  1. Much appreciated guys and gals. As for adding an entrance, I toyed with a wooden dock out the front but the brown dominated the foreground and broke up the feel of doom. Lets just call it a inaccessable castle
  2. Abyssian Abyssian, perched atop craggy rocks amongst the Moruth Swamplands of Nocturnus, this is a most inhospitable place and home to Lord Ssilyrrlith, current leader of the Nocturnus Guild. He is surrounded by his loyal Reptrians and mystics who use the strange Orion sphere to scrye possible futures. I was looking to create my first full castle build and wanted to achieve a remote, isolated yet claustrophobic feel with many tall spires and towers crammed in together. Hope you guys like the look and feel. It has been a long time coming for me to represent my Guild. Loads more on Flickr and MOCPages as well. Feel free to comment and critique. Cheers ISC.
  3. Happy birthday to our favorite archeologist and MCW Moderator!
  4. Angeli can you make room in your PM inbox, I am trying to PM you. Cheers ISC/your boss! Skyrimguy, please don't requote an entire post, just edit it to the part you need to comment on, like Dr Rod. Welcome Abu Dun.
  5. has done built a castle

  6. A massive effort indeed, well done. Are there any planes to light up the interior? The inside is huge, but I feel could benefit with a little dressing up, like perhaps some tiling in main walkways just to break up all those studs, but really that is just a tiny criticism, it really is hard to find fault in such a great build. The use of the smaller ties work well as it makes the scale one what more achievable. Impressive, most impressive.
  7. Welcome aboard Mark, I have been enjoying your work on Flickr for some time now and it will be great to have you contribute here as well. Good times.
  8. I think dark bley would be nicer with red on the inside. Perhaps some dark red features too. Dark bley photographs better than black as well.
  9. Well done on a mammoth undertaking Sirens, the builds and effort put into the story are just exceptional. May I ask how you achieved the mould look in the dungeon? Is it trans green plate on trans clear? I look forward to where you go next!
  10. With such amazing work like this, the two of you deserve all the praise you get. Truly a great creation. Was it modular again to aid in setting up?
  11. People have been demanding more zombies since series 1 came out, so this is pretty cool way to throw in some more to help sell a large set like this
  12. Sounds like a great idea Hexx, and would certainly be a huge undertaking to construct that whole picture Good to see a few of you guys getting in on the mini challenge There is still life in Nocturnus yet! Sadly still waiting on two BL orders to finish off my castle and it is now the weekend, so nothing to be done till they arrive
  13. A great dio incorporating some amazing figures in my opinion. Top job.
  14. Sounds like a great back story Hersbrucker, great job. I look forward to how you flesh it out. Lord Ssilyrrlith's slaves have all but completed Abyssian, just awaiting some stone deliveries to finish off the walls.
  15. All entries are allowed to receive votes rogue Li, everything has been cleared up. I will work out the final tally when the thread closes in a weeks time. I will sift through who is allowed to vote at that point etc. thanks for your help. I assume you are going to set your vote visible as well?
  16. Challenge 4: Elemental Mayhem Just a quick reminder to all the members who haven't cast their vote for the Challenge 4 entries to head on over to the voting thread and take a look. With 24 stunning entries and only 5 points to go around, it's no easy task! Voting closes 29/8/12 9pm Australian time.
  17. I blame Cadarnosaurus Rex cause he is the root of the whole problem if we are playing the blame game! I moderate Cadarnosaurus Rex because I am back as a Moderator, so look out!
  18. Eurobricks rookie Hinckley brings us a fantastically detailed and well photographed review of the Lord of the Rings: Mines of Moria 9473 So head over to the Historic forum to read, vote and even comment on what is a great looking set with loads of playability!
  19. A fine build indeed Beerbeard, that is one bountiful garden! Digging the interiors and crisp photos in addition to a nicely designed safe house. Can I ask whether the roof shape determined the building design or the other way around?
  20. Oh this is special Mikey, it has such lovely composition and colours, other members could serve to take a look at the way you have compiled the angles of the MOC and colours in addition to the camera shots to frame a moving piece of work. Top shelf!
  21. I guess its the flatness of the wall and the starkness of the colours. I think a bit of depth would do it the world of good. If the black was tiles attached to the white walls it would give it the feel of layering rather than the one-level appearance. Generally the Tudor tops come out further than the stonework beneath as well. Hope this helps explain it somewhat.
  22. A well polished, cool creation Ecclesiastes. Love the angled brick walls, the Wyvern, and of course the inner dwellings. Great job all round and exceptional as a free build.
  23. Thanks guys, I never really left, but it's nice to be able to keep the fun times rolling on Eurobricks again. I hope you all still enjoy the History Forum in its many and varied functions. You're just lucky it's a sweet megablocks Thanks Dillon, you were my predecessor and you helped make History successful in the first place.
