I second that - I should be able to make something before the weekend

Worse than the recession? You must be a die-hard Bionicle fan. I bought every green Bionicle at each release for a new weapon. I personally think the recession is worse though

Becuase I'm from the Uk, we don't get taught anything about the American civil war unless on a special university course, but I have been able to do some of my own learning whilst playing Age of Empires III and Age of Empires III: The Warchiefs Expansion. I must say, that covered wagon is spot on, including the change in wheel size between the back and front. A set worthy of TLG, Brickster - the only complaint I have is the fact that there is only one horse pulling the wagon. Other than that it's a great MOC

No. But there are a lot of members who severly dislike MB or actually happen top love MB as much as Lego. People who like the MB can discuss them in this thread, along with others. I must admit though, having a Halo license was always going to be a winner because of its Xbox cult following. I've never owned an Xbox, but Halo as a brand is my favourite exclusive game on the Xbox to add a different experience of future warfare with a complex story. This must be the reason it is so popular. BTW there is an article in 'Flipside' youth magazine in the Uk actually saying that MB is a rip-off of Lego whilst reviewing the new Halo toys. Hows that for positive feedback?

I like the fact that Disney make the effort to have only the BEST lookalike of Johnny Depp. To the unsuspecting eye, people may think it IS Johnny Depp - great for photos to fool your mates.

Only in the USA, 2 months earlier than everywhere else, as usual (but not everywhere in the US yet)

From my experience, Megbloks is quite expensive oln the shelves, but that might be based on opinion as well as fact

I would like to know that too one way or another, seeing as I have had the old one and completed it on Sith Master difficulty.

Unless legomilk is speaking in riddle (which might sometimes be true), I think he's referring to TV adverts or something similar, in order to promote Atlantis as a new theme. I also looked more closely at the cache pics and noticed that there are small advertisements for a Lego film or TV series on the side of some of the boxes (which may have already been mentioned, but I would like to say I saw it too)

Moooooooaahahahaha! (in a generic scary tone!) There's something about that place that always bugs me - why have those three floors and spooky exterior if you don't get to look inside? I was contemplating having a graveyard in my garden but I decided there's not enough room for the bodies

I'm sursprised you had enough memory on your camcorder/camera for those vids legopigeon. I like the return of more Disneyland vids though - you must have one for inside the haunted house!
-
Another lack of Brickmaster bonuses for the rest of the world (my magazine won't come for another few weeks ) Nice clear scans though of the magazine. I wish there were more sets included in the Atlantis preview though because I wanted to see that massive shark set in detail (no cache pics, as of yet from what I've found). Also, you've gotta love some of TLG's comic adaptations - I've added that speech bubble to my sig

lego star wars being stopped
The Rancor replied to clonewarskiller's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Where have I heard that depressing news before... -
Better be in stock soon. Hyena Droid Bomber at £10, farm at £25 and Y-Wing at £25 are too good to miss

Well due to the 're-release' of the characters next year in mini packs from the pics, the finish was then quite inevitable. It can only mean that TLG will replace Bionicle with a similar theme aimed at an older year group (seeing as Bionicle sets were usually rated for 7-16 or 8-16 year olds whilst most other non-technic sets are 7-14 or 6-12) We can only hope a replacement lives up to Bionicle, or perhaps is even better. :skull:

Why do Star Wars fans hate Star Trek so much?
The Rancor replied to liquidcross's topic in Community
Not really, because those are virtually the same whilst, as others may have already established and pointed out strongly, Star Wars and Star Trek are very, very different. Only only main similarity is that they are both Sci-Fi. I don't really believe or want to join in this odd argument. Hating Star Wars buting loving Star Trek or loving Star Wars and hating Star Trek is like saying "I love my computer but despise TV" - they are both under the theme of Sci-Fi, but otherwise they are very different. Of course Star Wars is better visually, but the messages and depth within the story is not as deep as Star Trek. -
Perhaps X-Box fans won't be pleased to hear this but Halo fans alone should... The only reason I would buy an X-Box 360 is to play any game in the Halo series I have never owned any non-PC Microsoft tech, and have bought every Playstation and a lot of games instead. My friend, however, has an old Xbox so whenever we meet up we try to get some Halo 1 or Halo 2 in. I've got to admit that not only is the online good, but the story and its split screen action is amazing and addictive with such a range of plasma weapons and especially vehicles for a first person shooter. Can't say I like playing my mate in Slayer mode, because he instantly goes for the rocket launcher and blows me up at point blank! (You guys are missing out though - although not such long running franchises Motorstorm games and Resistance games are kick megablocks! But it would be easier for me to buy a 2nd hand Xbox than you guys to buy 2nd hand PS3s. I'm not a bit fan of console exclusivity )

I can't view Eurobricks without posting a comment on this MOC - the previous one was quite sculpey'ey' but still looked good. This MOC looks even better (not for the aesthetics but because it's all TLG pieces) and I don't know why I haven't done something similar although maybe not as good) myself - lack of funds and brown pieces would play a part in not being able to build it for me. I never knew how well the gripping pieces and the tooth pieces would suit each other as the top and bottom jaws but they worked perfectly, as with the circular pieces from the bottom of a gearstick. Not only is the mififig scale roughly correct, but so are the tiny details such as the brown 1x1 circular pieces on the arms. I only thing I can fault with the MOC is the appearance of the red parts of the technic joints for the legs, which wouldn't attract attention if they were bley like the others. Otherwise, a faultless MOC and you're very welcome to Eurobricks in my opinion roblin

oh yeah! Cheers LegoPigeon

I expect Brainstorm, Alien X, Goop and Echo Echo might appear in a later wave, but some of them are very unusual shapes.
-
But trends from other themes would indicate that we would get a much bigger set or 3 in the 2nd wave. The second wave is likely to have something like the Temple portrayed on the box art of each of the sets in the background.

Hoorah! More Parisian vids. I feel like going straight back to the Louvre right now (seeing as I'm doing Art A-Level). I think it's odd that the Mona Lisa is so small, but there is a painting opposite or in the hallway which is massive and has far more interesing details so must have taken a lot longer

I like the more centralised idea on being nearer the centre of the earth or near a volcano - which I assume is why the rock monsters are on fire (unless they ate too many crystals). The first 3 sets that have appeared all seem to want to extinguish the monsters in some way or another with those blue weapons - which I assume are the helmet colour so should be okay. I also like the new 'armour' for the actual miners - pretty much all pearl silver. BTW Raphy, TLG DID go that far with Dino Attack - we just didn't get the same theme in the Uk.
-
Thanks for all the extra pictures - now I can see how good (or bad) the sets look. I can't say I'll want these sets, BUT... it doesn't mean that kids won't, because they like action figures. You can't compare this theme to Bionicle to be honest. Bionicle is interchangeable and has new weapons every year to use in Bionicle MOCs - there are always at least two Bionicle of the same colour to combine - not much combinability here.

I said I might buy it if it's on clearance - I already have Fort Legoredo and the Gold Rush town buildings such as sheriff's, general store and bank. I also have the WW set with an abandoned gold mine, so I wouldn't really buy this just for the figs. The signs look a little goofy as well (of course) so they wouldn't match with the signs I already have on my buildings.
