  1. Wow!!! Your work it much much better!!! I wish I had seen it before! It's very interesting that the inspiration comes from the same source - the poor Loius XVI... You have used BA's accessories so cool... I've noticed you've encountered the same problem i have come across - the "captain hats" with pirate pattern... However, those poor lads of 18th cetury were not bald-headed, so I took Aunt May's hair... (I do support Pirates Fans' request to LEGO to introduce those noble hairpieces!) Thank you very much, Capt. Stabblin!!!
  2. It's very easy: you stack 2*x [reddish/old/dark] brown plates leaving 1 stud wide place for tiles. Then you can use this part: to place the wall vertically (1 plate under the hinge is required) Then you'll have to camouflage the sides with some kind of post (or wall) That's it, hope it's clear. I had to borrow 8 8 new Soldiers... and some pirate hats too... and the crying head too.. from my fellow AFOLs... So it's kind of "community build" ... This shot is the only possible way to show this scene... There's only ~25 soldiers here, an most of hats have pirate pattern on the front :) I had to choose the camera's position rather carefully! This is the figure: Alfred the Butler from BatCave. LEGO Licences Themes are the source of magnificient and exremely expensive minifigs... Thank you very much. I've ran out of captain hats for this scene... then i come across one of the boxes with "spare parts" i bought in January... voila!!! 8 more hats for the moс! I was happy at that moment!
  3. Yes it does now. Just missed the "Napoleonic era" in forum's description - had to ask moderator to move the topic. Many thanks for pointing this out.
  4. Many thanks! I'd like to give these credits to those, who introduced this board-like pattern. So I've just borrowed the design and put it to the place. Further study of this "Madam Guillotine" reveal some details I've missed... But I had no intention to attract too much attention to the chop-off process. This shot is about the whole scene... Also, some strange coincidence - the guards are Swiss Infantry of [French] army... Due to lack of dark-blue coats (is this third fraction together with red coats and blue coats?) this happened... So it's time for bricklinking for more dark-blue torsos...
  5. Inspired with the final episode of Louis XVI of France However, there's no need to concentrate on minor issues when major trouble comes...

    City 2010

I can't be 100% sure of the 30 year progress of real train stations since i'm 30 :) However, there are things i like in old set and not like in the new one: the length of the platform - was 48. now 34 the stairs design the design of the fences of the air travel nice touche like stairs fo maintanance of thу railtrack the design of the stairs support lampposts Obviously, this reveals i'm not the target group for this set...

    City 2010

Let me be kind of retrograde person... The brand-new 7937 Train Station has not gone too far from this: set #7822 released in 1980. So thirty years proved very little progress with train stations...
  8. I thought I've answered... Okay, the figs I have access to are unpacked, so I can't say anything about it. I think CopMike has more information....
  9. It's nice to see more figures! Is it possible to see the pictorial comparison of the shovels and turkey drumsticks (chicken leg?)
  10. Great review! Adding more action with the 3177 set is brilliant!!! I wish I had the opportunity to build the minifig-scaled version of the EURONCAP test facility... However, we'd need the short-leg version of the dummy too... Many thanks, CopMike! P.S. Does ANYONE know what is the plate printing "PA7 70" means?
  11. I think you're referring to this one: and the haed is: They might be relatives of some sort... The Caveman is the ancestor and the Power Miner is the descendant. Still fighting some Rock Monsters... With the club of with the help of Mine Mechs...
  12. The information comes from LEGO Community Development and it has been confirmed by our local LEGO representatives/retailers: Minifigure collection Series 1 box will contain 60 figures, with at least 3 figures of each type. I think CopMike has posted this in the major minifigure collection thread...
  13. See PM.
  14. Since these are not sold in Russia yet (and i don't think the figs are sold anywhere), i was not able to buy any :( However as soon as they will be available, i'm going to get myself the complete 60 fig box (which, as we know, will contain three complete sets)... and as many cheerleaders as possible!!!! I assure you, we have not sold our souls and we have not robbed anybody. As far as I understand, local LEGO subsidiaries have some figures for their needs. So... So at the moment I do not have complete set...
  15. 5 pieces actually. Many thanks, updated the first postI can't say anything regarding the feeling the contents through the package - for some reason the figs i have access are already opened and assembled by other people.
  16. I've just compared the torso with the tan and bright light yellow (as long as light yellow) parts. The torso is tan (not 100%, but 99% sure).
  17. I think it's the lighting. The actual color looks pretty close to "Medium Blue" (BrickLink color table) - I've compared to the 2*4 brick from the CITY 2010 advent calendar (7687) I think these are white. At least they are white with the fig I have in front of me. Maybe It's the lighting effect? the same as above?
  18. Setnumber: 8683 Minifig number&name: #10 The Wrestler Numbers of different minifigs in series 1: 16 Parts in this bag: 5 Price: 89 Russian Roubles (30 Roubles per 1 USD exh. rate) Release: June 2010 Welcome to our show, Senior! Since my country is rather far from Mexico, the first time the people became aware of Mexican wrestling called "lucha libre" was the release of the "Nacho Libre" movie starring Jack Black... So here he is, the LEGO Luchador: and the one from the movie The number of parts is small, but we receive the red cape, which obviously goes well with custom figs. The printing on the head is nice and accurate and the color used for head piece and legs is quite nice. I'm not sure that the pictures show this, but IMO, it's not cheap-looking at all Here we have all the differences from the ordinary figs - The Mark on the inner side of the arm, and the digit marks on the hands. The front view Who said "superman"? The printing on the torso is massive, tough accurate: the sweat-shirt, the prize belt... Any ideas for using torso/legs in custom figs? The back of the minifugure is absolutely plain I think of buying one for display purposes only, since i have not seen any possible custom applications yet. Any ideas are welcome! Many thanks to my fellow DoubleBrick's member Dan (see his BrickShelf folder) for professional photos.
  19. I was thinking of the same comparison, but somehow I can't find the old club anywhere (the sorting process has not been finished after we moved in). So as soon as I find the troll's club - we'll compare them side by side in every possible way.
  20. Since I don't think I have any lighter yellow from Belville... Okay, I promise I'll compare the colors when I get home today...
  21. I don't think we're showing off... As far as I remember there were a lot of speculations regarding the quality of the product - as long as we all have the detailed high quality images we'll be able to make up our minds, whether to buy 'em all or not.I was pleased with quality of the figures, these are (ooops!!! spoiler!!!) better than the "vintage minifig collection" ones, IMHO.
  22. Actually I did. It's some technical issues with the our ftp. At least Svelte has saved one for the front-page. Really sorry... I think they'll solve the issues very soon.
  23. Setnumber: 8683 Minifig number&name: #3 The Caveman Numbers of different minifigs in series 1: 16 Parts in this bag: 6 Price: 89 Russian Roubles (30 Roubles per 1 USD exh. rate) Release: June 2010 The Caveman looks pretty much like one of my favs from the past - the main charater of "Prehistorik" and "Prehistorik 2" arcade games. New "prehistorik" club and new hair-and-beard piece are the most interesting here. The club is smaller than the troll's one. The new face print. Might be useful. The 360 degrees look at the new hair piece. Very nice! Thogh it may look like the Hagrid's one, but it's made of ABS, not the rubber material. No accessories - front view. Nice printing, however this patterns are very specific - if you're in the process of creating the prehistoric world - it's what you need! Also I think the leg pattern will go well The back view - no printing on the back. Very nice and really collectable figure. Many thanks to my fellow DoubleBrick member Dan for these high quality images! Though I don't think there are any quality related questions are left after Cop Mike's reviews, I have to confirm that the quality is very good, printing has no issues at all, so the only differences from the ordinary figures are "the mark@ on the inner side of the arm-piece and digits on the hand-pieces. Thank you for your attention!
  24. Moreover, even the closet one - Bluewater - will take time and money to get to... I think traveling to Brighton or Windsor will be more expensive... I was lucky - my journey to Bluewater was 5 quid :)
  25. As far as I know, it's possible to use ordinary RC train motor: to drive the train, using PF-9V connector.
