You can find, and check the price, of these buildings here: salvobrick at lego factory Very nice, and the supermarket and apartments would fit in in my town. But I'd have to make them simpler and cheaper to start with and perhaps add details (and floors) later on.

Grimer and Röskva lives in the almost-standard 4996. Which is a rather cramped house, but I decided they needed a bed anyway. Only space I could find was over the stairs. Decided to make a virtual mock-up of the upper floor to see if the bed I was planning would fit. It does and looks quite all right:

Very well done. Captures the look of the truck and uses ingenious techniques.
-
I had to ask what the front is due to: It's a tool box. After a bit of market research, it was found that what will sell best this year is small cars. These are the upcoming designs. LDD file with all five cars

As it turned out Röskva's new car wouldn't pass quality control, she needed another vehicle. Grimer's brother Rustan had a car on order, and as his house isn't built yet (so he doesn't live in town yet), Röskva gets to borrow his. She's really fond of the baggage compartment, so I guess her new car will have something similar.

I found I had to make a small change to the design to make it more robust. Unless you let the hinge rotate 90 deg, it's a bit easy to make the load carrying part break off. If you want to retain the hinge, raise it by one plate. Me, I found a larger, stronger hinge. I think two of them, in different colours, would make good presents for my nephews. Seems it would work quite fine as a 4-wheeler too, so I'm planning on trying a slightly shorter variant.

Well, the difficulty shooting in this situation is firing 6 shots in 6 seconds at three different targets. Grimer and Röskva have been working in their yard, which now features a small pond. The man in black is Mr Inconnu, who is just visiting.
-
This is what the evolution would have looked like: Felt like a solid design, but when letting LDD make the building instructions it became obvious it really isn't. So it's back to the (virtual) drawing board.
-
The rest I can agree with, but this is a design feature which will remain in the next, improved, version. Headlights will be moved up a bit, so there can be sort of a reason for it.
-
First, a public building: A shooting range. Today it's field shooting, so the circular black targets are put to the side.
-
First a small excavator. It's built partly from an old 642 set, where unfortunately some parts (including the rear shovel) won't fit together well after being stored assembled 20+ years. Smaller wheels gotten from some Legoland car or other and adapted for a minifigure. The handles fits into his hands. Second is an electric sports car for Röskva. It looks OK, but it's not a good design as it's too un-robust. I'll disassemble it and use the parts for a similar (but also 5 studs wide) design later on.
-
I did. But a bit changed. Had to be edited for parts availability and while I was at it I added some cab detail. And edited it for colour preference as well. Looks very good and the articulation works very nicely.
-
Nice colours, they go well together. Only problem I see with them is that the green of the walls is the same as the green of the ground, so I'd add a low differently-coloured foundation at the bottom of the walls.
-
Very nice! My town could use something like it, but probably only one level.
-
Re-made to make it stronger and allowing the rear wheel to turn. It's also grown a bit, so I'm not so sure it's worthwhile as a tiny three wheeler any longer. 3-wheeler LDD file
-
I think it's coal or cinders, which shows us which kind of locomotives are used. Great station, if I had space for one, I'd make a similar one.
-
Looks like I intended, but I'm thinking about trying to get the front wheels inwards 1/2 stud to make it even smaller. Suspect the half stud offset rear wheel attachment is too weak to make it playable: Will have to test that when I get parts enough. 3-wheeler LDD file

Just a nice evening in the garden.
-
It's now gotten a spare wheel at the back, two passenger and a new driver (Röskva). It won't actually be driven around, as one track is close to breaking.
-
Good point. It's a holdover from an earlier iteration and doesn't serve much purpose now.
-
My town is small, so it doesn't have a library of its own. Instead a book-bus comes a couple of times per week. I intend for it to look something like this: However, I'm not used to work with LDD, so perhaps someone can help me by pointing out less than good techniques I've used and would have noticed if I was prototyping with bricks and plates? mla.lxf

It has evolved from a rather high design to a more reasonable to get out and into. This is almost the same as the previous, but with another angled windscreen, blue with yellow trim instead of the other way round and no rear overhang. This is the Mk1, which started out as a mod of the 7731 postal car:

Especially when the load bearing structure isn't fixed to the vehicle. No mini-fig injuries, but someone called for an ambulance anyway. (Set #373 and 371, circa 1970.)
-
I'd do it, as there's usually is one for employees and re-stocking.
