  1. Stumbled across a few rumors of a planned "new" UCS Falcon in 2014/15. Wouldn't be surprising if LEGO did a re-release of a large scale Falcon since we know the ship is returning in Episode 7. That said, the YouTube video below clearly shows a large scale falcon that doesn't seem to be any kit I'm familiar with. I find the blue elements to be interesting - perhaps in line with some coloring on the Falcon in Ep. 7? I'm sure many of us w/out a 10179 would jump at the chance to own a Falcon. If you already own 10179 would you ever consider buying a revised version, perhaps one modeled after Episode 7? Perhaps this is a custom build done just for this "dream room" and I'm being way too hopeful :) I thought this would make for a fun discussion - thanks. Groove Bricks talks of a UCS Falcon rumor: http://www.groovebri...2014early-2015/ This Brick Link post also discusses a new UCS Falcon rumor. http://www.bricklink...e.asp?ID=796026
  2. Utterly amazing!! I honestly had to look closely to ensure it was made with LEGO as the build is just that amazing. You have an amazing talent - job well done!
  3. Hi, I'm just curious if anyone has come across a stand mod for 10215? I'd like to put it in more of a flight mode (i.e angled / tilted) at some point :) Thanks
  4. Thank you TWP, that looks like the piece, appreciate your time!
  5. Hello Everyone, I've never done any MOC or MOD work before. That said, I own LEGO 7181 and am going to attempt to replace all the blue with old dark gray. I want to also attempt to utilize Draganb's building technique when it comes to the gray "border" around each wing section. If you look at Draganb's picture below, there is a 2x2 black plate followed by a 2x8 black plate, slightly above it appears a short section of gray border trim (referring to the border section that uses two 1x2 with horizontal clip (part 63868) with 1x2 tile and 1x4 tile to make the outer edge of the gray trim. It appears this section anchors to the wing section somehow, providing support for the rest of the trim heading in both directions. I'm not well versed enough to figure out how this portion of the trim connects to the wing. If anyone can help, I would really appreciate it! Draganb - I PM'd you as well :) Thanks in advance to anyone that takes the time to help me out :)
  6. I actually own 2. They briefly went on sale here in the U.S. earlier this year for $299 and I couldn't pass it up. I have one built and on my desk (it's a large desk) and I think it looks amazing. I appreciate and understand the critiques on the model. I'm just a guy who loves Star Wars and loves building LEGO. I also love coming to this forum and seeing all the amazing work people do. That said, I don't make my own MOCs and every LEGO Star Wars UCS I own, despite flaws that people point out, I think is fantastic. I love my UCS B-Wing, I love my UCS Jedi Star Fighter and I love my UCS TIE Interceptor! They were a blast to build, visitors and friends are constantly blown away by UCS collection since they aren't in the LEGO hobby. If you think you're anything like me I think you'll really enjoy having this model on display for many years to come, it is quite the conversation piece. Unless you are friends with any of the die hard LEGO fans on this site, all your friends and family that see it are going to be blown away and won't ever think to mention the flat bottom :) Also, I don't collect mini figures, they can be sold off for a good amount of money on eBay, I made about $80 just selling the mini figures :) All of my UCS Imperial Shuttle and SSD mini figs were sold via eBay to support my future UCS purchases :) They paid for my B-Wing when it went on sale for $100 here in the states :) Regarding an "investment" it will be interesting to see how this set appreciates after it's retired. Most people on the forums seem to think it won't go up that much. If you hold on to it long enough though, surely you can sell it for a little profit - I don't see LEGO ever doing this set again :) Lastly - if you keep it long term and ever want to take on a new project, you can MOD it like many have done here :)
  7. Just to be clear, the instructions for sale have the first version of the wings, not the larger updated wings? Anyone think LEGO will ever release a UCS TIE or TIE Bomber?
  8. Hi Spacepilot3000 - it looks like this thread hasn't been touched in awhile, hopefully you notice this. Have you ever created instructions or have an LDD file for your TIE Bomber? I'd very much like to build my own, I'm in love with your work.I'd be more than happy to pay for the instructions as well. Thanks.
  9. I just wanted to respond to this comment - I own the UCS SSD and it is Rock Solid! Super sturdy, very easy to pick up and move around - just VERY long. I posted above, but once again this MOC is simply amazing.
  10. Seeing this post for the first time. Amazing work, I almost like it more than the UCS SSD that I own. This should / could definitely be an official LEGO release and needs instructions badly!!! Put in the effort and I'm sure you could make some good $$ selling them for $5-$10 - people would be happy to pay you for the time you spent making them. Great work!!!!
  11. I don't have any feedback other than to say it looks amazing and I look forward to seeing it made with real bricks when you get there, keep up the good work!
  12. You can also consider building Anio's custom "UCS" Slave 1 - he created instructions.
  13. Thanks for the info (and for your time) Into The Blue - greatly appreciated.
  14. Sorry to bump such an uninteresting post, but hoping to learn the max height on stand. If anyone has the time to measure and post I would greatly appreciate it.
  15. Hello, To anyone who owns LEGO 10240 would you mind letting me me know how high the model is from the bottom to the highest point while mounted on the stand? The LEGO store lists the details below, but I wasn't sure if this is just the ship in attack mode or included added height of the stand. Thanks in advance! • Measures over 10" (26cm) high, 20" (52cm) long and 18" (46cm) wide
  16. Thanks Walter. I'm a little confused on your "costing a pretty penny" comment. Color of the part doesn't matter, and I see it in black for just a few cents from many sellers: http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?itemID=789&colorID=11 I just wanted to see if I am missing something? Also, any details on what 6L vs 6.6L means? I'm assuming this describes the length somehow?
  17. Hello All, For anyone that has built 10227, you certainly know that the rear of the cockpit mounts using a 2x2 plate and is prone to falling off. It appears that if part # 4538721 was longer, it would help secure the rear of the cockpit. http://www.brickset....s/?part=4538721 Is anyone aware of a longer version of this part? Secondly, maybe anyone out there has taken a different approach to securing the rear of the cockpit? Lastly, anyone out there have any additional 10227 mods you've performed that you'd like to share. There has to be a better way to secure the lower gun pod. As for the gaps between hull plates above and below the engines, not sure that is fixable. Thanks
  18. To the OP, have you completed any of the mods you mentioned in your write up yet,if so can you share them?
  19. I'm in the U.S. and just called my local LEGO store. She confirmed the 50% off the B-Wing! I asked her how many she had in stock and she said "more than I can count"! I'm thinking the U.S. is just a little flooded with these things right now and they need to off load them. I asked her how many per customer (it was my hope she would say 1 per customer) since I hate re-sellers, she did say 1 per customer (I hope this ends up being true). I hope this ends up being true.
  20. My only guess is they shipped too many B-Wings to the U.S. and they haven't been selling so from a geographical perspective they need to offload them. Perhaps in Europe they didn't stock as many or they sold better there? I've seen on other threads there is a (rumored) limit of 3 B-Wings per customer. If this is true, I think this sucks, the aftermarket guys are certainly going to buy 3 at $100 a piece if all this ends up being true. How much does it cost to ship something like a B-Wing to Europe from the U.S., surely it is quite costly? (was just thinking if a European had a U.S. friend who could buy / mail).
  21. Hello, I came across this video: You'll see that the builder is using water (or some type of solution) to very cleanly apply the cockpit stickers to 10240. Does anyone have any experience using this technique or potentially a URL to more details? Thanks
  22. Agree with all the UCS comments, it seems a dated term that LEGO has moved away from. All that said, here is hoping for another highly detailed exclusive Star Wars vehicle of some kind in October 2013. I missed out on so many great ones in previous years, I need more!! I just finished the SSD and I need a fix, May can't get here soon enough.
  23. Remind me, when did they announce the B-Wing last year? That way I can set my heart on a future date and announcement :)
  24. Wouldn't an Ewok village be more of a play set versus a UCS set? If it did turn out to be UCS Ewok village I'd be majorly disappointed as I am hoping for more SW vehicles we haven't seen yet (OT or PT for that matter). That said, if there are lots of people out there who want a UCS Ewok village, I'd be happy for them :) Would give me time to catch up and get R2-D2 and the B-Wing :) A UCS TIE sure would look good next to this year's UCS X-Wing though!!!
  25. Hi Guys - anyone spotted any rumors for the Oct. 2013 UCS release yet?
