  1. About category B, you may team with another member, and you have to imagine a 700 max parts set and built it in both space pirates and classic pirates theme.
  2. That's correct
  3. Space Pirates characters I built as examples for the Space Pirates Contest. Droid John Miles "longshot" Henderson Clockwork Jim Peete the robot parrot Lady Angelique Smith Tohau the robo-tiki warrior Captain Darkbluebeard
  4. It's best if they are original, not linked to any theme except pirates. Robots are cool, but not all of your 6 "minifigs" should be brickbuilt robots, you have to use standard minifigs parts. No digital entries this time, sorry. The team can post an entry for cat B here, but the classic pirates sets could also be posted in the pirate forum. Thanks. That's was the purpose of the daily teaser pics
  5. Ever wanted to sail the immensity of space in the Caribbean galaxy? Or to ransack Spaceport Royal? Ever wanted to fought for your king and your governor against the rum filled space pirates? Join Captain Darkbluebeard and the Space Pirates or Governor Smith and the Imperial armada in the Space Pirates Contest!
  6. The Caribbean galaxy is a nice place to live. Each planetary system is protected by battalions of the imperial armada under the command of the Governor. Well it would be a nice place to live, if it wasn't for the space pirates! These lawless souls only hunger for riches, treasures and rum! The Governor do what he can to protect the civilians of the countless cities like Spaceport Royal to be ransacked by the pirates, while still looking for planets to conquer and the rumored treasures of the galaxy. It is said that near the core of the galaxy, the first inhabitants still live, defending fiercely their lands with their primitive technologies. Their temples are said to be guarded by robo-tiki warriors. About the space pirates theme Space pirates is about treasures, avoiding the Imperials and drinking in taverns... but in space! It's a fun theme that brings fun one-eyed-captains, grim soldiers and angry tiki warriors straight through the centuries to live more exciting adventures with robot parrots and laser saber (Any ressemblance to an existing franchise is purely coincidental). Categories A: Pirate Crew - Design and build a group of six (6) space pirate themed minifigs. Animals and imperial troops are welcome. B: Sailing the river of time - Tag with a fellow member to create two MOCs representing the same set, both in space pirate and classic pirate themes. C: Rum for everybody! - Open to any space pirate entries that don't fit in the other two categories. Rules First rule: have fun! For category A, brickbuilds robots or characters are allowed, just don't oversize them. Example of characters can be seen here. For category B, you must represent the same set in classic pirate theme and space pirate theme. Each set should have a maximum of 700 pieces (so aim at 600). The two sets must be similar in shapes, features and minifigures, only the theme change. The contest will run from 15th March to 30th April, 2015. As long as it's still April 30 somewhere in the world, you can still enter. Entries posted after the deadline will be disqualified. This contest is open to all EB members, even if they joined EB after the contest has begun, with the exception of the Sci-Fi staff, who are not eligible to win prizes. One entry per member and per category. You can enter all categories with different entries, but you'll be eligible to receive only one prize. All entries must be new creations, not posted anywhere else prior to being entered in the contest. You may be asked by a staff member to change your entry if it is too similar to an earlier creation. All entries must be built from real LEGO. No clone brands, no third-party custom parts, no digital entries. Custom sails and rigging are allowed. Non-Lego light sources are allowed as long as you mention it in your entry description. You can use official stickers or custom stickers. All entries must be posted as a new topic in the Sci-Fi forum, the title prefixed by, "[sPC] Cat X - ". (For example, "[sPC] Cat C - The dark grey pearl".) Post pictures no larger than 800x640, but you may link to bigger pictures. You may do a 'full-blown photo edit' with all the text, effects, background compositing, support erasing, and other effects on one picture. All your other pictures may have no editing other than color adjustment or background removal for a solid-color background. For obvious reasons, any photo editing that changes the shape, functionality, or color (not tint or adjustment, but actual color) of a LEGO piece is prohibited. All entries are considered WIPs (Works In Progress) until the deadline passes. Until the deadline has passed, you are allowed to change and improve your MOC. For each categories, EB staff will make a first selection, and then EB members will vote for their favorite entry among that selection. Prizes Prizes for category A: 1st place: #70409 Shipwreck Defense and #70166 Spyclops Infiltration 2nd place: #70409 Shipwreck Defense or #70166 Spyclops Infiltration Minifigures.com also offer one Pumpkin King to the first and second place winners of category A. 7. Guys remember that this topic is only for discussing Star Wars Lego set for 2015. So please stay on topic, thanks. And don't abuse of the spoiler tag.
  8. Really well realized. Good job
  9. Really nice depiction of Philae
  10. The next episode of our building game in the Star Wars universe is just starting so join one side and come play with us!
  11. I'm sorry Mike, but you really did an awfull job!! I received the package today, but my birthday was yesterday!! Seriously I'm disappointed in you...
  12. That's a rather amazing display!
  13. Thanks everyone for your kind comments Thanks for that BEAVeResque comment I have to agree with you on the white parts. I ended up using too much less white parts than intended, so the few there looks out of place. Maybe I'll replace them with light or dark grey. That's my first try at an interior, and I wanted an equivalent to the Falcon aesthetic.
  14. Thanks everyone That's what is planned, but I'm really not sure I'll be able to do a new big brickbuilt project this year. I'm making instructions for my smaller models, and hope to sell them in order to get some Lego budget as this year will be difficult for me, money wise... So anyone wanting instructions for one of the two speeder can send me a symbolic 1€ (or more if you think my work is worth it) on my paypal account: gaetanb[at]free.fr. Don't forget to mention in a note your email address and the model you want.
  15. I was close to lock that thread for being one of our usual spam advertising for a diet... Really nice and funny vignette
  16. Today Sci-Fi lost one of its most iconic actor. Leonard, wherever you are now, we'll not forget you.
  17. That's a really nice cave you got there!
  18. the windshield is a bit too low, but there's not many options. In real it doesn't look so bad, the picture makes it stand out a bit more. The windscreens hold things in place
  19. Finally got the time to take pictures of mk2
  20. Really interesting shape. Nicely done
  21. I don't consider myself a perfect builder (if that even exists), so it's always nice to get contructive critiques. I'm still not used to use the 2x2 inverted tiles, but that could have been a good improvement. Oh yes I get tired of working on the same model, so I often just drop it for weeks before continuing the work. Something I often do is looking at the model for some time just before going to bed. Being insomniac has some benefits More segments would be difficult, but I've been thinking of a 1-wide segments technique that I'll need to test one day.
  22. According to Eurobricks' rules, posting just for advertising and/or promoting project isn't allowed. Topic closed.
  23. Yep, it looks like a flying brick... I'm not totally satisfied by the end result. Thanks, I don't know that ship, but I'll have a look Thanks for your feedback BEAVeR You expected something like this for the engines? I think I neglected some small details, while building some more important elements. At first I didn't intended it to have an interior, but when I made that choice, I had to change a lot of things. For example, the corridor that lead to the cockpit isn't very nice, but I was limited by the width, the mandible attachment points, and the angled parts where the cannon are. If I had put an escape pod, I should have placed it inside the ship, and I didn't had much space. The entrance has to be placed here because that was the only place where I could put a retractable ramp as it was close to the ground. Concerning the interior, it was a first for me. And I just couldn't add all the details I wanted. There's not even a bathroom on that ship. I could have add a small room, but at the cost of other details, like the speeder that is in the way of all the rear half of the interior space. I tried to have some MF references, like the turrets, the curved couch, the doors/corridors... But the MF is a lot more bigger! I'd like to go to more LEGO exhibitions, but Belgium is too far away...
  24. Thanks. You should have noticed that I don't do much LDD MOCs since some times now That's nice indeed, but my true target is BEAVeR. He didn't commented, and that may be a sign that he has nothing to say. And that would be a great victory
