Review: 30163 Thor and the Cosmic Cube
TheLegoJoker replied to Sir_Basil_Ashton's topic in LEGO Licensed
I already have two Thors from the Avengers sets, but I'm a sucker for the polybags so I'm sure I'll buy another one (or two) when I see this. -
LEGO Superheroes 2012 Rumours & Discussion

Love it! I've already made an inmate Joker using the orange prisoner top, but I would welcome this one anyway. Though I'm sure it's not obvious, the Joker is my favorite comic villain. Also relieved to see that "Venom" is merely a black suited Spidey. My hopes for a proper, more iconic Venom are restored. Of the 4 Super Heroes shown, I'm going to have to break down and buy Shazam and Bizarro. OK with passing on the other two unless I find them at a decent price. -

I'd be all for the larger Venom if it didn't mean sacrificing leg articulation. Because of that, I prefer standard minifigure Venom. Of course, I'll be happy to get him however he's produced. -

Man,that Bizarro looks great! Gotta have him, but I'm sure I'm going to have to pay handsomely for him. -

Like most of you, I hate to miss out on any of the exclusive figures. Hopefully they will make their way into a regular set next year. I can't go to SDCC and I hate the thought of spending $100+ on a single minifigure, but if it's one I want badly enough and they don't do a regular release, it's likely going to happen. Let's all keep our fingers crossed. -
I took some brasso to Black Widow's cheeks and she looks way better in my opinion. *EDIT* Here's the pic. After taking it, I had to reapply the Brasso, as I missed part of one of the cheek lines. Black Widow's Face Lift by TheLegoJoker, on Flickr

Very nice police blimp! Wouldn't mind seeing one of those in the Superhero theme. Oh, and the face on that expedition blimp would make for a great Joker blimp. I need to find one of those.

I'd be happy with a standard minifigure sized Venom. In fact, I'd probably prefer him that way. The oversized characters look good, but they are so limited on possible poses they almost aren't worth it. The huge Hulk looks great, but I'm glad LEGO offered a standard minifigure sized Hulk, as well. As for DC, I really really want a Killer Moth. Don't know anything about the actual character, but he looks so ridiculously cool that my fingers are crossed in the hopes that he gets made. Also would like to see a new Joker with a two sided angry/ scared face to go with the big grin and smirk head we have. Even a face printing like the one shown on the save icon on LEGO Batman 2 would be great. I would appreciate the added personality. Though these are major wants, I'm going to be happy to get as many different characters as LEGO is willing to produce. I look at the Minimates figures and see that they have done a ton of Marvel and DC characters over the past 10 years. If LEGO can hit anywhere near the mark that they've reached, I'll be one happy LEGO fan.

I'm OK with Spidey. Would have liked red shoulders, but I like the larger eyes as opposed to the earlier versions. At least, they look larger to me. I'll be buying this one. -
The original versions of Boba Fett and Darth Vader were the reasons I started collecting LEGO in general. As the years passed, the molds and printing have become more detailed, so I would say that the newer version of Boba Fett is currently my favorite Star Wars minifigure. Honorable mention to the Imperial Inspection (printed legs) Stormtroopers. ****Wow. Not sure how that happened. Maybe the Matrix IS real.

Very nice! I love it.

Nice job. I like how you created the flaming skull look. I would have never thought of that.

Although I've heard complaints about it being a cheap DS port, I was going to purchase the Vita version (already bought the 360 version) to get a second Lex, but the GS employee here refused to let me have one. Bought Gravity Rush instead. I don't NEED a second Lex, but I'd like to have one. I'll probably just get one off of ebay.

Nice Penguin, Penguin!

Since my Joker is my Avatar,I just figured I'd add a "friend" to it. jokerfriendsavatar by TheLegoJoker, on Flickr

Got mine today. My Gamestop store told me they were two figures short of covering all of their preorders, so I'm glad I didn't wait till this weekend to pick it up. It's a great figure, and the printed torso will be a more believable outfit for Lex when he's terrorizing Wonder Woman in his giant robot.

I'm happy with all the licensed lines we have. The licensed sets are just about all I buy anymore. I'll buy non-licensed sets if it's a particularly nice building or car, or is something non-yellow like the monsters from the Monster Fighters line. As for the yellow people who inevitably come with the non-licensed sets, I either go to bricklink to find comparable fleshie heads/ hands, or I sell/ trade the yellow figure. I've got a bunch of yellow heads and hands in my LEGO bin at the moment, waiting for a new home. I know it sounds crazy to be a LEGO fan and hate the yellow figures, but the flesh tones are just so much better to me. I don't want my Superman to have a yellow face, and I certainly wouldn't want an eventual Nick Fury to have one. It's all about diversity for me. I look at all my fleshie minifigures and I'm fairly certain that if they were all yellow headed, I'd probably be done collecting LEGO by now. I know I'm probably in the minority (pun intended) but I'd be happier if LEGO did away with the yellow skin tones altogether.

Monster Fighters 2012
TheLegoJoker replied to Darth Nihilus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I really like the Monster sets, but I just can't bring myself to buy the lab. I really want the frankenstein monster, but that's about it for that set. Anybody else not feeling this one, or is it just me? -

Nicely done. As already noted, the color scheme is great.

Though I tend to stick to the licensed themes, I've really enjoyed the monster line so far and this is the icing on the cake. Definitely the set of the year.

REVIEW: 9464 The Vampyre Hearse
TheLegoJoker replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Nice review. This was certainly my most anticipated monster set after the castle. Anyone else have an EXTREMELY tight fitting vampire head? Seriously, it felt like I was going to break it placing the head onto the neck post. I'm guessing it's from the GITD process but I don't want I end up splitting the head in half. -
Spiderman is "amazing" and so is this mosaic. Wow!

Oky, the Batman & Robin PAB is $14.99. Don't know about the poster, though.
