  1. Remember Lego STOLE the idea and dimensions in the first place. Lego is based on being a clone brand at inception.
  2. Very nice extras to look forward to for those of us (un)lucky enough to still be in!
  3. If you look back at the voting, they are all ranking well above average. TLM and S10-12 have a biggest peak for Above Average rather than Outstanding, and I didn't go all the way back so may have missed some. It makes you wonder what average means, when every series is above average! Series 13, 14 and now 15 have every single female character produced as the least frequent. S12 was slightly better, having the battle goddess and dino tracker at 4 instead of 3. There is clear gender bias going on in the CMF series. Your reviews for CMF are one of the most important as they are normally the first out. This type of information should be pointed out and hopefully fed back to lego.
  4. Arvo Brothers are now selling their Alien Project book. SPOILER: it is wonderful :-)
  5. So buy the parts you want from a reseller on bricklink.
  6. It's funny you should say it is the "the minifigures which we normally need to obtain just a few are given the distribution ratio of three". It is all the female figures that are given a distribution of three. You also say this about the satyr's legs: "It's the first of its kind to be ever created from the usual standard minfigure legs." This is not true. There are the pirate legs and the robot legs that also deviate from the standard minifigure legs.
  7. It's been a while since I read this thread, so these are replies to rather old comments. I agree with this. One of my kids loves Chima. He saw a couple of episodes online (we don't get it on TV here) and didn't really like it. But he loves playing with the animal minifigs and vehicles. He makes up the stories perfectly well. Some lions are good, some bad. Some of the crocs are good, some bad. And so on. He can of course refer to the "official" story if he wants to and make up action based on what he has seen, or he can completely ignore and make up his own stories. He prefers the latter. I'm not sure it would. It would sell to people who already have LOTR, but it would lead to confusion to others. Why make a single set with Eowyn and Witch King when customers cannot buy Frodo and the other Hobbits, or Aragorn, or Boromir, etc. To get shelf space, a small set needs to be part of a range. Major retailers here in the UK dumped Hobbit sets (50% off within weeks of release). Whether that was on lego's orders or their own, I don't know. But they wanted rid of the Hobbit quickly. I doubt they would buy into a single small LOTR set.
  8. 60's flip ... French braid
  9. I'd say Mega bloks and Kreo are clones (just as lego was originally) as they make similar parts to be compatible with each other. Neither of these companies pretend to be lego. Brickforge and BrickWarriors also make compatible parts but they are Customs (to me). I don't think either of these two types hurt lego. We need lego to have competition from major manufacturers. Without MB, lego wouldn't need to keep on it's game (and it is slipping a bit in quality as it is, but riding high on popularity at the moment). BF and BW don't harm lego at all. They are such small scale and make things that lego don't. They get hurt when lego start making things that they specialise in. Then there are the fakes - I dout these have much impact on lego. If they did, then lego would do something about it. But they don't seem to care when an event that they are present at also has stalls selling copies of lego minifigures. They are sold, but I imagine many of the sales go to people that weren't going to buy the lego set anyway.
  10. No, we need more minidolls and more minifigures. Minidolls are very popular among certain groups of young girls (and some young boys) in a way minifigures are not. And some adults like them too.
  11. I guess the problem with Inside Out is that they will probably just about be sellable next year. The year after they will be forgotten about by the majority. So they either do all five in S1 or forget about them. Personally, I have no interest in them. The classics (Mickey et al, Pan and Hook, the Aladdin ones) I'll get if good enough. Tarzan and Jane, meh. If they are real, I hope they do 3 frequency for those. Presumably they will be fleshie though, so the Tarzan torso might be useful as a part rather than as a minifig.
  12. I wonder if that is actually a downside. There are some really well detailed scale models already available. Will a lego one sell well against them? That is something they will have to take into consideration.
  13. The other use is to leave him in a drawer and get him out in two years and trade for 10 useful figures. That's what I did with the bunny guy. :-)
  14. Mars Rover was available for three months constantly at S@H in the UK. Research Institute was also available for weeks, not hours. Advent calendars have also been easy to get, with many stores putting them on sale (discount) before December, such as in the Argos 3for2.
  15. No use for a mullet? The spaceman / astronaut is not the first similar pairing though. We've had loads of mechs, robots, pairs like flamenco and now ballet, etc. Male - female pairs like tennis, caveman, cyclops, etc. The spaceman although a similar idea is very different printing to the new astronaut. They don't even look like they come from the same series the print style is so different.
  16. TheJoker won the Batman lot! It must be fixed :-)
  17. England haven't been World Champions (World Cup Holders) in a long time. So long, we've got songs about it that need to keep getting changed.
  18. If it is those four teams, I think we will hear a lot more of this. Why no Italy, or Belgium, or Portugal? All good football nations and good lego markets. Then why no Hungary or Czech Republic, homes to lego manufacturing? For me, it would have been great if they did 24 figures, all generic players one per country.
  19. You have double counted the "elvis" style hair for Egon Spengler. You have it on his head, but also higher up with the black and flesh versions.
  20. I hope not. I'd prefer available in UK (or even just England) with England players. While it would be great for those in Northern Ireland or Wales to get their players, I doubt the markets are big enough there. Plus it would be great to see Scottish collectors having to get a purely England team to be complete :-) That said, I'd prefer they did one minifig in generic (unnamed) strip for each country.
  21. I don't know. If they did a gold Mickey as a chase figure, with exactly the same parts as a regular Mickey, in the same series then it would make sense. I doubt they will, but it would be funny if they did, just to see all the posts comparing the weights of regular vs golden Mickey.
  22. Looking good :-) I won the unikitties lot last year, my daughter still loves them.
