Heroica RPG - Expert Job Class Discussion
Vash the Stampede replied to LEGOman273's topic in The Heroica Archive
Basically the shield and job traits have been altered. I'm not exactly sure how track down fits in but it's a good class. -
I fail to see the problem.

Dreyrugr Lv 50 Ancient HP: 600/600 Specials: Tricksy Theifs: Deals 25 damage to the hero who rolled SP Damage and steals half of the items that they possess. Untraceable Frenzy: Using vast speed and power Dreyrugr deals damage equal to his level a number of times equal to the number of participants on the opposing team +1. These strikes are dealt randomly against enemies and several strikes against the same enemy will stack to surpass SP. (As with multiple free hits) Specials Alternate Passive Specials: Hidden Arsenal: Much about this character is unknown and surprising. Each round he will gain a random positive effect and deal a random negative effect. These will disappear after three rounds. Straightforward Assault: Using his techniques to break through or go around enemy SP he will ignore half of the enemies SP and will ignore rows. Vampiric Resurrection: You thought you could win? Upon hitting zero health he will be as he was at the start of battle (No positive or negative effects and health lost). The enemy will also lose all positive effects they have. (Will keep stolen loot) Drops: Vampire Stuff (He's a vampire, bound to have awesome stuff) + Whatever stolen

"Not really, unless you plan to stalk the Monk till the end of his days he'd have no trouble choosing a time when you're not around. Even then he can put up a decent fight, he probably could go through you anyway. Not that I know how skilled you are." "Fear you think? If that helps you sleep better at night then go ahead. But don't you think it's a tad obvious you're up to malicious manipulation when you suddenly seem to be on his side again after having from your own mouth said that the world is better off without him?"
-
Dreyrugr notices a poor fellow getting told off by the monk. "Don't mind him, the most moralistic being in the world that isn't completely human by heritage is evil in his books. So if I were you I'd watch my back, he'll be more than happy to change its appearance by adding something sharp."
-
So, what blaspheming demonic half animal is Pretzel going to become?
-
"Thanks." Dreyrugr returned to an empty table.
-
Dreyrugr noticed an Ogre place a sign that he was selling Scythe's. Can't hurt to have another sharp blade. "Greetings, I'll pay 115 gold for one of those Scythe's."

I'd say adding a dash of A.I would work. It wouldn't nullify things that people have worked hard on to achieve and makes logical sense. Though rather than forcing a stalemate I think something else needs to happen. If an enemy cannot beat heroes due to distance or another reason why would they stare at them until they do something? I'm not sure I'd go with this. If you are an non ether user and later become an ether user and then later swap to another class which doesn't use ether, or an ether user that swaps to a non ether class, by this logic all of your permanent boosts to ether would be reset which would make ether boosts in general less appealing wouldn't it? What's to say the ordinary citizen doesn't have some untapped ether skill somewhere in them?

Dreyrugr walks into the hall, he almost chuckled inside thinking that whatever had happened for once couldn't be blamed on him. Dreyrugr walked over to the quest board. I'm done with investigations, where's something simple. Heroes unafraid of demons, ironically fits the picture perfectly. Dreyrugr signs his name under Quest #85: Visions of an Unblinking Terror. Somewhat tired of his investigations Dreyrugr heads over to an empty table and sits down.

Heroica RPG - Quest Masters' Lounge
Vash the Stampede replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
Great quest, I really had fun. All the characters were interesting. Even the Necromancer we met for 5 seconds seemed real. All the NPC's were interesting and I can't say anything about them that someone else has already mentioned. They were great. I liked the underground city, makes it seem like there is still so many unfound items waiting to be discovered. The sets were good in my opinion. Even if they had holes in it part of it is making sure no one can see them so good job with that. The battles were definitely the long part but it was all fun. I think DLL probably did the worst in terms of loot but the bolas are still pretty good so overall I think the whole party got some pretty nice stuff. The only aspect of this quest that I didn't like was near the beginning where we deduced that a Blue Assassin was the murderer based off a piece of blue cloth. It might've been a possibility but it didn't seem that likely to me, but maybe that's just be nitpicking at details cause it was correct in the end. Overall I this is one of my favourite quests I've been on. It even went the correct number of pages. Now it's no secret, Pretzel utterly hates Dreyrugr but I still find him interesting. Pretzel I'd say is the most overboard character and some of the pointless debates were interesting. Good job on being PL. I must also say it was interesting to see DLL on this side of the QM, player line. Sylph being somewhat similar to Dreyrugr (well at least I partially think so) I'll definitely be watching how Sylph reacts in the future. Now how many quests has Dreyrugr been on with Nessa and I still end up surprised. You can learn all that there is to know about her ways in a month, and yet after a hundred years she can still surprise you at a pinch. I'm interested to know what the weird spirits following her around and taking control of her are. I've had to scratch off the list that Nessa is crazy so I'm half stumped. As for Erik, every party needs a mediator and Erik is that to a T. I'd like to see some backstory from Erik. We know he is one of the most peaceful characters around but we don't know much about him at all. A lover of peace but somehow ended up in heroica. I'd like to see what exactly made him join heroica. As well as some backstory as to why he is so accepting of everyone, even the plain evil ones seem to earn a small place in his heart. All and all, a great quest from QM to players in my opinion. Well it's always good to get QM feedback. As for not exploding or falling into depression I'd say the age factor has a lot to do with it. If he was much younger he probably would but after 1000 years of knowing people I'd say he's gotten way past the depression factor and would keep a cool head all the time. As for being a Black Knight you have DLL to thank for that. When making Dreyrugr I originally wanted him to be a Black Knight but later thought that Assassins are generally a bit better but then with one of the worst pieces of luck Dreyrugr was knocked out in one round from full health I believe (I did the calculations somewhere, it was legit 1 in some number over 200 chance of getting knocked out in one round). From there I figured SP really is an important part of the game and seeing how I didn't really have too much of an inventory to support Assassinating I went to Black Knight for the 9 SP (since risen). I'm going to go Assassin at some point for the gold gaining but I think one more quest of a Black Knight just for the SP. Seems I somewhat choose ok in that regard cause the SP definitely helped during this quest. I am glad Dreyrugr is coming off as level headed but the truth is no QM (or player but it would be easier for a QM) has yet found the right buttons to push to make him abandon that. I wonder how long that will last. Sorry, maybe I should've made the sarcasm a little more obvious. I wasn't sure how it was going to happen but I was rather confident we could get it around the characters somehow so that there wouldn't be a bias against everyone in loot, so I wasn't worried about it at all. And what do you know we made it. -
Well technically Dreyrugr has been part of Heroica slightly longer than Nessa. Doesn't that make you the stalker?

Heroica RPG - Quest #69: The Hook on the Other Hand

Well technically I had a shield already with immune to fire but yeah fair enough, I got some good stuff this quest. "Depends, maybe or maybe not. I'd say it's coincidence but provided you don't die we will probably quest again sometime, I've got plenty of years to spare." Dreyrugr noticed Pretzel grabbing something that looked like a steak. Dreyrugr chuckled to himself. Looks like here's the next person trying to kill me. Dreyrugr left now without a word and travelled back to the hall. -
We have another 10 posts I think. We should be good. Though if it somehow ends up to being 70 pages rather than 69 there will be murder.

"Sorry but it seems rather rare. I think I'll hold onto it for later. If I do decide to sell though I'll put you first on the list." So another year and a half or so till Necromancer and I actually can use it. -

"I'm sure that we will probably hear similar stories back at the hall and eventually this strange organisation will come to light. By the way I'm not interested in the gloves, not that you'd care." "Now Sylph, you still have a scroll of mine I'd like back if you please." -

Acolyte C should have 59 health as 109-50=59 not 69. But we all know you just want to put that number in one more time. Finally hitting something again Dreyrugr attacks Acolyte C from the front row. -

Dreyrugr attacks Acolyte A, C or B from the front row. -
One day I will be rich and imbue something with immune to blindness. For such a basic affect its really being a pain. No need to jack up levels to make enemies hard. Just stick an effect that most of the party isn't immune to in the sp damage section and you're good to go.

So the blind one gets a shield. Seems about right. Dreyrugr throws a bone at Acolyte B from the back row unless he is rooted by Sylph where he attacks Acolyte B from the front row. -

Should've known. Can we work off Endgame's system where 6's are shields and 1's are sp damage. No? Darn it. Back to making sacrifices to the Random Number Goddess.
