According to the things I've seen during the event the airport is a single set. Though I can't be 100% sure - it's preliminary versions, so anything goes.By fav is yellow-and-white seaplane. It's classics, so it's my fav. I totally disagree with BatonMedved on Police Seaplane - it was awful - since the plane of such proportions cannot fly at all. The new seaplane has the most clever usage of double-height car doors - they form the back of the fuselage (I can remember old classic horse-trailer with similar technique).

As promised before - k100m's fire engine hits the LEGO Street: Many thanks to LEGO Community Development for making this happen and to Phantoms.su community for the fest (check more photos HERE - text is in Russian)
-
This is the point we (I mean DoubleBrick members) are not quite sure in... We haven't had a chance to put the engine by the fire station so far. Hopefully we'll have this opportunity soon, though LEGO is not selling 10xxx in Russia. Also it was very pleasant fact that two 30s trucks appeared on the same date! Looks like LEGO has launched the retro-mania with the new product! :) Since GAZ-AA was a copy of the Ford truck... I think that it's Ford AA actually - to match the American style of the Fire Brigade.
-
Very nice! Excellent MOC with cool pictures. The only thing it lacks is the your fire truck with 10197 :) Hopefully will have a chance to combine them on 20th September, so don't forget to take your fire truck! And I'm eager to see the "1930s project" you've mentioned... It sounds great and I hope it will look great too.

ZeeK replied to Co1Der's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Let me put some in here...The person who's responsible for the whole Hard Truck Contest is Ralph_S!!! Ralph's fantastic models of various trucks were inspiration to one of most talented DoubleBrick's builders, nicknamed ZED (here's link to his BrickShelf and Flickr galleries). After finishing two 1/22 scale models he proposed the competition and the first "test" round was conducted about a year ago in Kiev, Ukraine. Then the rules were created, more trucks built and a number of contests took place. Please follow Co1Der's links to see more details. I think that I could ask Jan Beyer's opinion on this challenge, since he has attended to one of the rounds of HTC. P.S. Many thanks to Ralph - we have an unofficial fan-club of your creations. -
Many thanks to everyone for the comments. Actually I do have other Blacktrone I sets: 6894 and 6876.Though I can't be 100% sure (looks like the 6894 Invader is stored in one of the boxes), it is possible to combine the modules. As soon as I find the Invader, I'll try different combinations and take some pictures. I think that the most unusual will be the connecton of two front modules - it will look like famous Russian WWII aircraft IL-2 having two cabins: the pilot in the front (whatever is front), the gunner in the back.

Set number: 6941 Theme: Space - Blacktron I Year released: 1987 (though catalogs have it for 1988) Name: Battrax (different names for various markets) MSRP: uknown, UK catalog indicates "about 18 GBP" 6941 at peeron.com 6941 at bricklink.com 6941 at brickset.com Due to the age of the set, the box is missing and the instruction booklet has completely worn off. I wouldn't like to repeat the building instructions here - it can be easily found at BrickFactory. Just a few notes regarding the parts: - no big elements - most of them is less than 10 studs long - almost no special elements The building process takes no longer than 20 minutes. After it is complete you have the Blacktron's multipurpose multi-functional vehicle in nice black-and-yellow color scheme. The side view hides the wingspan, making it look smaller The set has only one minifigure - a very nice looking old school Blacktron I. Though it's more than 20 years old, it's still very cool - thank to the black suit and nice picture on the torso Check out the solid stud on the head! The key feature of any manned vehicle - the possibility to put the figure inside. The canopy consisting of two parts makes the task very easy. Current vehicles require the canopy to be removed :( The exciting modular structure of LEGO space sets. Four modules are combined here Let's take a closer look at the wheeled base of the vehicle The front and back parts are connected with 4 studs technic axle. The rubber hoses act as self-centering mechanism - awesome! And they have technic-style connectors for other modules to be attached in a jiffy Check out the rear "suspension" made with round 1*1 brick Both sides have storage compartments. The vehicle is equipped with most useful space tools like mallet and spanner :) The cockpit has been detached, the rear module attached. The wheeled base surrounded by detachable modules These can be connected to each other... ...to form a small space ship The small "fighter" has variable geometry of the wings. As usual - it has straight wing for take-off and the other shape for high speed flight. And who cares about the shape in space - there's no air there! :) The instructions also shows this module to be a tiny space ship Too small? May be. Anyway, it's bigger than SP-III flying chair of 8400 Overall - one of my favorite sets. Cool minifig and nice features of the vehicle.

Maybe this BrickShelf folder (THE LINK) will do? I think that there are 2 sets simultaneously - with different models.

Since it was built for the display it had nothing inside (except the "reception" on the first floor). I've added some features inside, but the area inside is rather limited (2,3,4 floors are only 7 suds wide). Anyway, my son is using this station in his Batman-themed games. He has given me a lot of building tips - so there MIGHT BE some development. And it will be another MOC. Many thanks for replies, it's much appreciated. P.S. Yes, I knew I should't put trans-neon dish :( My fault - couldn't find proper one, had to borrow it from fellow AFOL.

Hi there, i'd like to present you my Police Station #56. The building was created for the display held in Moscow on 9-30 May 2009 (description in Russian - ask Google/author for the translation). Many thanks to Jan Beyer and legoloverman for paying attention and visiting it. According to the "modular standard" it has eight studs wide sidewalk and pin connectors (the base size is 32*64 studs): Please check more pictures at Flickr Set And here's the station in the display's setup:

Great figs! My personal favorite is Max Shreck - Duku's hairstyle is the thing!!! Love it! I think I have to build one for me collection. Am I correct that you've painted Catwoman's purse? It looks like it's black too... I wish I had a chance to build the Ivy's Lair...

May be the monster actually did ruined the rest of the castle before the brave hero had chopped the creature's head off with the giant magic sword that vanished instantly? And now only the hero's remains by the tower can tell the whole story?
-
Absolutely!!! Unbelievable MOC (i'm proud to be the person who saw THIS with my own eyes) Looks like the author has managed to buy all slopes in our local unofficial pick-a-brick. Now there's a "deserted bricks bin" left in the store :)
-
Hello, it's nice to that our local builders are ready (i really hope so) to show their creations to eurobricks users. I'm sure that you have some interesting creations - why don't you share with public?

Many thanks for your opinions on these cars. Everyone is absolutely right - i can't say that the small one is great - so I'll build something different next time (maybe I should give Ralph's galleries thorough examination? :)) Regarding the truck... It looks like someone can read my mind as an open book... When I was thinking of the model i come across this vehicle: They use these to deliver 19-liter bottled water to offices. (I think that claer water is much healthier that the inside of the forementioned brewery truck :)) Since the design of the front has alredy been created, I took the idea of using "ribbed" bricks to add texture to the boards of the rear part. After I've finished the first version, i realised that my son will not be able to play with the truck - it was impossible to take out something you put in. So i decided to use snot to make the sides detachacble. i don't think that it tok a lot of work, but it definetetly took a lot of thinking. I used the "platform" of the truck to build several city vehicles for upcoming LEGO display in Moscow. Thank you, Ralph for the comment! Your Porshe, MB and Evo X are brilliant.

Humongous building. Amazing "population" of the Asylum. There are minor things to be improved (lighting of the scenes, camera reflection) and some parts to be cleaned, but i'd like to live in the place by this Asylum! Superb!

I'd like to present two City vehicles built for a small one-on-one contest. The objective was to build two vehicles for LEGO City delivery service: the 4-5 wide light van and the 6-7 wide heavy van/truck. So here're my cars: One can fit two minifigs in the cabin of the truck There are lockers on both sides (actually one of the lockers contain a very useful revolver :) and the other holds a skeleton's leg) These modified 1*2 bricks were supposed to look like the sliding doors. The sidedoards are easily removed for instant play The minifigure can stand inside The VW Caddy-like car is not perfect - so any suggestions are welcome A nice addition to "Market Street" (though putting croissants, chicken legs and carrots in one box will no attract customers :() That's all folks

I've voted "above average" since i've managed to see unresized photos from flickr - just remove "_m" in the image URL and that's all. Absolutely LOVELY vehicle. I think this set will be my nex fav (next to 7942, 7239, 7991) - can't wait till early August (OMG, it's 3 months to wait!!!) when it will be available in Russia (no TRU shops here, sic). Approx. 1 year earlier my friend k100m has created the brilliant vehicle of the same functionality: Here's the link to his topic at Russian AFOL forum DobleBrick: "Peugeot Boxer" And link to his Brickshelf folder: Andrey "k100m" at BrickShelf

Hello there, many thanks for your replies. It's very a great pleasure to see that peole like the MOC. Here's a little story regarding the vignette: The main feature is huge barrel from one of the Western sets (Legoredo, I think). I was looking for some application of the part, and I realised that traditional Japanese Furo bath looks like the object to be made using LEGO. Since I'm not the snot-master I had to cover the gaps between the barrel and the floor with brown chain element. That's how the main pat was built. The walls, the lamps, the acsessories and the minifigs are used to complete the picture and give it additional cute details (especially - the "clothes"). I think some kind of bathrobe would be more realistic, but i the parts i used also give the impression. Thank you very much for the response - very inspiring!

The Grey Ninja has broken into the bathroom to disturb the Prince's relaxation. The old Samurai is defending his master The Black Ninja is lurking... and the undressed Prince trying to defend himself Check out additional photos at my Flickr gallery - click here

Checked the info with our local retailer (yeah - we don't S@H in Russia :(). According to the retailer there will be two "impulse" sets from SPIII in Russia - the K-9 bot and the small space bandit "scooter". No sets have been announced. Anyway, the 3rd edition is not the reincarnation of the "space theme" at all, IMHO.

Thank you very much for so many replies, i wasn't expecting it. So I am very pleased. You're absolutely right! Moreover, I'd like to add Hong Kong and Indonesia (at least in Jakarta - I've been there) to the list. One of the major reasons to cahnge the place of the driver seat (besides the opportunity to shoot without damaging the car) was to make the look more tru-to-the-history: Since Great Britain was the most power empire at that time (I believe 20s of the XX century) their habits, including traffic rules were accepted in the Far East, where the adventures of the Orient Expedition takes place (or took place :)).

7414 - Elephant Caravan Year 2003 Parts 102 (including 3 minifigs ΠΈ 5 playing cards) MSRP 20$ Description at Brickset Inventory at Peeron Invetory at BrickLink Let's begin review as a typical - but we're not typical - customer: take a look at the box. The face of the box is ordinary - the set in action, Orient Expedition logo and Johny Thunder's shadow on the adventurer's map. LEGO's tradition: the box is LARGER than the set itself. The back of the box has pictures of "alternatives". Stop. Have you ever seen an alternative elephant? Neither have I. So It's just an IDEAS of parts implementation. Also you can see the orient map and a goal of the expedition - Scorpion Palace (7418) The book has a small 4-pages comic story As usual the good has won (thanks to the driver and the elephant) and the expedition's on its way to the palace. "Easy building" - that' the word! You can enjoy the full set after ten minutes of combining pieces together. Let's imitate the front of the box - the caravan is on its way, the car is chasing them! The Caravan Let's take a closer look at the coupling device. It's unusual but reliable. The elephant's back is covered with the cloth, the "driver's seat" is made of wood. I wonder how comfortable is it? The dark grey elephant is exclusive figure!!! The cart is VERY simple, but it has angled sides and - once again - a "wooden" container with all kinds of stuff. The Lord's Car A small but neat old-fashioned car. Is this Jeep's grandfather? The wheels, the cabin, The radiator, the windscreen are VERY useful, especially if YOU know HOW to use them :) The trunk is packed with demolition-set. Is the driver going to blow everything up? The driver has taken his place The whell is on the right (LEGO think that it should be on the left) - otherwise the driver'd have to shoot through the windscreen. Now he can use hook to steer the car. No wipers, no dust on the glass, no cracks on the glass... Why? Just left the carwash? There are three minifigs From left to right: Babloo, driver Pippin Reed, adventurer Sam Sinister, lord Accessories: Two containers, scimitar, camera, whip (Indi, where art thou?). The showel and the pickaxe are more common, AFAIK. The cloth is also an exclusive deetail ;) Those who plays table games - check playing cards images at BrickLink Extra parts are OK The gun, the round studs and the T-bar are useful too. Fun with Babloo and the Elephant Maybe one day LEGO will make circus theme in System... But we CAN do it right now! Allez! On your legs! Allez! On your arms! And let the tamer sit on the trunk! The elephant is the key of the set! Conclusion: The set is ordinary as long as we do not pay attention to the elephant :) Since only TWO TYPES of elephants were produced - the dark grey here and the light grey in the Palace, the set is accounted as "useful". PROS The elephant, the red turban, accessories CONS A very ordinary set, except the things mentioned as "pros"

Inspired by the Flickr's CaveRacer group led by Tim Gambort the following cave racer has been built: Please notice the extendable circular saws under the wings Pilot has a number of control indicators, purple stands for "afterburning" The BeePilot is ready-n-waitin' (protection gear is a must in the world of cave racing) BeeRacer at Flickr

Oh, this is a story to tell... Actually i was sure that the squad like this shold be ready to deal with riots. So it was pretty obvious that they SHOULD have shields. Then I studied the LEGO parts and also I looked through my surpluses. Also I recalled the only time i visited police museum (I was 11 then) and I realzed that only octagonal shields will do). There were two options - buy a number of new castle shields like this one: or use my own shields that come from set 8781 The Cstle of Morcia: Since the shields from the set had patterns, the stickers were applied and shields became almost white (meaning that Sirs Jayko, Danju, Raskus and Santis lost certain amount of their protection). then i attached 2*1 plate with "POLICE" pattern to the stud on the shield. And that's it. Not too creative, but the only set that has unpatterned octagonal shield (8777) was not availabe at the moment of construction. Since the competition (yeah, this MOC won a "best CITY emergency vehicle" title in Russian LEGO forun contest) allowed to use custom stickers, it was okay.
