Thank you for your kind comments! Well, I built it as a store + one apartment on top, so it's a similar concept as other WV sets, except it's a bit bigger ... It's also built as a sole structure, so you can think of it as the main building (or one of the main ones) at the centre of the village
-
Thank you both! Yeah, that girl in front of the store has a bit of a sweet tooth too
-
Wonderful! It fits perfectly into Winter Village series...

Thanks! It's always nice to hear such comments

Good day! Here's my contest entry: Victorian era tools and candy shops on Christmas eve: DSC08481 by Nejc Roskar, on Flickr Christmas spirit on the street - carolers singing, hot chestnuts are being sold, both stores are decorated (as well as street lamps): DSC08483 by Nejc Roskar, on Flickr DSC08486 by Nejc Roskar, on Flickr We have four different compartments inside: in the bottom left is well equipped tool shop, next to it is a candy shop with decorated Christmas tree and candies on shelves. In the upper left room is fully loaded table waiting on a Christmas dinner and in the top right corner a family is decorating a tree. There is also a grandmother clock in there. All four compartments have a fire place: DSC08420 by Nejc Roskar, on Flickr DSC08458 by Nejc Roskar, on Flickr Everything (except the carriage) is mostly (in about 95%) built out of bricks from 4 official Lego sets: Winter Village Bakery, Toy Shop, Post Office and Cottage... @splatman If you take a closer look at Santa's sleigh, you can see the yellow package inside, which was delivered under the tree for sleepy boy (named Ole). He wrote to Santa that he'd like to have a wooden toy. He was so thrlled by it, that he later started building wooden toys by himself and his company later became known as LEGO

Thank you! @NoEinstein Version of Christmas Carol by Robert Zemeckis was my big inspiration for starting this build Merry Christmas!

Sorry I forgot to answer this. badbob001 now I understand what rrigs meant. Well, yes it's a mistake. If you look at the blueprints, you can see that this part of the ship is somewhat similar to my version but it's ofcourse wrong. I guess I didn't spend enough time looking at the real photos. I'll correct it
-
Thanks again! @kemit I tried to get as close to similar facades in reallife as possible (with lots of details etc..) Well, it's almost Christmas! Everything is ready for the Santa, here's the picture of christmas tree and diorama underneath

Great to see such lovely comments, thanks again! This is fabuland sign, see here: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=x222 Exactly! They put this carpet there to represent wreath with red decoration, therefore red/green colour No, I have just used my imagination and made a fusion of several different victorian era houses… Sure he fits, Santa fits everywhere! That's the whole point. I have built my own little dream victorian house, that I wanted for a very long time. Great advantage of LDD is that you can change shapes and styles untill you're completely satisfied with the end product…

Sorry for the late reply… Great, keep up the good work! As @escortmad79 already answered, you should get everything you need on Bricklink. When you need specific bricks you get there… I tried to build it as close to the blueprints as possible in this scale. But I don't quite understant what you mean. Can you explain a bit more? I have plans to change front of the ship, because it looks too ''bricky'' to me. I'm already designing changes in LDD, so I'll post more updates soon!

Try not to think of it as a skeleton head, but just face made from snow. Although as I recall, we built snowman with evil face many times, just for fun
-
Thank you all! I've tried many different shapes (including your suggestion), but in my opinion, this tipe works best… You're very kind, but I think I wouldn't qualify as this MOC has about 4000 bricks, all of the winter contests so far were to build something similar in size with official ones
-
Hello! I'm posting a little bit bigger moc this time. I decided to build it because I wasn't satisfied with this year's winter set. Firstly, I intended to build something similar in size, but the final product is 3 – 4 times bigger. Design started in LDD and lasted for about 1 – 2 months, then I ordered all the necessary bricks. Finally, after last package has arrived, I was able to build this Victorian era house, covered in snow. Diorama is supposed to be placed in the late 19th century, on 24th of December: In front of the house, people are singing Christmas carols. You can see that children have already built a big snowman: Details of the house: Snowy christmas tree on the terrace: Roof: There's a restaurant in the first floor. Outside, on the pavement, housewife is showelling the snow: As you can see from upside down, she almost shovelled the whole pavement already : Inside of the house. As mentioned before, there is a restaurant in the first floor (they set a pretty good decoration this year ) and there's sleepy boy's room in the second Attic is full of wooden junk: Despite the fact, that Santa clause as we know him today (red clothing), didn't exist at that time, I had to put him in And then comes the night on 24th of December: Ofcourse, he stopped by the house: Kids will be pretty happy I guess Details of the grandmother clock and street lamp: And for the end, 2 pictures with everything together: That's it for now

Contest Contest: Pimp My Camper! Entry Thread
MacGyver replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Here is my entry for the mini camper competition. I built steam camper with big wooden wheels. Entrance to the cockpit is over the ladder at the bottom. Pictures: -
Thank you all for the nice comments! @Nazgarot No, the steering isn't functional (beside fixed axles, the chain would have to be differently placed in order to be ), but it's built as it was on these machines (well, quite close to it)… And here is the picture of the actual trailer, which was my inspiration:

Hello! After quite some time, I'm building Legos again. I intend to replicate some of the steam engines from late 19th and early 20th century. I'm starting with steam tractor, or sometimes called Locomobil (or Lokomobila), which I designed in LDD first. I built it as close to real thing as possible, but also added my own ideas. Let's go to the pictures: Trailer: Both together: Here's the real model: There are approx. 900 bricks in this moc... That's it, for now :)

Thanks again! I thought that some of you may be interested in details. So here are a few pictures of the back of the ship and other details. Back of the ship without upper piece: Here you can see how it's built: In the middle are 1x1 bricks with studs on both sides, then ordinary 1x1 bricks are placed on top. Everything is placed perfectly on tiles below: and fixed on both ends: A little bit more at the back: From the outside you can see the connection: Back of the ship: And now some other details. Here you can see how are masts placed: Stairway in front of the ship: Simple construction of the front crane: Rescue boat: Top of the front mast: And the anchor: Best regards,NEJC

It's so nice to hear such comments @Pilotdude20 For blueprints look here: http://www.abratis.de/ under ''resources'' you should find it. Inside the ship are just all colored ordinary bricks for reinforcement... @AncientDayz It depends on scale that you want to do. All scales have their + and -. For example, bigger the scale, easier will be for you to present all details from blueprints. But on the other hand, bigger the scale, more it will cost and harder will be to actually build it. In my case, I ''copied'' as much as possible and it wasn't really very hard. Little bit time consuming I guess, to get all those lengths right. My advice for you is that you give it a try. Maybe in LDD first, as in my case, and smaller scale with not so many details. You'll see that feeling, having build something very similar to the real thing, is just great @Aussie BJ It would be great to be in the front page some day Well, my wish certainly is to go to Australia some day, but it won't be possible in near future I'm afraid best regards, NEJC

Thank you all once again! @Javert I'm a huge fan as well. It's just something about this ship @lightningtiger Looking forward to her opinion
