This is not exactly true, as my friend's 9 year old sister showed us. Take Stephanie's head off, and a minifig can grab her neck. It was quite a gruesome little scene she made (the red flowers from the treehouse put in the crow's nest along with the head ...)

I would have tried to make it so that the rubble could be rebuilt into the actual wall (remove the log bricks and the bracing, and be able to rebuild the wall). Shouldn't require much, I'd think.

I remember building mine out of Lego, but not that well. I also remember the teacher getting really mad at someone who knocked over a palm tree; I don't think she realized it could be put back easily.

The Tower Bridge is awesome, expensive, and not that popular. That means that there are people who want it and can't afford it now, or will want it later. The VW is cheap enough that many who want it have it. It's also newer, meaning it would take longer to go out of print. And the Tower Bridge, worst case, is a lot of pieces.

http://www.bricklink.com/catalogPG.asp?S=6274-1 shows that it sells used for about $112, and hasn't sold new in the last 6 months.
