  1. Uh...you do know "Legos" isn't a word, right? Other than that it's good...I like the sideways log pieces being used for part of the roof, and the power line. Where do those grey log pieces come from?
  2. And what happens to people who try to punch you in the face? Do they get whipped? I build my designs with studs, as I don't have a googolplex parts and I think it looks fine, but studs vs. studless on others' MOCs doesn't really matter to me. They're just different, that's all.
  3. Wow...just wow... It makes me sad in a way...I have only about 14000 elements, and I'll need at least 10 times as many to compete with you people. Whenever I want to make something big, I have to start with a jillion BURPs/LURPs and castle walls... Excellent mountain, with all those dark grey slopes. I really like those trees too, and the use of those smaller leaf and stem parts for undergrowth. Nice use of alternating normal and 1*1 round bricks for the corners too.
  4. On the other hand, the vertical logs are good for palisade walls.
  5. Cool. I love that water pipe! Nice use of colour to suggest the desert setting. It looks like mud bricks or adobe (not the PDF reader, but the building material). Good work!
  6. Lego makes cows? That MOC looks awesome. I wish I had a lot more tree stuff...I like your concept of the trolls inhabiting abandoned structures. I came up with something similar about 2 years ago for a failed fantasy story.
  7. Yeah, I also would have preferred horizontal ones, and also a 1*1 log piece. Did they make them in sizes other than 1*2, 1*4, and the "castle wall"?
  8. Hmm, maybe that's why when I was looking through the Factory gallery yesterday, most of the sets were unavailable. Why would Lego do that? Don't they know they're messing everyone up?
  9. I sort by type only, not colour, and I group a lot of similar types if I only have a few parts from each. My categories are mostly in plastic bags as I don't have many multi-compartment thingies or small drawers. Yet...
  10. Yeah, the open towers are kinda funny, although they were also typical of (for instance) 90s pirate sets. The trolls' vehicles are cool though. They look evil. I can't wait to start collecting '08 Castle sets...(I didn't buy any Castle in '07, I only got one set for Xmas, so I'm catching up on the '07 stuff first before it's all sold out)
  11. I'm not saying Lego only releases sets based on movies, I'm just saying Wild West stuff isn't so popular today...when my parents were growing up in the 50s and 60s, it was hugely popular. So maybe that it's now rather out of the public consciousness, Lego is reluctant to do much of anything with it. Fantasy is in right now, hence the castle stuff, but it's been popular for many years and Lego let the mediaeval line really stagnate with the KK2 stuff. And I also wonder why Lego isn't cashing in on Pirates of the Caribbean with more pirate sets.
  12. I have a feeling that a large portion of wulf's figs are from the chess set.
  13. If there are such sets, they probably will. I have a feeling Lego won't bring back WW though. When was the last time a "Western" movie was hugely popular?
  14. Probably people have different ideas of where the line between minifig and non-minifig is. Every time I try to define the line, I think of something that ends up on the "wrong" side in my opinion. Like I could say anything designed to represent a sentient being is a minifig, which excludes stuff like horses, but there are still ambiguities. Are robots sentient? What about dragons? I would say yes to both but I don't really think of the dragon as a minifig (maybe because it's so big). If castle skellies are controlled, are they sentient? I'd still class them as minifigs.
  15. Dearer? I don't understand. Like rarer? Or more expensive?
  16. Yeah, the Castle line has a lot of small sets with a lot of figs, which is good. It seems to me that in the 90s a small set would probably just have 1 fig, and now we have sets like the ballista with 3 figs for only 5,29 euro. And I'm glad Lego is finally realizing people want battle packs and other sets with lots of figs (like the chess set). Counting the set I still have in Detroit, I have 38 Castle figs, and I'm only starting...
  17. Uh...what do you mean by "custom dwarves"?
  18. Interesting, brick-built horses. When did the horses used today first appear? The "LEGOLAND" castle sets of the 80s? Too bad the 1996-1997 WW theme never got a lot of the things the old WW sets had.
  19. Here I currently have 17 on each side (knights and skeletons). I don't have any trolls or dwarves yet.
  20. Lego probably just ran out of ideas. One thing I really like about the Wild West theme is that they had a lot of "city" and/or "everyday life" sets like the Native American villages and the town sets (like bank and general store). Now, if Lego could do that with Castle...
  21. Yeah, I hated those Jack Stone "minifigs" too. When I saw them in a 4+ Juniors set, I seriously thought Lego had abandoned the minifig! I wondered why they'd do that, as the new ones tower over the old ones, and one of the best things about the normal minifigs was that you could swap parts to create different-looking figs, like using a girl head with a knight body for a female knight, etc.
  22. I don't like Bionicle either in itself, but I recognize its role in saving Lego from possible financial ruin.
  23. That chess set looks awesome...hopefully the price on it will drop before they're sold out. I would buy one for the parts and figs.
  24. Peeron says I have 13199 parts, and I may have missed some sets or mis-identified them. Actually, I know I missed some sets. Converting into real money, I find that they're worth a total of 1037.96 euro.
  25. For some odd reason, I find the concept that the moon is made of cheese to be funny.
