Lego Cars & the Fuel Crunch
The Bricksmith replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The 8 wide cars are monsters, way way too big. Yes there is some detail but the make my dragon look small. I agree that 6 wide is the best, 2 minifigs and some details are the way to go. It is more green taking 2 people for 6 wide than 1 for 4 wide. But when gas is really high i prefer the catapult to move my troops around town. -
The Dark Knight versus the Strawman
The Bricksmith replied to Batbrick's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Great work! The tan log pieces work well for the wheat field and give a nice vertical look to the overall vig, just like real wheat would. The switching of the scarecrows wizards hat to the straw mans other cap is well done. What about a line up of you medievil batman minifigs before castle month ends? -
I just ordered the complete weapons pack along with some other extra weapons because of this great review. How about one of Brickforge?

Yesterday i picked up 7093 skeleton tower because it was on sale for half off. So now i have 2 of these sets and still no room to display them.

I remember playing that game when I was younger, it was awesome! The amount of detail and side quests in that game were amazing. Many a night I spent glued to the computer over that one.

Which would you prefer in a new Wild West theme-
The Bricksmith replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I voted for the US Soldiers, I think having a faction of CSA Soldiers would be a bad move and many people would freak out over it. BTW there were some WW people who fought in the civil war. Like Jesse James and his crew. IMO a good WW theme would be around 1849 and the Cali gold rush and the expansion to the west. Although a Tesla MiniFig from the time he was in Colorado Springs would rock. -
Lets see today I finished my homework for my Botany class and looked online how to get a new state drive license which I will hopefully do Friday between classes. And the best part was my PaB order arriving!

The first rule of MOC Expert is don't talk about Moc Expert, The second rule of Moc Expert is don't talk about Moc Expert... I think the tags are useful and as far as Fabuland since it is an old series i think the tag is usefull. Could it link to the Fabuland pages perhaps?

I live in WA and all of my order came from the mid west so it really did not take too long, like 9 days for the PaB order
-
I just recently ordered from both S@H and PaB. I received my regular order in about 3 days and today I got my PaB order today with no problems. I "picked" 4 crownie minfigs and some crates and a lot of what not that I didn't have> Everything was there and so far seems to work well. I will definitely be using PaB in the future.

Every year I look for a Dragon to slay and I still have not found one. Other than Dragon slaying what would an appropriate celebration be?

Because of the ease of sending emails and what not almost all large business and politicians give a higher weight to a written letter, usually on the order of 15-20 to 1. Writing to Wal Mart On!
-
Awe inspiring. thats all I have to say.
-
I will happily join you Brickster, oddly enough the same thing happened to me again. The display and sets were still out and still you could not but them. Yes i know i said i was not going to Wal Mart again but i needed 1 single glass because i broke it during dinner...anyway... I am unsure about any policy about if you display it and price it you have to sell it. As wal mart goes they kinda do whatever they want. As soon as you can find the address post it and i will write them as well.

Fabuland Builders Guild - Discussion Thread
The Bricksmith replied to Shadows's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I have a question about Fabuland. Why is it so different from the regular Lego lines? Looking on Brickset i noticed it was around for 10 years and yet the theme was so different from all of the others. From the way the mini figs looked to their construction and the over all "feel" of the set was unique. So can any one enlighten me about this long lost Lego series? -
Log Pieces vs. Regular Bricks
The Bricksmith replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I agree about the lack of horizontal log pieces and how in reality most houses and what not where logs felled and laid horizontal. But IMO i don't think the Viking fortress would look as good as it did without the log walls and pieces. Just a simple piece and yet the entire look and feel of something can be changed. What about doing some SNOT with the logs and seeing what that would look like? -
Steampunk is an awesome idea but popular reference to it is obscure. Not to mention that Morgan19 MOC's are things of beauty that should not be replicated for everyone to have. There are many other themes i would rather see than a steampunk one.

Wal Mart is a giant world wide business and has one of the most advanced stock systems in the world. Here in the US 20 min from the time something is bought at your local store the item is shown being sold at the main HQ of evil and is automatically reordered. I am not going to blame the poor clerks for doing their job but the management that does not know what they are doing. you are correct in saying that it would be wrong to see the items early but they need to be responsible and not display the products until they can be sold.
-
Dwarf: If you want the job you are going to have to ride the bike while playing the horn. Troll: Better than Wal-mart
-
the frustrating part is that they are displayed and you can not buy them. Every other store has them but keeps them in the back, and yet Wally world has them out for all to see and then go through the process of being denied. I mean come on, and this is the reason i will probably just wait and go some where else to purchase these.
-
Same thing happened to me yesterday at 2 wal marts. nice large displays in the middle of the aisle and everything. talk about frustrating.
-
Well good news and bad news. my order from lego.com arrived with an extra doc and patient thrown in which was cool. but then i went down to Wally world and found the new indy sets out and went to the check out and nothing... the register said no sale for all three sets. even after there was a huge display of them in the middle of the aisle and everything. so undaunted i went to another wal mart and the same thing happened. i could not believe it. both stores had the sets out and displayed but you could not buy them. talk about frustrating. so i will never shop at wally world again, i will just have to be calm and wait till TRU or some where else stocks them.

Do you play with your lego?
The Bricksmith replied to hollisbrick's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I do a little of each, but usually i play when my wife is else where, other wise she make fun of me. Also i enjoy getting a group of my Crownies together to try and take down the mythic beasts of my house, the dog and cat, the wifes dog of course is off limits. and then the castle sets i display for awhile. -
I had to vote to Kill it, it is an unique series but as many people have said before the story line is predictable and uninspired. Unfortently though if the line is selling well and keeps TLG in the black then they need to keep it. I would like to see something that incorporates the mind storms with the Bionicle maybe programmable robots? Or even power function on a castle line? i don't know.

Currently I am running 27 Crownies, 17 Skelies, 6 trolls, and 1 orc and 1 bad wizard. Although would you count the "dead" Skelies like the ones from the Indy sets?
