  1. The choice was blank torsos or stickers. That's just how it is.
  2. That sounds awesome. :-D *skull*
  3. As far as I know, the sets will be $99US / 99 Euro. The Justice set is 895 pieces. The Skulls set has 956. The piece count difference is most likely related to the number of wheels and canopy elements in the Justice sets. Wheels and canopies cost more.
  4. It's ok, I know not everyone likes the skull motif. I don't know anything about future sets. I hope we all get better parts selection to choose from in LDD in the future.
  5. I assure you, they're playable and swooshable. :)
  6. We were working from a limited palette in LDD to build these sets, so the only trans red elements I had to choose from were the 1x2 plates. Skulls weren't quite so cliche when we first began talking to LEGO about these sets more than 18 months ago. You were still buying rainbow Knights then. *skull*
  7. We had to design the sets with what was available in Lego Digital Designer. We would have liked to use air tanks too.
  8. You soil your justice pants every time you see the skulls. *skull*
  9. There is now an article on Gizmodo with a few more photos. Enjoy. *skull* http://gizmodo.com/364549/
  10. You would have to ask someone from LEGO corporate. I don't know anything about that, sorry. :-/
  11. I can tell you that there will be more fan-made sets in the future, so eventually a theme you like will show up. :-)
  12. The stickers are on transparent backing. I think there are just enough for what's included in the set, however: If you build something in LDD and place one of our stickers on it in LDD, you will be able to buy your LDD MOC and you will receive an entire sticker sheet. So you can get more stickers relatively inexpensively. :)
  13. From what I understand, the single most expensive piece type is a printed minifig torso. Just something to consider. ;-)
  14. We've been given permission to say a few more things now. All of the computers and torsos will be stickers. I know that will disappoint a lot of you, but our sets won't be produced in high enough numbers for LEGO to do a large run of printed torsos and computers. The fun part of the stickers is that I designed them! :-) Since we knew we would have to use stickers, I was able to design the stickers using Adobe Illustrator and send them to LEGO. One of their designers checked the designs and made some minor adjustments to ensure they would print well, but the stickers are virtually unchanged from my original designs. I tried to keep the "classic space" feel in the sticker designs, using simple buttons and viewscreens with grids. I think you'll enjoy the designs, even though you may be a bit disappointed with them being stickers.
  15. So you're just complaining because you don't like the Space theme. Ok. :-|
  16. If you buy the set and build with the parts, you are playing with it properly. :-)
  17. Yes, but it's actually more stable than the original because it has more legs. :-)
  18. Actually it stands upright very well. It's actually stable enough that LEGO didn't require it to have a brick stand to hold it up. *skull*
  19. We're right there with you. ;-)
  20. Lego Factory operates at a different pace than the system lines like ExoForce. Also, Chris and I were only the second AFOL effort to create an LDD set, so the process should become more streamlined in the future.
  21. Bear in mind that the genesis of the entire process of making these sets was about 3 years ago, before everyone got tired of our color schemes. :-/ Thanks very much. |-/
  22. LDD can be difficult to use sometimes, especially when you're trying to build SNOT. It doesn't like to put groups of pieces together when they're sideways. Occasionally you have to "trick" it into doing what you like, like attaching pieces to a plate, rotating the whole group sideways, then deleting the plate. *wacko*
  23. We're dreaming of it too, so hopefully if our sets sell well enough, it might become possible in the future.
  24. I would have liked to sculpt the large skull more, but bear in mind that I was limited by the LDD parts palette, and there weren't a lot of wedges or curved pieces to work with. LEGO added the 1x1 slopes to the assortment after we were finished with our design process, so the 1x1 slopes you see in our sets were added later on by a LEGO designer. :'-( We would have liked to do that as well, but LEGO felt it was more marketable to offer a range of vehicles in a set than one single "UCS" model from either of us.
  25. Yes, the two factions already existed for several years. PCS: http://pre.classic-space.com/?p=PCS Chris created PCS several years ago as a "subtheme" for space. Originally he was making very detailed, re-styled versions of some of the Classic Space sets. As he progressed, he began creating some of his own designs. 3vil: (sorry I don't have these organized as neatly as Chris) http://fleebnork.com/?m=3vil http://fleebnork.com/?m=3vilbike http://fleebnork.com/?m=dropskull http://fleebnork.com/?m=hoverskull http://fleebnork.com/?m=skullpod http://fleebnork.com/?m=skullmodule http://fleebnork.com/?m=azazel http://fleebnork.com/?m=asmodeus I created 3vil as a more comical, over-the-top rival to Chris's PCS. So every 3vil vehicle needs to have an oversize skull on it, so it looks extra cool. ;) The process where LEGO asked us to create sets will be discussed in an upcoming Brickjournal article. :)
