  1. Well yesterday I made a second hand purchase for about one third of the original price on these items. Still in perfect condition 6212 X-wing 10174 Ultimate Collectors AT-ST
  2. I largely disagree I have always hovered on the edge of getting back into Lego, but the EVE Rifter linked on my facebook feed led me to Cuusoo. So I saw it and loved it and voted for it, also voted for western town, space marines and the UCS Sandcrawler. I got back in to Lego because of that, have 154 minigigures now and over 12000 pieces in 2 months! Still quick to write of fandoms and the good they can do? ;) Just because I am a massive EVE fan does not mean I cannot like other themes/creations or enjoy Lego as well.
  3. I see flick fire missiles all 3 of those new sets so far. Even on Jabbas palace now. I am really keen on those 2 Jabba sets though:)
  4. I think you have captured the design/feel of the Portal test chambers perfectly. I love this. Instantly recognisable.
  5. Ah Ok, no worries Could you maybe post a screenshot of your minifigure area? Would like to see how you are planning the layout there. ;)
  6. Guys it is Lego, used in wargame modelling, in case you don't want to read the whole thing.
  7. I was browsing the web just now and came across this page by chance. Have a look at the modeling the guy has done, and look very carefully......scroll down. EDIT: Ignore the video at top of blog, start reading from "Sci-Fi Corridor: Pipes, Tanks etc." click me Is that not awesome? :)
  8. The movie Chronicle that I watched last night had the characters testing their telekinetic powers to build a Space Needle tower out of Lego. Was quite a nice discovery :) Chronicle
  9. This looks very nice, but could I give my opinion? I think making EVE ships is an awesome idea and I want to try this as well, but everyone seems to be starting with the smallest ships in EVE and making them quite large to accommodate minifigures. I would suggest scaling down the ships with a lot less parts. This way we can build the bigger cruisers, battlecruisers and industrial ships all approximately to scale later with the frigates that are appearing now If I get around to making some EVE ships, I would probably not go for an interior at first at all. It would be easier to scale down this way. I like what you have achieved with the shape and the detail so far, and how you have constructed the "wingy bits". Lets see who gets that EVE joke, lol Just some thoughts, and I hope I have been helpful. ;) EDIT: Adjusted some statements after looking at the MOC link ;)
  10. Should your 3 reasons for not liking the other licensed creations not also be applied fairly to the Delorean to exclude it? I see you chose not to do that, so what you are left with is that this is your personal preference that you like the Delorean and not the other licenses. This is 100% fine as we are all entitled to our preferences. ;) If I was writing that exact same post that you wrote, I could switch out Delorean for EVE Rifter and it would make perfect sense to me. I love EVE and its ships and I don't see anything wrong with a Ship beating a modular Western town. Its just a matter of many different fans like different themes. Also on the matter of Licensing for EVE, I don't think this will be a problem. EVE developers CCP have been pushing for the LEGO Rifter to get made as well. They are keen, and I think many EVE fans will buy it. I will also buy it, after it has been refined and released as I think the current model is a bit too big can do with some improvements ( the Rifter is one of the smallest ships in EVE) Ps I would also buy the Serenity/Firefly ship without a second glance. ;)
  11. Just wondering the same thing, went through recent posts, but its obviously for a post that may have been deleted already.

  12. May the 4th be with you all. Still not yet decided what to buy today.... What have you all decided to do/buy/see for May 4th?
  13. I'm 38 now and what really makes me want to cry, is when I saw all those space sets. I had every one of the space sets there that you just found, and when I got into my teens my mom gave it all away :( I remember each one as I was going through your pictures. Anyway, Congratulations on finding such a treasure, that is certainly enough to bring some big smiles:)
  14. 10231 Shuttle Expedition. Found it today in store for a really decent price. Some nice parts in this pack as well. :)
  15. I also don't like it and also referred to it as like looking at an old pixelated low resolution video game in the R2 thread. I was actually just posting there about how blocky I think it looks. Many may like it, but I don't really.
  16. I made an single observation that this is looking blocky. While that is my opinion, I think it can also be taken as fact in this case as it is plain to see. I can add more blocks, But when paying $180 and it being UCS I would expect more evened off edges, a more finished look.
  17. Such an excellent idea for bringing Minis and minifigures together. :)
  18. Sorry about that. EDIT: I did not realise which thread I was in when posting earlier as I was replying to a comment on SWTOR ships. Had too many threads open at the time
  19. I would love to see more SWTOR stuff. Cant wait for an XS Light Freighter or a BT-7 Thunderclap.

    SHIP WIP

Aha, interesting. I get so used to ship designs with towers at the rear such as Star Destroyers from Star Wars. Its good to see something different. :) What you describe above sounds very cool. Looking forward to seeing the end result.
  21. I really like that ;) Nice find there. That is exactly along the lines I was thinking

    SHIP WIP

I like the idea of an upside down studs for the bottom frame. :) That shot of the rear tower up close is looking really neat, some nice details there, and not overdone on greebling. Cant wait to see this completed, keep us posted ;)
  23. I think you miss my point I was trying to make. I was not asking for custom pieces. I don't like those too much either and I agree on your point about this pushing up affordability. But in this collection of "blocky" bricks are hundreds of different wedge and curve shapes that can be used. The dome is never going to be easy to achieve, I know that, but surely the vertical sides of R2 could have used a curved wall technique? Maybe a few cheese wedges in the dome? It just looks a little unfinished, like playing an old pixelated low resolution game. For a UCS set I like what they crammed into this model, but I don't like the finish.
  24. Now that's something I have not seen done before, a whole chromed ship :) Very nicely done, it really stands out. Could you let us know how easily the bricks stick and separate after chroming? Do they still have the nice cohesion and are the easy enough to separate?
  25. I'm not a fan of the whole blocky look to be honest. I am sure that could have been done better That really puts me off this set. I would however LOVE to have R2D2 in my lounge, but Ill pass on this version.
