As a flip-side, I actually prefer the System-ized big ships (like this one and the ISD). I'm not much for the UCS sets: I find the System-scale versions of these larger ships are nice because you get a more affordable ship in an easily-managed size, often with some neat play features and good figs. m19

Just as a bit of an end-note to the great experiences I had participating in the contest: Woohoo! *wub* m19

Can someone clarify this...? I signed up for Brickmaster last month (October) and got the three Racer sets. Am I going to get a November one this month, like everyone else, or is there a separate December one? (Because they come every other month, right?) Just trying to figure out how it works since I signed up in an "off" month. m19

FYI-- The first round of voting's now underway, if anyone feels like joining in the electional fun. :) m19

I think it was asked, but as far as I can tell no clear answer has been given yet: can entries be either a starfighter or a racer? Or does it have to be both, something like a hotrodding spaceracer? m19

Heh... I did actually, in a thread this morning

I worked with what I had. ;) I'm not sure what this bib piece is

It's the Naboo pilot torso from the new N1 set: . m19

Hey thanks for the nods, guys

Hah! Well whaddya know. I guess this one can be locked, then, if need be. I'll go join the party fashionably late... ;) m19

(I think this would be the right section for this, but by all means please feel free to wiggle it to somewhere more appropriate if need be!) I've been busy creating entries for Kam's Historical Figure contest he's running over at fineclonier.com. I noticed the contest about two weeks ago and have since been frantically (and quite happily) cobbling together historical figs using only official pieces. Ended up with 92 figs total. I'm thrilled to have been able to participate in the contest, but I think I'll be taking a break from building for a bit

And suddenly, somewhere, a marketing team is crying out for joy. ;) m19

We already know the first sets/subscriptions will ship out in November-- the first post said as much. I was thinking more along the lines of specific information (sets, more of what's included, etc.) given that we're at the July 16th date now. The S@H has the item up for order now, at least. m19

Given that the July date given in the first post's quote is rapidly approaching, do we have any more information on this "new" Brickmaster? The Brickmaster blurb in the latest catalog appears to be the same it's always been, and the Brickmaster website isn't much different: it even still lists the Vault CDs as part of the package. If there is indeed a newly adjusted roll-out of the subscription, where can more information be gleaned? m19

PM coming your way. m19 -
Thanks for the comments! No, unfortunately: it's a sticker on the red slope pieces. m19

Up next, another UMC creation. This MOC started out as a simple pencil sketch with the general "chunky underside" shape. Given that the massive caverns being mined under Mars wouldn't be conducive to wheeled or tracked vehicles, the UMC tasked Olympica Engineering Systems (OES) to research and develop a functional antigravity drive and a personal transport vehicle for its miners. Being the first generation of the AG drive, I figured it would be very large in comparison to the vehicle it was attached to: thus, the big protruding shape under the transport. Ultimately, I had four main goals when building this time: 1) Create a MOC with clearly & strictly defined areas of color (red, light bley, black) 2) Create an airspeeder-like vehicle with an open cockpit 3) Create something with a "smooth top/mechanical underside" shape 4) Be swooshable ;) (As a sidenote, I realized after I'd finished that this is also my first nearly-studless MOC: I think there are something like eight visible studs total.) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OES "Type-G1 Bukai" Mining Transport - Main Brickshelf gallery - Schematics - Deeplinks: 3/4 Front | Side | 3/4 Rear | Underside | Antigrav close-up | Cockpit | Crew | Assembly ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As always, I'd love to hear any comments, questions, suggestions, and critiques. Thanks, m19

Beautiful! I would buy every single one of those, if they were for sale. C'mon LEGO, tap the market! :) m19

Ta-da! Didn't know how fast you want them to blink... From what I recall of the Megaman games it was kind of an "on for a while, blink off, back on for a while" speed-- like the first one. Anywho, here are three versions of varying speeds, feel free to use all or none. I'd just ask that you save them to your own computer or Maj account instead of linking directly to mine, as I'll most likely take them down in the a week or so. Hope that helps! m19

I made two small updates to the Kodiak gallery this evening: The growing army 1 The growing army 2 I've always wanted to do some sort of "here are the troops" photo but never really had a consistent and coherent enough force to make it happen. Now that I'm producing more of those black antenna visors and have a sufficient number of that torso part, I thought I'd finally get around to doing one. I know the "mysterious squad of faceless black soldiers" motif has been done before, but I'm really proud of my little army and am very excited with the prospect of building more stuff for them to play with. There are a little over twenty soldiers in those photos; I have enough parts to make a little over forty soldiers total, whenever I have time to make more visors. m19

Considering two of the figs you can build are the new $50-set Castle princess and evil wizard, I'd say it's a pretty good deal, actually, especially if you don't want to spend $50 to get those two or don't have the Castle sets out in your area yet. And knowing BL, that princess would've been pricey if these build-a-fig stations hadn't been found. I don't think it's the best source of army-building, no, but if you need a couple rare figs it's a great deal. Over in my American neck of the woods, we've never had these in my local area that I know of. So while it may be old news to some European folks (and other areas of the US), it's a nice breath of fresh air for me. ;) m19

Golden Tower and Aero Booster available at Lego Shop Bluewater

New female fig? Awesome! From earlier box shots I figured it was just another one of the black-haired EF male fig. The new female torso looks like it could be really good for a female-dominant purple-themed Castle faction... Would it be possible to get some up-close shots of her, por favor? m19 -
Thank you! And no, I don't mind at all: link away. :) m19
