  1. This is pretty cool. The landing pad is a nice touch.
  2. Very nice. The Great Wall and Easter Island figures are my favorites.
  3. Excellent call on the wings. Adding just a bit of detail improved the look significantly. I added a corresponding dark grey piece to the bottom as well. I want to thank everyone for their comments and suggestions. I mainly got back into Lego to help reduce stress and this and my other ADU projects have been a ton of fun.
  4. I added some Harrier style thrusters which is what I had intended all along but it just now hit me how to make them. Unfortunately they don’t rotate. As you can see the landing gear do retract. It isn’t very elegant but it is functional. They simply rotate up and lock in. As for the stripe, I took a stab at it but it is too high to continue up to the cockpit. Additionally the two sides are built differently which complicates things somewhat. The far side has handholds built into it for climbing on to the top. It is funny that you mention the Cheyenne from Aliens as it along with the Battlestar Galactica Raptor shuttle were the inspiration for this build.
  5. I had toyed with a large forward wing, but I couldn’t come up with anything I liked. If you look at the ship from the side there really isn’t much bulk in the tail section. Originally the aft control surfaces were angled at 45 degrees but I had to bump them up to 22.5 due to an interference. That is one of the things I may change when I actually build it.
  6. This looks great. I can't wait to see it when you've added a couple of wings.
  7. This is my LDD prototype for a medium dropship/gunship for the ADU forces. It can hold up to 12 regular infantry or 8 assault troops. This is the first thing I have worked on in LDD so it is a pretty basic design. It still needs some tweaking but that will be worked out during the actual build. I plan to start building this as soon as I can acquire the necessary parts. Comments and especially critiques are welcome.
  8. Fantastic! Every city of the future should be bustling with these.
  9. Very cool little ship. I like the way the spine raises up to clear the canopy.
  10. Feel free to use whatever you like. I can take additional pictures if there is any particular part you would like to see. There were two blue and two dark grey 6X10 plates left over. I doubled up the main beam that the wheels are mounted to on the truck so that would leave you short on a trailer. Otherwise there are enough parts left over if you wanted to do something simple. I don’t see any issue with mounting the male/female hitch pieces. Unfortunately I just mixed the leftovers in with some other parts otherwise I’d snap a picture of what was left.
  11. I like the more subdued Sand Red. They’re a fighting force not a fashion show . It is a bit of a dilemma though when you look at things from a red vs. blue perspective. Red is generally the bad guys.
  12. Thanks for the comments. Other than a couple of detail parts I took from an ADU Defender, the APC is built entirely from the bags of parts allocated for the EDHQ build. It is a shame the Alien Conquest line is going away since it is largely responsible to dragging me back into Lego. It has been over 20 years since I sat down with a bunch of parts wondering what I could make from them.
  13. Just fantastic. This is one of the best Lego creations I have ever seen.
  14. APC: Built on the same line as the Earth Defense HQ, the armored personnel carrier shares many features with its larger sibling thereby, reducing cost and easing the logistics chain by use of common spares. It is equipped with a modular turret which can be switched out depending on mission requirements. This variant boasts twin independent rail guns, a surface to air missile suite and a targeting/tracking radar. The cockpit has been modified to include a medic station and a diagnostic scanner for treating wounded troops. The crew compartment is equipped with a holographic display, communications gear and is capable of accommodating up to six assault troops. Jetcopter Mk II: An evolution of the original design, the Mk II has traditional swept wings for faster flight. The engines have been relocated to increase survivability and to reduce damage from ingestion of debris during takeoff and landing. All alien containment equipment has been removed reducing overall weight and increasing patrol time. The Mk II is pure predator. Mobile Automated Gun System (MAGS) The MAGS or “Maggie” as she is known by the troops is an autonomous ground vehicle capable of operating independently or in conjunction with ground forces. Equipped with a high powered laser cannon and sensor suite the MAGS can quickly bring the fight to the enemy or act as a scout.
  15. Nicely done. I was planning to use the troops for a statue in front of my town hall.
