  1. I love the impromptu LDD chefs hat!
  2. We started yesterday... I have my city calendar and my girfriend has her castle calendar, so we're both set right up to christmas! :) I was also hesitant in destroying the fantastic "poster" in the city calandar... thankfully lego.com have put that picture up as a .pdf so it's now on my desktop in pristine condition :)
  3. I can see that new canopy making it's way to some fighter jet MOC's very soon! Also love the mechanic's torso! I can see him relaxing down on the beach... :)
  4. Nice looking set! Just one thing, is the jumping fence just one piece with rotating feet, or is it made of many pieces?
  5. Love the kangaroo! :)
  6. Wow, that's truly awful... especially with the addition of those wings on the side... what was TLG thinking during the whole World City line? I'm so grateful they pulled their heads in for the 50th anniversary... But kudos on the review though.. very thorough! :)
  7. That's a beautiful design for a mansion! I hope the city police force is ready for action, as that place looks like a real beacon for criminal activity! I love how indulgent the mansion owner is to have not just 1, but 2 fireplaces in the garage... 1 for each car! Now that is living!
  8. As old saying goes, I don't think it's the height that is the problem, more the width... Maybe the building wouldn't stand out quite as mich if it wasn't as wide... (and maybe a little lower).
  9. The packaging is the first indication that this is some sort of promotional non-retail item. I've only ever seen Lego available in boxes in stores, while all the special limited promo items end up in the plastic baggies....
  10. I really like that construction train... very cool. As an alternative to the swing design of your lift, perhaps you could have a proper scissor lift from the reference photo, as seen from this classic set: All it needs is a bigger platform on top and you are set :)
  11. I think that house looks great! Very well done! I also think that there should be some self-moderation about chastising peoples grammar and spelling etc, especially as this is worldwide site, with many visitors not having English as their first language... it doesn't provide a welcoming attitude for new posters...
  12. What a beautiful creation, and such a fantastic price! Correct me if I'm wrong, but in all the 30 years that I recall, I've never seen Lego embrace the "medievel village" concept in the Castle range. It's great to finally see some variety in this theme without castle after castle year after year!
  13. LOL... nice way to pick out the TFOL's from AFOL's... it's the AFOL's that are laughing their red spanked a**es off :)
  14. "... many castles died in the making of this stadium..." That's very cool... my only query, are there any white cargo nets or netting from other sets that you could use for the goals to avoid the blocky "dugout" look?
  15. They are obviously from a mobile phone device or similar low res camera... this might be the only option available, so let's not just post comments about blurry photos and taking them all again...
  16. Or just as bad, sneak in the room and PLAY with all those!
  17. According to the brochure that came with the last Lego club mag it said it ships september... I missed the deadline to order mine through the club, but hopefully the Lego Education Centre here in Brisbane will be stocking them...
  18. It could be worse, they could be yellow spots...
  19. Ugh... 1998 lego system... the dark ages... I don't care for this set at all. From the cheap head and tail-light design to the big blue canopy and levers instead of steering wheel...
  20. Lego can never be completely accurate to real life, so I can see 2 options. Bit the bullet and have the doors open outwards so at least you achieve the correct look... or install the first door backwards so that it opens inwards but from the left instead of the right... it may not look as good because the main colour is on the opposite side, but at least the door swings in for you...
  21. I think the set looks great, and I hope that this in addition to the Eiffel Tower (and Statue of Liberty? I haven't seen that one) that we'll see large scale models of iconic buildings from all over the world... come on Sydney Opera House! :)
  22. I love that yellow bungalow!
  23. I never saw this set in Australia either... and looking from the pictures, that office wouldn't be the best place to rest and relax with that big crane rumbling about overhead...
  24. What was Lego thinking with the fake tracks in the pictures for all the train sets released during this period? Did they actually think that this was a viable play alternative to buying actual tracking? Or were they just making sure that you didn't think you were getting track pieces included inside the box...
  25. I much prefer the Shell version of that station which had the full awning over the roadway, and the special road plate with the extra lane to pull into to fill 'er up...
