They're all really cool, but didn't the medics wear white armor in the game?
-
Absolutely agreed. I got my Arkham from TRU for $50, (not quite half-off,) and it was an amazing deal. I had barely any of those black railings, and now I have enough for whatever I want!* *To a point. I'm not much of a large-scale builder, I like building at the same scale as official sets. Now, looking back, I really wish I'd bought more of Sabre Island. It's a great set for minifigs, a cannon, and those brick-and-plaster wall pieces, if you like that sort of thing. But I was, like, six at the time, and doubles of sets were BAD. The only set I ever had doubles of before coming out of my dark age was the Spyrius Saucer Scout.

Hah, I've got a gator-themed one too, which I've called "Leatherhead's Cajun Cruiser." (I'm a bit of a Ninja Turtles fan. ) I just haven't uploaded the pictures yet, but I'll post one here when I do. I like yours a lot though, and it's a much different approach then what I decided to do with mine. I think they both work well with the gator.

One thing I'll point out is that 50 minifigs is a LOT more than you'd think. I'm making a zombie apocalypse MOC right now so I ordered 50 Harry Potter troll heads and 100 bley minifig hands to make up the undead hordes. Now I'm having trouble actually USING all of them because even with my relatively large collection I don't have enough suitable torsos unless I want to start making Ice Planet zombies or something. 50 minifigs can go a long way.

Hah, I noticed this too. My small entry has the most votes of any of my entries, and it's the one that took me the least amount of time to make! (Yes, it actually took me less time than my impulse entry.)
-
My vote: Blacktron I Forestman Paradisa Girl (Flowered shirt) Admiral Broadside Aquanaut (Red hair and glasses)

Ain't that the truth. Redwall was one of my favorite series when I was younger and looking back I'm a bit amazed at how bloody they were. (I stopped reading when I got old enough to realize they all had pretty much the same plot.) A LEGO theme could be pretty cool though. Like castle meets Fabuland. Even so, I voted Wild West.

The hotdog and taco are great, but your apple is looking a little pear-shaped. (In the literal sense, not the figurative.) Making it a little wider around the stem would make it more apple-ish.
-
It's a little thing, but I really like the incorporation of the Enchanted Island baseplate in the background. It looks like the crew is going ashore! Makes it much more exciting and dynamic than just a ship on the sea.
-
It is indeed a shame, because that set probably would have gotten my vote. It's very well done, with a nice variety of minifigs, and looks like it would be very fun to play with!

I'm very happy about this because even if I don't buy lots of full packs, this will result in a significant drop in the price of these minifigs on Bricklink. There are plenty of classic minifigs that I've wanted for a long time, but the cost has been too prohibitive. If later packs let me finally add some Blacktron I or Forestmen minifigs to my collections, I'll be thrilled. As for this one, I'll definitely be buying several packs. I only have a few classic spacemen in white and yellow, having found them by luck in a bulk E-bay purchase, and I have none in red. I don't have any firemen, no Octan workers, and just one classic prison uniform. Finally, although the general consensus seems to be that the mad scientist is the weakest fig of the bunch, I've wanted him for a long time. Swap out the head and you've got a regular doctor, and then I can use his crew cut for something else. (I only have one of those right now.)

This might extend a little ways outside of the Agents/Alpha Team themes, but how about creating your very own Legion of Doom? Make an evil base with a big conference table. Use Ogel and Dr. Inferno, and then maybe pull in villains from other Lego themes, like the Mars Mission Alien Leader or the Evil Wizard.

Hah! Well, I figured that LEGO's most generic face fit the concept of cultish conformity really well. The Phoenix "heavies" all have different faces under there, but the rest of the cultists all look exactly the same.
-
I've got two BotP minifigs that don't fit anywhere on the A.D.A.M., so I plan on making a smaller vehicle, like a converted jeep, to carry them, like the skiff to Jabba's Sail Barge. Not right away though. First I'm working on an "average" survivor's camp. Until I decide to Bricklink some more Ogel minion torsos, I can't actually expand the cult. I like the idea of them being nomadic, so an actual headquarters probably won't happen.

I agree that the driver's seat looks a little too bare. I may add more control panels to the black plates on the side. I'm afraid a roll cage wouldn't work too well because the top, when lowered, doesn't have much clearance above the driver's head. I actually spent a lot of time trying to position the top and the driver in such a way as to try and line up the top with the 2x3 slopes at the nose while still clearing the driver's head. Actually, decorating the inside in general was tough, since whenever I tried to add something, invariably it would get in the way of the top or the hinges that held it up. Some type of caging on either side of the driver could work though, it just won't be able to go overhead as is. Protection isn't that much of an issue for the driver though, since the tank only moves when the top is lowered. Unless they were ambushed mid-sermon....

This was my first creation after recently coming out of my dark age. I wanted to do something post-apocalyptic with zombies, and I had the idea of a cult who considered destroying the undead a religious undertaking. So the Phoenix Brotherhood was born, with their leader, Cardinal Ash. (A little Evil Dead reference there, as well as fitting the image of the phoenix.) This is the A.D.A.M., or Automated Disciple-Acquiring Machine. It rolls into settlements of survivors and opens up, raising Ash up in a pulpit so he can deliver sermons and convince survivors to join the cult. The cross is actually the tinted window through which the tank's driver peers. In addition to the two massive chainguns, side mounted sawblades help dispatch zombies. The two little gears beneath the nose rotate to crush zombies as the A.D.A.M. runs over them. In the back is a cage where they keep a former brother who has "lost his way." And yes, Cardinal Ash is basically the evil wizard with no beard and a different hat. He was just too awesome to change that much. I didn't want to clog this post with lots of pictures, so more photos are available at my Brickshelf gallery.

Thanks! I'm pretty impressed with the way you were able to incorporate not just the witch's dress, but her head. You don't see that often. Phred: The submarine is amazing! Unfortunately, it's iron-clad creations like yours which brought an end to the Age of Sail! dukeschunke: It's a little thing, but I really, really like the powder horn on your Imperial soldier! Fluyt: Broadside's Barkadeer is very TLC! It's got that lots-of-detail-in-a-small-space aspect to it. Erdbeereis1: Argh! I've had my own little Islander cookout built for a couple of weeks now. I didn't steal your idea, I swear! Wow, you're right, I missed that bit in the rules before. Thanks for the heads up! I'd tried to post my impulse and large entries separately but it kept combining them into one post. Oh well, it's fixed now, since I reposted Fog Rock Raiders and deleted it from the earlier post.

Large category entry: Title: Fog Rock Raiders 191 Pieces + 3 minifigs Includes 2 parrots and 1 rat It's common knowledge among the townspeople that the old Fog Rock lighthouse attendant has a certain predilection towards rum, and stockpiles kegs of the drink in the lighthouse for those long nights on watch. For two scheming cutthroats, this presents an opportunity for free drinks! As the attendant makes his way to the island with a fresh boatload of rum, the pirates move in, to make off with the barrels themselves! With the attendant already feeling the effects of the drink, there's a good chance he won't even notice....

I'm putting in a last-minute entry for the "small" category. Title: Beachside Barbeque 96 Pieces - 3 Minifigs, 1 shark Captured by the dangerous cannibal Queen Kahlua, a colonial soldier finds himself to be the tribe's next meal! Queen Kahlua travels to her island cookout in her personal royal canoe. For a more G-rated play experience, use the included "hunk of meat" on the spit!

I got my impulse and large entries posted last night, now I just have to think up something to do for my small entry. Also, I was very happy with my minifig telescope in Fog Rock, but them jamtf puts up the same design earlier in the day! Curses! (I know, I know, it's not that complicated, but I swear I came up with it myself.)

Here's my entry into the Impulse category. Title: The Captain's Grudge 15 pieces After a number of unsuccessful raids, the crew organized a mutiny against their captain. Chaining his legs to a cannon, they pushed him overboard, sending their incompetent leader to the murky depths. Unknown to the crew, however, the pure rage boiling within their former captain kindled an unholy flame within him. Now, the lust for revenge is all that keeps the captain alive, even as his clothing rots and the fish eat his flesh. He will drag his cannon across the ocean floor until he achieves revenge against the crew that betrayed him.

After setting up my Brickshelf account, I've got one question. How do you use a thumbnail as the icon for a folder, instead of the default folder image?
-
Got it in one! It's my favorite movie too. I'm making a suitable avatar, but it's going to require some photoshopping, since it involves a certain pose that minifigs just aren't capable of. I think you'll like it.

Hey everyone, I've been reading the Eurobricks forum for a while now after coming out of my dark age not long ago. (Right around the 50th Anniversary, actually.) I hauled my LEGO bricks out of storage and have been having a great time making MOCs ever since. After reading about the new Pirate contest going on, I thought, "Here's a chance to reintroduce myself to the LEGO community, and put some of my work out there!" So expect some entries into the contest soon! A little about myself. I'm 22 years old, and I live in Vermont, in the United States. My tastes in LEGO are pretty varied, but I believe I had the most sets of Pirates and Space. The pride and joys of my collection when I was younger were Enchanted Island, the Deep Freeze Defender, and Fort Legoredo. (As I said, my collection was varied.) I'm also a big fan of the current fan-made post-apocalyptic theme, and I've been trying out different designs for a zombie attack on a survivor stronghold. (Haven't found one I'm happy with yet, though.) Anyway, I can't wait to post my entries to the contest, and I'll be hanging around!
