  1. Thats not really true. Post-apoc can be anything that you see fit. Mostly darker colors though. I like the junker look of it (could use a sail barge sail though :-P ), but the figs don't really appear to be post apoc at all. They look more like a bunch of cyborgs :-/ -Chuck
  2. Those MOCs are by Dan Sibley and Keith Goldman, respectively. -Chuck
  3. Join! If you don't have flickr, sign up ;-) -Chuck
  4. On the contrary, the "Nazi" face is the Bruce Wayne face. -Chuck
  5. Good idea, but this system is kind of already in use. For example, one could find castle reviews here. -Chuck
  6. I kind of see your point, but remember: Lego is a building toy, meaning that it can be modified. You don't have to keep it as-is after you buy it. You can probably just make it the same design as that small promo set, if you see to it. I don't mean to be rude, but come one, guys :-/ The purpose of Lego is to encourage creative building, so you should expand upon what you have if you don't like it. -Chuck
  7. *Whack*! ;-) -Chuck
  8. That is my purpose here: using so-called "illegal" techniques to annoy you :-P -Chuck
  9. By the way, here is a picture of 2008 cargo plane for the convienence of other members :-) -Chuck Edit by Hinckley: just wanted to change the pic to make sure people didn't confuse legobear's sentiment. He is comparing the blue and white plane to the new yellow plane... ;-)
  10. Thats because they are different types of vehicles. Maybe if the technic rods were covered in those 1x2 technic cylinders. I didn't say that MOC 2 was perfect, either ;-) Also, mind you that this is my personal opinion, and I feel like you are trying to tell me that my opinion is wrong :-/ -Chuck
  11. You misunderstood what I was saying. I wasn't comparing it to the other MOC, I was saying that giving it two different color tones of grey help contribute to the steampunk look of it. They are both very nice MOCs, such as unique part usage and function on both parts, but they both also have their weak points. For instance, MOC 1, while having steampunk qualities, doesn't exhibit how the side rotors would be able to spin, as there is a lack of hoses to connect the engine to the rotor base. Also, the technic rods doesn't quite fit in with steampunk if it is too exposed as so. Also, some parts that are boxy have potential to not be boxy, i.e. where the side rotors connect and the base. Those flaws aside, I love the Victorian-Era Helicopter look and the use of rock raider canopies. On to MOC 2. I liked the use of SNOT, bley to contrast with grey, and the Asian hat as a boilerplate. But this too, has its flaws. One thing that I immediatley noticed was the lack of an exhaust pipe for the steam or even a place for the steam to build up (unless the second shovel without a flag is an exhaust pipe). Another thing I didn't like was the side "missle rack" (?) which I feel should be replaced with a gatling gun of some kind. Once again, great job on both MOCs, but after a long and thurough examination I chose MOC 2. -Chuck
  12. I would actually argue that that makes it look MORE steampunk. -Chuck
  13. I almost went to the Lego Store this weekend for 7036 Dwarves Mining, but I called beforehand and found out that it would be in by this weekend. Lego Store on! -Chuck
  14. This little vignette is, in fact, a preview of a much larger diorama. -Chuck
  15. Non-Europeans...on Eurobricks? This is blasphemy! This is madness! :-P -Chuck
  16. That would be muzzle flash :-P -Chuck
  17. A charging Bravo-Kilo Sub-Chieftan's death at the hands of a battle hardened marine with a standard issue BR55HB SR Battle Rifle during the Second Battle of Earth. Circa 2552 Inspired by the Halo 3 "Believe" commercials. Battle rifle design by Flickr member d3vonjj. -Chuck
  18. Unfortunatley, that is not for me to decide. Only time will tell, my friend. -Chuck
  19. I will try as hard as I can to express the remorse I have for my actions in the past years that I have been a member here. I have done many unspeakable things while being a member here, such as flame another person's creation, borrow another person's design and not give due credit, and in general being an megablocks. I say to all of you, not only those who I have wronged, but everyone, because if I hurt one person, it hurts the whole community, as we are a family. I apologize to those whose creations I have cast aside as being "unworthy", even though all creations are worthy and should be given proper care to. I apologize to anyone who I have mocked. I apologize to the Admins, who have had to put up with my childish antics for some time now. And last but not least, I apologize to all the members as a whole, for just not being the good member I should be. For instance, I may think that I am "all that" because I have a way with building well and have some good designs. But that is not being a good member, being a good member is helping other members, posting news, and having a good additude in general. If there is anyone else who I have wronged in the past, please come forth in this topic or through PM, MSN, or AIM (if privacy is an issue) so that I may apologize to you directly. If you want me to put it simply, I am sorry. -Chuck
  20. Well, Hydraxon is 10$ less, if money is an issue. But for 10$ more, you get some pretty great parts (i.e. 2 dark bley ignika masks). Tough choice, indeed. -Chuck
  21. You'd think exclusive sets like these would come out near the general area where lego was created *wacko* But then again, you guys do get all the new years sets earlier then us in the States. -Chuck
  22. For those of you wondering what a "sigfig" is, it is a personal avitar that represents oneself in lego form, whether it be a fabuland figure, a regular minifig, or even a small mecha. Here is an example, showing my sigfig: If somebody has already posted a topic like this recently, please close this. Thanks! -Chuck
  23. LOL! Usually the problem new members have with pictures is that they are too big! Anyways, from the pics you gave us (which being as clear as they are, don't need bigger pics ;-) ), the non-winged helmets look like the helmets on the preliminary trolls/goblins/orcs. -Chuck
  24. With Gravity Hammer. With marine and Brute Shot. Expect the Brute Chopper and other things from the brute sandbox in the future! Enjoy! -Chuck
  25. Why thank you, *yoda*... -Chuck
