rejoin; my last attempt at this EBRP sucked. Remember dumb old Bleybeard? Didn't think you would. That's why I'd like to start over. I've been reading the thread, but it's taking a while, and a summary would be helpful- though I don't expect one. I know that the extra work put into one would be made pointless by reading the thread.

How did Zorro get his title? It's been changed various times, and in the thread, I don't know which one is being reffered to. EDIT: Is it because he can't spell for his life?

This certainly is a very nice creation, and I love the way you did the tree, but there are some improvements that can be made: 1. The white sand is a good idea, but I think it doesn't quite capture the effect as tan sand. However, since some of those slopes would have to be custom painted to come in tan, I suppose it'd be pointless to change it. 2. Unlike Zuloo, I don't notice any SNOT techniques, but the various chese slopes that stick up look out of place. Perhaps, if they were grey or bley, they could simulate rocks well. 3. The tree is incredible, but by the top, right under the canopy, part of the connecting piece is showing. I'm not sure how to describe it, but if you moved down or extended the leaves, it would look much nicer. 4. How about adding a little blood to the scene? I didn't realize that the soldier was getting killed until I put my glasses on and noticed the tiny cutlass impaling him. 5. Using a technic axle as a flagpole is a good idea, but, being light grey, it blends too much with the sand. I think that using a brown one of these: or a longer black/brown pole like from this Bricklink page would be a better choice for the union jack. Other than that, this is a wonderful MOC!

An excellent entry, but... 1. You could, as nearly everyone has said before me, use tiles to make some parts (such as the water- see Strawberry's post) look much better. 2. Again, uses intricate faces to enchance the scene. 3. You have a bit of a mix-mash of colors- it'll be gray in one area, then you'll have a dark green brick, then a strip of tan. If you want color variation, do it with tiles. 4. No need for the double arch in the last photo. 5. The yellow house looks strangely out of place- especially with the missing roof tile: 6. The whole sene lacks a bit of blood to make the many killings evident. Consider the man with a cannonball through him. He has but a red stud on the bottom of his head. 7. On the same decapitated man, I don't quite understand the concept- you have him getting shot through the stomach and getting his head blown off. Pick one. Also, he should have a clear brick inbetween his head and his body- not a light blue trans one. 8. The paper sails don't look as good as, say, cloth sails. I suggest replacing them. 9. How about placing some jewels and gold beside the upturned crates? That'd look nice. I hope you don't take offence to any of this advice- I mean it to be helpful.

What baddies would you like to see in a new Space Police line?
Adam replied to Adam's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
A new version of Blacktron. Do I have to post an FAQ in the first post? Just wondering. -
3) They're log bricks, generally used to indicate wood. 5) It still is floating- it's just in a slanted position. But thanks for the advice!

Agreed. We're all bickering and it's really taking away from the game- so can we stop arguing and just wait patiently for Day 2 to go up? I'm getting really ticked off and this game doesn't seem as fun as Mystery Castle or the Baritones because some people are ruining it. I saw that coming- it really was too easy to get everyone to suspect Norrington. I even got you to kill Lego12! Well, sort of. Now, let's return to this game, please, and stop talking about the Baritones.

Thank you for the coments! I've decided to make the water blue with white plates around the swimming salior and and keep the wall the same. I think I'll have the shot sailor lying down with trans red studs instead. On second thought, maybe he should just be decapitated.

Informative! I must admit, the two different halves thing was corny, but it was the only way to get out some important imformation about my character. SPOILER ALERT: If the possibility is open, I'll reveal more. -
Vig. 33c I'm still tinkering with parts of this creation, but I decided to post a WIP thread so that I could gain some potentially helpful advice. Dance, lass! Ever see one of those western movies where a gunslinger starts firing his guns at another person so that the start dancing? Well, that is what this creation is based upon. It depicts a pirate raid in which this scurvy dog has shot a sailer's arm and forcing a port maiden to dance. From a different angle, we have a look at the shot sailor: A scared villager has jumped into the water to avoid certain pain, taking his gun with him: And now the cast: My main concern (or, at least one of them) is the wall section: It's supposed to be the side of an Inn/Tavern and I can't quite combine tan and brown to get a good looking wall. That's one of the multiple reasons why this is still a work in progress. Thoughts and advice would be welcome!

Great MOC! I like the use of the log bricks for the hull. However, there are some things you can improve upon: 1. The tiles on the floor are too many different colors, I suggest going with only two or three. 2. The pirates would look better with torsos to fit the theme. 3. I suggest finishing off the mast. 4. Add some tiles to the edge of the hull so that the studs of the log pieces don't appear. But a great creation, to be sure!

No, they can't. I specifically specified that all voting for Blacktron III should vote for "Blacktron". Did you even read the first post or do you just post to boost your ranking? -

Dark Sword Ragnarok only wanted his 214 as a side character- so far, he hasn't appeared. Jim was supposed to put him in (though I did, accidentally- that post has been erased). Also, a reminder as to my character: ... With Indy's pouch. Remember, this is what you use for Felucia! Also, for anyone who doesn't have that head: Use MacK's head. For anyone who doesn't have the torso: Use a similar one. EDIT: The pouch section should be on ADAM'S LEFT. Looking at the picture, this would be on the right. Also, I think Jim was supposed to contact Da_Death_Star. EDIT 2: I agree with Oky Wan- why would you know choke and lightning? Those are traits of sith. Not Jedi, young padawan. -
I also find this somewhat offensive to me, as I am a good friend of Charles and Joan. I think that I would have noticed something more than his arrogant attitude, and so far, I haven't seen anything convicting enough. There are certainly more suspicous people- what of Mustafa? Perhaps he knows who bought each item? This should be true.

Hello, pr0visorak! Is it okay if I don't use your torso, just a regular one with yellow arms? I don't have that one. -
We all hate despise loathe don't care about like you too! I'll await more evidence before I convict Charles... I want to be very careful. I'm going to survey all of my notes on today (a.k.a. re-read the thread) and see whether or not I should cast a vote towards Charles.

You've created a very nicely built entry, but I'd like to point out some issues that may prove as a learning experience. I don't mean to be rude with these comments, for I'm just trying to give you some advice. 1. I think that the chained skeleton should have some clothing (such as a hat) to convey which side he is on- the soldiers or the pirates. 2. That same skeleton would look better if he had a regular skeleton face, like other dead pirate with coins all over him. 3. Place yellow tiles atop the yellow plates to fix the sand problem. 4. Yes, as Strawberry has said, put some tiles on the great little fort. Light grey, brown, or dark grey, I think, would look best- mainly the greys. 5. The red epaulette in the water probably should be put on someone or removed. Perhaps it could go on the bottom of the head in the water (once you change it to an angry one)? 6. You might want to remove the wave aspects of the water. 7. Choose one or two types of foliage for the tree- not four. Other than that, this is a very good MOC!

In light of our scrambled opinions, I've decided to take the most reliable route- vote: witches.

Of course everyone has to make a living! That wasn't the point! The point was that Mustafa shouldn't have any piece of parchment with witch-related origins! Of course everyone has to make a living! What about my new outfit? We're on Felucia! Not some desert planet. So why is the ground tan? EDIT: My character also has Indy's pouch.
