Here you go. Has a soldier and a cannon. 4 of these and you're ship should be nice and full. We've got the IFS sitting on a high dresser in front of a lamp in the babies room. Looks very impressive at nighttime when there are no other lights on with the white sails backlit by the lamp. It's a great looking set just as a model sailing ship. Definately a future classic.

Good to see the BSB are fetching a good price still. I've got an original MISB one which has an extra layer of shrinkwrap around it due to a promo where they gave you a Castaway island for free. Cause of this the box doesn't even have shelfwear. I didn't pay anywhere near that price for it, and I've got about 8 others so no reason to open it. Sometimes they're just good to have and there's not much chance of loosing money on a set thats already 20 years old. Propane tank is empty and he's probably set them up there cause it's the only room in the house that would allow him to get far enough back to fit it all in one picture.

You'll get used to it Dodger. There are a lot of know it alls whose opinions are the apparent be all and end all but there are actually a lot of know it alls that do know it all. I sensed the subtle hostility in a few replies but look at it this way. By responding the way they did and saying how easy it was to use the barcode sheets they were simply repeating the same thing they said in the minifig discussion thread, thereby doing exactly the same thing that they are accusing you of doing. This is the kind of double standard you will encounter now and again. It would have been good to keep your thread solely about the benefits of the scanner apps, and have it added to by people who have actually used it and posted about their experiences and any troubles they may have had. Congratulations to Marckeyh for adding that similar apps are available for other phones, information which is both relevant and helpful to the topic. I for one found your information helpful, although it does me no good as the ebay buyers have cleaned out every minifig in the city.

Most of mine are all stored out at the farm in boxes. I filled one of the bedrooms and half filled the shipping container. We pretty much build everything and let the 4 year old play with it for a while till the next new one comes along. It then goes into a high bedroom cupboard and every 6 months we clear the cupboards and take the sets out to the farm. Just did a clearout on saturday. Another 5 ships, couple of Eldorado fortresses and a heap of islander sets plus all the town and technic stuff. We leave all sets and MOC's built, if we run out of bricks for MOC's we just buy more. I use 2 metre long cardboard boxes from automobile bumper bars to store ships in fully built. It's like a little plastic virus that you can't get rid of.

I managed to time my trip home last night to pass by Big W Canberra Centre right at midnight. Pretty pisspoor selection they had though. Nothing on clearance, only stuff that was in the catalogue. No Pig farms at all, no helicopter limo's. They cant have sold out cause I was there when the door went up and reached the lego section before anyone else. Hopefully they've got a late shipment coming in to restock the shelves. -

Do they? My local Big W had the Toy Story train at $159 last week. -

Dunno if anyone else has noticed the Toy Story train in the Big W catalogue advertised at $114. Catalogue says "save $10" but its $159 on Shop @ home. Might be a good pickup if they've stuffed up. -

Just got back from an early morning trip to Meyer in Canberra City. Got the flagship, fire bragade, cargo train, a PF pack , some plush minifigs and keyring minifigs for under $670. Happy with that Meyer1 card does give you an EXTRA 10% off at the register and city store had a fair bit of stock of all the bigger stuff. -
Awesome Moc. Looks extremely realistic, not to mention has nice functionality. Should look great with the farm sets.

Absolutely positively undeniably awesome. Love the way the guy removes his hat, wipes his brow and then puts his hat back on.

What are you talking about? 7566 is on Lego shop at home right now and has been for a couple of weeks. I'm going to stock up in the next couple of days. My 4 year old has been picking up every coin in the house and putting them in his moneybox waiting for the space shuttle to come out. -
The only solution I can think of would require the Moc to be slightly longer than a baseplate. Move the half arch pieces apart by 1 stud, allowing you to have a 1x1 brick with hole sitting between them and flush with the bottom of the arches. Then the cheese slope attaches to that the same way you have now. Of course, with this method you could then use an inverted 1x2 slope if it looked better. I'd also reccomend these If you could buy enough for the windows.

BEWARE: Collectable Minifigures US Online Purchases
FelixTheCat replied to legitimatealex's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The problem with that is that there are a lot of places where you cannot find a shop with them. I live in the capital city of Australia and haven't found any in a shop yet. I know a couple shops that did have them, but only 3 boxes or so and all sold out quick. I did notice that certain ones like the cheerleader were fetching up to $15 on ebay from sellers who had a ton listed and were obviously making a lot of money from the box or so they managed to pick up. -
Has TLG ever borrowed ideas from AFOLs?
FelixTheCat replied to Superkalle's topic in General LEGO Discussion
It's lego. There are limits. There is always the possibility of 2 different minds coming up with a similar idea without any influence from each other. As for the Taj Mahal issue, both parties were attempting to create a perfect replica of a famous building, of course they're going to look similar and have similar elements. Whinging about TLG stealing designs is a classic case of biting the hand that feeds you. Any AFOL doing so should have their collection confiscated and donated to needy children or something. If you want to keep an idea original, don't tell anyone about it. -
I'd try to redesign the model slightly so that all parts were available from Lego. Build the model in LDD and then you can buy them as a set with box and everything from the designbyme website. http://designbyme.lego.com/en-us/Default.aspx

See, I disagree with that statement. As far as I'm concerned its every other MOC and set that has failed to adhere to the "standards" of this one. Awesome stuff teddy. I don't know how you managed to fit so much detail in there. Only thing I'd like to see is a more ornate sign for the cafe. The blocky lettering of Grand Emporium always bothered me. It works on a post office but the Cafe deserves a fancy sign.

9V micromotor would probably be the best one if you're looking for a discreet solution.

Went to Toyworld Fyshwick yesterday. They're all cleaned out of the supposed $2.95 minifigs but they do have the TS3 dumptruck. No other TS3 sets on the shelf. -

Don't forget that we're not all computer programmers with high speed computers, multiple monitors and blistering download speeds. Last time you upgraded the site I had to quit any form of regular browsing because the pages were so slow to load that it just wasn't worth it. Now that I've got a new laptop and Google Chrome it's a lot better but I'd rather put my money into cars, motorbikes and Lego than into constant computer upgrades. 12something x 800 and Chrome -

Pretty sure Myer do price match as well. My missus does it all the time there cause she gets all these extra vouchers when she buys with her Myer card. Another handy trick to know if you tend to get Lego as presents is that Target will exchange an item without a receipt as long as they stock that item. I got $250 worth of Bionicle stuff I couldn't use last birthday. Took it all to target, got a store credit and walked out with an armfull of town and technics sets.
