  1. I find comparing the two lines rather pointless for they both have their ups and downs and both appeal to different people, but since you asked I will provide my answer. I'd say that as of the time being, Bionicle wins over Hero Factory in most aspects. Bionicle had a complex and thrilling story where everything was connected as part of one major event, with a rich cast of characters and locales. The stories could sometimes be very dark, which is something that its replacement cannot do. Hero Factory is a more lighthearted series, where most of the stories within are not connected and are seemingly random. Characters are not expanded on as much and the plot is kept very simple. In a sense this is a good thing, as some of us (not me) were fed up with how the Bionicle story went on and on without taking breaks from the main story. Bionicle was one massive story, where Hero Factory is a collection of different adventures of the heroes that do not all relate to each other. The building systems for the two series are very different as well. Bionicle, being the senior, used more complex designs with more pieces and smaller parts. Originally gears were implanted in the figures to give them movement features. True, initially the sets had limited articulation (but they looked very nice) but as the series progressed the builds became stronger and more articulated, more like normal action figures. Most armor pieces and tools were attached via pins and axles, making there endless possibilities for building, but at the same time limited ideas. Hero Factory utilizes a much more simple system relying on ball joint pieces. The system is much simpler and makes building easier. There are more ways to build with this system, as you can connect just about anything anywhere. Both allow much creative freedom, but the new Hero Factory system takes the cake with its more simple, stable, and adaptable form. I don't like comparing the two, as stated in the very beginning, but if I were to choose I would instinctively say Bionicle. Bionicle appealed to me because I liked the idea of one huge story where multiple worlds are connected into one major occurrence, but also because Bionicle was an important part of my childhood and growing up. Bionicle always had a moral to the story, and that did teach me about character (to some degree anyways). As much as I like the newer Hero Factory sets, I don't think that the line is good enough to beat its predecessor.
  2. Wow, that is really (insert adjective describing amazement)! As you can see, I'm kind of at a loss for words. It's a really nice exo-suit. Whenever I try to make armor suits like this they always end up looking like an inconsistent and flimsy pile of parts. Great job here at making it sturdy and consistent. Oh, and I think the hands look fine.
  3. How ingenious and cunning of you.
  4. That is simply amazing. It looks a lot more armored (and armed!) than the Batwing, and the design is really neat. I like how its in the shape of the Bat-symbol. The criminals of Gotham are going to piss their pants when this baby shows up! But was there really a need to put two Batmen in there?
  5. I was having trouble deciding whether to go with this deal or not, because there are some Batman Legacy action figures that came out in the US, and I was trying to decide how to spend my reserve savings hidden my high-security vault. I was going to go with the Hulk promo fig. offer, but then at 5:43 AM this morning I realized, "Oh, its June 1st." There goes that plan. I'll probably just BL it for my birthday later on.
  6. Haha, Glowstick of destiny; I remember that part. Nice job.
  7. Wow! Nice work on Iron Cross. I really like Bucky there. He looks good with the new Robin head.
  8. I like the one with Hulk Junior. "This is how you smash puny gods." I can't not laugh at these.
  9. I suppose, but I just don't think the voice entirely matches up with Surge's personality. His bio said that he has trouble keeping his emotions in check, and that he thinks that he was built with a flaw, but the voice doesn't seem to capture that aspect of his personality. But then again, so far the series hasn't brought that up even once.
  10. Agreed. When I first heard Surge talking, I went to the bathroom and washed out my ears. Seriously, I thought I misheard him talking. Unfortunately I was wrong. I would like if Andrew Garfield did the (voice) acting for one of the male rookies. I doubt that will happen, but it would be nice. Of course, that's just what I think. Ben Kingsley would make an interesting Mr. Makuro. Or maybe it could be Stan Lee! No, I'm just kidding. I'll bet that there'll be a LOT of CGI and Mocap, but most of you probably guessed that too. Now it's not as common for the actors to wear fake looking costumes when they're playing a robot, or an ape-person (Planet Of The Apes).
  11. Good MOC. I like how the hood lifts up to reveal two seats. How come you can put two seats in a vehicle that small, but Lego can't? The one things I wish you'd included was a windscreen, so that you don't see directly though the window.
  12. Holy sh...nitzel. That is quite a creative skeleton you've assembled. It looks much better than the Ultrabuild Hulk design. And he's green. Green is amazing. I personally would've made the legs longer.
  13. Very cool. I like how the 'villain core' looks almost like a part of the gun. Simple, but effective.
  14. Simple, but good. I prefer this one over the one she had in the Harley Quinn's Hammer Truck set a few years back.
  15. Nice. I like the use of trans-blue Takadox armor (especially on the torso, nice job) and blue tubing. The black contrasts with it well. It must look good in the dark. :) I also like how the head looks quite big; it looks nice with the rather bony design of the body.
  16. Cute. I like how you assembled the head; clever use of the Waspix head.
  17. Hmm...lessee... Lego inFamous: Just think, Lego Cole MacGrath, and sets with two separate builds for good Cole and evil Cole...that sounds like a good idea to me. Young Justice: Even though they have a DC Superheroes theme, I wish that they'd make a Young Justice subtheme for it. The show is really great, and I can see a lot of sets that they could make: -The Bioship vs Injustice League (Ep. 14): the name really says it all. -The New Genesis Super-Cycle (Ep. 17): a set with the super-cycle/sphere and a few Apokoliptian villains. -Attack on Mount Justice (Ep. 12): a set based off of 'Homefront', with the Reds, Artemis, Robin, and the power generator made into an EMP. -The Watchtower (Ep. 26): A large set based off of the battle in Auld Acquaintance. That would be nice. These are just some ideas of mine.
  18. Oh, poo. I dislike Megablocks; Lego sets are much higher quality. I might end up buying those, despite the previous sentence(s).
  19. I never heard about those Lego Avengers posters; do they have them in the UK and Ireland? Does anyone know if we'll be getting sets for The Amazing Spider-Man? It looks awesome if you ask me.
  20. Ditto, that would be better than ordering via BrickLink.
  21. Apologies, to you and cylex7. It happens to be a long running habit of mine which I've been attempting to curb. I'm going to hit the 'edit' button, if it helps.
  22. Does anyone remember the winning entries from the last Hero Factory contest?
  23. Good review. I hope I can find this polybag set on Bricklink; I think it is quite good for such a tiny set. And on your comment about Hawkeye's hair, I agree completely. His hair was brown, and not so slicked back.
  24. Most users were not buying the sets they made, probably because Hero Recon Team allowed little creativity. You could not build your own skeleton, or choose where to place all your armor plates, and there was a limit to the weight (or was it amount of parts?). I purchased one custom hero from HRT, and I was quite disappointed with it. The best part was probably the box. Does anyone else here think that those boxes were great?
