  1. ...and because I, personally, have always thought the first six masks were the best. Just another attempt to articulate the first seven Toa, by way of being a small tribute to mark the end of the line. Please excuse my lack of ability with a camera. (I sincerely hope this image is not too big to load for people...) Flickr set here. Enjoy!
  2. Thanks guys! Well...actually, they're not minfig scale - not by quite a way. I did originally intend to make them in that size range but you can only attach that scale of wheel to 2x2 plates, which is hard to incorporate into a transforming mechanism. So I scaled up to a weird in-between scale and used Technic tyres. Some more: Chromedome: Originally an Autobot programmer with a sports car alt-mode. Now an Autobot programmer with a Mini-ish alt-mode. Arcee (Purple/Grey)/Chromia (Light Blue)/Nightracer (Dark Blue): You may have seen the explosion fest that was the second TF movie. You may have spotted a trio of unicycle Autobots with motorbike alt-modes. I mean them because I like 'em even if Mr Bay got bored and blew them to bits. Names picked as appropriate and at random. Colour schemes more or less happened as I went along. Blackjack: A remake of a semi-mainline Micromaster, updated for pun-tastic fun. I like the character's odds-weighing-up profile and picture him as a tactician and voice of sanity among the Decepticon task-force on earth. Oilslick: Um...there's that green dome piece...and he looks great in his Transformers Animated form...I kind of had to. The chain was a last minute addition but it works. Chemical warfare and road-hogging for all! That's all for this morning - more coming!
  3. So, I'm a transformers fan, but, if I'm honest, I've no been active in Transfandom for a while - couldn't get back into fan-fiction, lost enthusiasm for cgi stuff, severely annoyed at the current comic and film storylines etc - but this does not mean that my overriding urge to build transforming Lego models has diminished in the slightest. (This being the reason I got into TF fandom in the first place....well, actually it's to do with the Ladybird books that led into that and building crude Megatron and Soundwave models...long story) So, after a few brief asides into Space and Star Wars, allow me to present my latest and (to my mind at least) best creations on this theme. They all transform without parts-swap except for the weaponry, which is incorporated to strengthen the vehicle modes. Also, the application of a bit of blu tack has been necessary with some joints... In order: Jazz: First one built, as ever. Made a hover car version a while back and someone said it'd be better if I found a way to do wheels. So I did. A smooth special operations agent disguised as a Porsche. Ironhide: Fragile but I liked the look I got. Weapons expert with battered old truck alt-mode and big guns. Wheeljack: First time I've built the guy. It's the rarity of green bricks in my collection. He turned out extremely well, in my opinion. A mad scientist and a demon racer. Prowl: Basically an adapted version of the Jazz design, lengthened and adjusted for that SWAT guy look. Well, sort of. I'm pleased I managed to fit in the launchers and the gun. The straight-laced leader type. With added sticker as an experiment. Rack 'n Ruin: For two of my favorite characters, it's odd I've never built them before. Thought about it, never had enough green. So, did a bit of lateral thinking. My humble suggestion for the twins that could have been in the film and still sated Mr Bay's hunger for explosions. Wreck and rule! (If you get this, you are probably also a fan of Transformers...) Warriors conjoined after dreadful damage armed with hammer and anvil. Scalpel: Onto Decepticons, I thought he had a neat design so I tried to replicate it. Bear in mind that this guy is only about an inch and a half long when you consider his failure to be 'in disguise' in microscope mode. An evil doctor, who must, by law, speak with a high-pitched German accent. Wreckage: Ok...like the way he looks, hate the actual model. It's back heavy and a pig to balance right. But I was running out of bricks when I made him, so there's no way around it. And I don't have time to do a complete rebuild. Well, not now... An evil APC and gunner. As ever, there is more to come (I never build Lego-formers without having Starscream in there somewhere). Sorry for the delay but it takes a while to photograph foot-and-a-half long jets. Til then, sorry about the rather large display images (thought it'd save on space) and enjoy! Oh, and, your thoughts?
  4. These look great! I'm very impressed that you've been able to make them all from official products!
  5. Some villains because, frankly, that ship needed to be made. The idea for the shape was too good not to use. Flickr Set Flickr Set Enjoy!
  6. Thanks everybody! Ta! The Hobgoblins were based one some of the old space transports - perhaps I should have found something other than a single tail fin but I thought it looked nice. Yeah, I was pleased with how they turned out to! They were a sort of last-minute build too... I was pleased when I hit on the angled design.
  7. This is more in my occasional effort to rebuild Classic Space. I call it the Solar Federation and I rather like the colours. Nothing particularly serious here, just some fun with a few modeling techniques. 8. Thank you for the comments everyone! Excuse the long time before replying, I've had intermittent access to the internet since posting! Thanks. The decals are sellotaped on for lack of alternatives but I think they still count as that. They were done in Photoshop. The gold looks gold because...um, it printed that way! Thank you! I settled on white and dark blue because I'd used up most of my grey and wanted to be more interesting than just using plain old normal blue. I think it turned out rather well all told... Ah...yes...well...the larger ones are all broken up now but...well, guess where most of my grey bricks are now... :)
  9. Not exactly a frequent poster but then I spend half the year away from my Lego! So, without further ado: Brickshelf Folder sort of thing Enjoy!
  10. Oh, I like that Stargate! Wow, two threads started for my models without me having to do anything! Thank you for the interest! I've never posted on Lego boards before...so I doubt it! And you've hit the nail on the head - this is all supposed to be futuristic with historical elements rather than vise versa. I promise if I had intended to build a historical setting, I wouldn't have been so anachronistic! Never thought of that similarity, but you're right! And I'm glad you liked them so much! Thanks again for the coments! I realise they won't be to everyone's taste but bear in mind that they're not supposed to be historical!
  11. And I've at last done something about it! Thank you for the invitation and thanks to everyone for their kind words! I've lurked around these boards for quite a while now and was very surprised to find my work being commented upon! This 'electropunk' thing came about mainly from a desire to do something steampunkish and a lack of brown pieces and propellers! The ships came first, the frigate and the pirate ship, that is, followed by the mecha and the spider-castle - which I am quite proud of, especially since it can stand perfectly well on its legs. The castle, incidently, does have a - slightly sparse - interior which I will eventually photograph, but everything's had to be packed away due to redecorating. Again, thank you all very much for taking the time to comment on my creations - I hope I'll be able to build equally good things in the future! *classic*
