:D haha Thanks I really like that helmet tho....just wish I could get 2013 sets here where I stay. We are always so far behind. I am very keen to get that A-wing
-
Wow that's cool. Where is that helmet from by the way? Oh and the 501st, is that reference to Vaders finest ? ;)
-
Cool thanks for the info. Quite interesting. It may just help me in future if I try something big as well.

My mind boggles. To even begin to think how any of these pieces could get used that way....I think its brilliant!!! Very creative and different to what I have seen before. PS Have you ever built a Dragon like this before?
-
Was also wondering about the numbering and significance? I love this MOC though. How stable is the whole build though? Could you also perhaps share any background story/trivia to the various sections /details please ;) Great job though.

My honest criticism, I would say.....its a bit blocky and the large number of square edges are too plain ( for me). Try substituting those bigger block pieces with smaller pieces that have different shapes/edges and details etc. Also try experiment a bit with some SNOT techniques. ;) i also suck at Photography, but one thing I do know, strong light is better than a flash, and if you have to use a flash, dont stand square on to your background picture, it gets that reflection coming back. I do like the red white and blue though, so try refine the details, but keep those colours. I think lots of practice just makes us all better. ;)

No comments / criticism? Is it really that bad/boring? :P

Thunderbirds are go!.....ah childhood memories, and agreed, this vehicle definitely captures that look. ( Not so sure about the minifigs though?) I would say the minifigs make this look more like some post apocalyptic are type vehicle. ( just my thoughts though ;) )

WOW this thing is huuuge! How long did this take ? I would not even begin to understand how you start something like this, form planning to construction. I am still building very small scale. Would love to see the pics with the background you are talking about. It should look very good like that.

Well armoured, tough and rugged.....Gives that impression these guys don't mess around. Looks great

/picks up jaw..... That destruction effect is simply awesome. And those buildings and that ship. Ive just done my first micro scale MOC and I am now really inspired to go back and build some more.
-
I have to say, the angles and lines are absolutely amazing, and yeah the colours are really "cool" for a sci-fi theme :)

Hey guys I have not uploaded much around here and have not really made many MOC's. I tried my hand at a micro scale space port with a few ships...and then I see there was a competition, lol . Well its not competition worthy I dont think. But i would like to know what you all think of this - my first micro scale vignette or scene type of MOC. I've built a few vehicles here and there before but never tried a setting/scene/scenario Here's a link to my flickr stream http://www.flickr.com/photos/79287307@N04/8461497251/in/set-72157632738116070/ Here's a shot or two

Why the speeder has flick fire missiles though? In the game the speeders are personal transports, not military capable machines. That's just weird But otherwise it looks like a great set, and one which I will surely get. Thanks for the review :)
-
Aha, thanks. I understand that part now. Some of us do have limited parts, so this is therefore a great way to be able to still compete, considering all entries have to be brickbuilt. Thank you for the clarity ;)
-
Just a question here, but if only one entry is allowed, and people can enter small items in the large category.....why would they enter the small category of competition? Should the large category not be restricted to 16x16 and larger? OR Maybe small should be defined as small vignettes 16x16 and minis , anything else would be large and then allow a person one entry to EACH category?

My jaw drops every time I see inside a creation. this is certainly what happened here again. I love that frame . It all comes together very nicely

That is a really awesome Viper. Very neat and I love the snot techniques and angles used.

Regarding Battlestar Galactica - some trivia Early names for the title of the series were: Star World, Battle Star Galactica, Galactica: Star Worlds, The Saga of the Battlestar Galactica, and Earth Star. George Lucas, the creator of Star Wars, has often been mistakenly referred to as the creator of Battlestar Galactica. George Lucas eventually became concerned that Galactica would be too much like Star Wars, and he had Galactica producer Glen Larson agree to avoid doing certain things. One such example was that the laser fire would not be the think beams that were seen in Star Wars. However, this still did not prevent Lucas and Fox from eventually starting a lawsuit against Universal claiming that Battlestar Galactica was an infringement on Star Wars. The lawsuit stated there were 83 points of similarity between the two such as the bond between Luke Skywalker and Han Solo. Eg Both stories take place in outer space; both feature the eternal struggle of a handful of believers against an oppressive empire. Both productions shared the same concept artist in Ralph McQuarry, but he came up with completely different designs for both. To regard one as a duplicate of the other is to indict all Westerns for being carbon copies, all kung fu movies as cheap imitators. So there was also a common concept artist! ;)

Ok I did a quick Mod - trying to use mainly the same parts there, had to use a few extras here and there. Hopefully this is more in the Vic Viper style .
-
Thanks guys.... I'm now thinking of maybe doing some modding of this....or should a say a variant ;) Vic Viper Style

Ok I took some quick shots , but don't have a proper camera or lighting setup. Just a cellphone camera for now and the flourescent kitchen light - Lol Flicker Gallery http://www.flickr.com/photos/79287307@N04/sets/72157632060907838/with/8202462585/ Ok not sure why that whole gallery is playing there,. I just linked it ? There is a small difference in the long black aerial parts I used as guns on the model and the render. I could not find this same part in LDD, so used a slightly different part. Its almost the same but the real part I used has better gun barrel tips.

Hey all Just thought I would put this out there mainly for some technical advice and feedback, and to see if there is any potential in my building ability ;) Oh and to see if its worthy to show off Hahahaha :D I Have been collecting Lego most this year, but not had much time to sit down and build due to work pressure etc, but I finally decided to get a re arrange things at home, and sort out my life and actually get some fun things done, like building a Lego creation or two. I have not been on the forum in months so p[lease remind me if I am doing anything against procedure or incorrectly. Well a bit about this MOC. Firstly I did not know about Vic Viper Novvember until I was about to post this. I don't think this is quite suitable to be considered, but that was not the purpose of the MOC. I was inspired mainly by the Robotech/Macross Veritech fighters with this, hence the colour scheme used. I also tried to make it look chunky /bulky in some places as I am considering trying to build a mech with mostly these same parts to see if I can pull off the illusion that it is a Veritech fighter. Well here are the images on my flicker page. One render and 3 LDD screenshots. I actually built this in bricks first then went and made it in LDD to get the render. My photography skills don't yet exist, so I thought its easier to render than take a decent picture. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Very sleek, and great colours. Makes it look menacing. I love the side engine/pod details

While I think a lot of work has gone into a professional presentation and a nice idea, I don't like the large Bionicle type action figures Lego releases. I also see all those Star Wars figures have pretty much the same legs, torso and arms, with very minor differences, except colour. They all look very similar with different helmets.
