Uses 100% LEGO pieces. It traveled over 400 miles in the back of my ute to be setup and displayed at Brickvention 2012 Melbourne Australia. I wanted to make an old wooden styled coaster which meant big dips and no loops. It took ages to get the transition right. I had to record high speed video to find out why it crashed at certain sections. The hardest part was the chain lift. It is difficult to make the chain bend at the pickup zone. I ended up using more of the blue train rails as a guide http://www.youtube.c...bed/kO6oa7KvsEM A fun project that killed a lot of minifigs during testing.

Working Dodgem Cars
pe668 replied to pe668's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
It might be a little hard to tell but there is actually a 2nd chain underneath that distributes the load. So there is actually two drive points along the long chain with the magnets.- 14 replies

Yes it was at BrisBricks, BrickExpo and Brickvention this year. Standard LEGO magnets like those used in the 9volt trains and also the SW star destroyer.- 14 replies

For sale, perhaps one day. First it needs to get votes, lots of votes, on Cuusoo. This build has stayed much the same as when I created it a few years back on a rainy Sunday afternoon. If you would like to buy your own set then help get this happening and vote now. Working Dodgem Cars - Cuusoo

With 1/2 this set comprising of Technic pieces I figure this was the best place to post. This build has stayed much the same as when I created it a few years back on a rainy Sunday afternoon. The good news is it's up on Cuusoo now. If you like the design then why not give it a vote. Working Dodgem Cars - Cuusoo

I thought building a skull would be a lot easier. Several weeks and many attempts to get this far. -

Nice one Captain looking good. The brick street with the classic sets is a nice touch. Still a bit to go I would imagine I look forward to seeing it in a month or so.

Does it have to? There was no mention of being part of a loop. Stations can be end of the line. Besides over 10+ straights one stud out won't be an issue so just join it back up at the other end.

Points do not have to sit parallel to the straights. Here is another option which spaces the lines are little wider. Or this

MOC: Airbus A380
pe668 replied to reload's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I edited the video footage I took at Brickvention and it's now up on YouTube. There is a section on the A380. I would have liked to get more closeups but there was a wall of people around it all day. -
It may have taken awhile, you have been talking about building this ship all the time I have known you, but well worth the wait. Your photography is getting much better and just in time to give this awesome MOC some special treatment. Very nice work Captain!

MOC: Airbus A380

Super job on the build, it looks fantastic. I was fortunate enough to see it "in the flesh" so to speak at BrickVention. Pictures do not do it justice. I did take some video but it may be a week or two before that is edited and up on youtube. As for the servo's, try using a technics worm drive (screw cog). It allows for smooth precise motion but also has the advantage of not being easy to unwind. It effectively means it is easy to turn from the motor end but hard to turn from the other so it will hold a lot of weight. Anyhow, I love your work Ryan, all those plates on the wing..........insane. -
MOC: Technic Motorcycle

Great design. I also found the explanation an interesting read. -
Nice work it is already looking fantastic. The only have one suggestion. The right engine I like the most due to the length. I would make the cariage and other engine to be the same length.

When I read the subject line the first answer that sprang to mind was......TRAIN CRASH. I've tried a few things and the best IMO is carpet tiles. They come in different colours, are really cheap and modular so as you change you table configuration and layout you can re-use them. The carpet really lowers the noise level which is a big plus. Plastic track grips to it fine, this mean you don't need to fix track down. Fixing track to the table is a real waste, the beauty of Lego format is the ability to change the layout. Most people need to purchase track over time (can't find or afford enough to buy it all first). So as more track is aquired the layout can change considerably to maximise track usage. Better than waiting until you have all the right bits, have a working railway on day one. TLC did release a nice Train Shed during the 9volt era(10027). Discontinued now but you may be able to pick it up 2nd hand.

The song really makes this video shine. Very catchy. The giant Sponge Bob although a great build didn't animate very well imo. That doesn't really matter as overall this was a very enjoyable film. Very well done Mr Barati, bravo! -
There is a very good program called "Helium Frog" that is for making stop motion films. http://www.heliumfrog.com/
