Welcome from Canberra! Or should I say, welcome back to lego. I re-emerged a few years ago and its cost me a pretty penny since. Like you, I think I have far more lego now than I did as a kid. And far more large sets - never used to get them as a kid.

918 - Classic Space One Man Ship. This was the first set I got that I can remember. I built it and took it apart so many times when I was a kid. I could build it from memory. A few years ago I got it from the lego trove at my parent's house. It was missing the cockpit roof (4x6 trans yellow plate) - I need to pick a new one up. More recently there are too many good sets to pick just one.

Hmmm you could build a super sized version with a couple of those sets! Wish I could find some of these insane deals, my local stores never seem to have that kind of incredibly low clearance prices.

Wow, I didn't see this when it was first posted. An absolutely beautiful diorama. The tile roofs are brilliant. But the pictures of the engines and their real life counterparts really makes it clear how well you've captured reality in brick form. First rate!

Wish someone had told me this when I emerged from my dark ages! I have waaay too many unbuilt sets, including an AT-AT from 2007. Its a slippery slope...

I like it, although I think the sides are a bit high - they hide the dwarves!

I too just completed the fire brigade last night - a build I split over about 4 sessions. Really enjoyed it. I've had it in the box for at least a year and only just got around to it recently. I also have a second one which I bought for parts, althought I might build the second floor from it to give myself a three story fire brigade. ;-)
