  1. What's up with that video? It makes me feel I ate magic mushrooms!
  2. Your type of wheels enable a lot of neat driving tricks:
  3. Whoa, a lego school?! That sounds awesome! How does that work? Does the school have an endless supply of Lego and all kids do there is play with it all day? And after, do you go to Lego high school and Legoversity where all the subjects are tought using Lego? I would love to know more about it
  4. Here's what happened to my Lego trike when I tried to show it of in a video...
  5. I'm sorry I have to be the one to break it to you: this model sucks! I hereby nominate you for the booby prize
  6. That is indeed very steampunky. Love all the gears on it!
  7. The video shows it however in not-so-still water. Have you damaged any parts yet? Awesome model anyway!
  8. Did you abrade the front tires so they are smaller?
  9. That looks stunningly good. You could easily mistake your first picture for the real thing! Could you please post some pictures of the internals? If the inside is as well-built as the outside I could learn a lot from that.
  10. Thank you for that, I will surely try that out when I rebuild it. The mechanism seems a little flaky so I wonder how much weight it can handle. And without weight there wouldn't be a reason to use Blakbird's instruction to put on tandem wheels, would there?
  11. Sorry I missed that. I was too blinded by the Scania's :embarrassed: Man that excavator is going to be HUGE!
  12. That looks really good! I love the curve of the wheel casing. I'm very curious to how the rest of the cabin will look. And what will you do with the space behind the cab? Will there be a crane?
  13. I like the looks of the 9395 (except for the see-through engine hood, wtf?) but other that that it really has no notable functions. The tow mechanism isn't interesting from a technical point-of-view; it's a worm gear that raises/lowers a beam (without even an innovative worm gear casing). It's also unplayable because the truck can't turn when towing another vehicle. The other function is rolling up a string... However, I love the black panels and liftarms that I now have I haven't built the b-model yet.
  14. Wow that thing is so fast! If you made a ramp it could make big jumps
  15. Well, unfortunately LDD isn't available for GNU/Linux platforms... I created the 3D model in my first post with MLCAD running under Wine. You can find the source file at http://r2src.com/lego/donkervoort.mpd I also used MLCAD to make building instructions, download them at http://r2src.com/lego/lego_technic_donkervoort.pdf But seriously, where is all the awesome open-source Lego modeling software?
  16. Thank you all for your very kind comments. You make me feel very welcome! Here is a video of the Donkervoort's performance on my desk:
  17. Hello all, I am new to this forum and recently got back into Lego Technic. As a kid I had only one Technic model: the 8880. I remember being frustrated for not understanding the gearbox and being unable to create such a marvelous design all by myself. I've finally grown up so now I can do whatever the hell I want! So for my first MOC I build a remote-controlled Donkervoort (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donkervoort) with a 4-speed gearbox. Features: Remote controlled driving and steering 4-speed synchronized manual transmission Return-to-center steering mechanism Clean, modular build Here are the pictures: I hope you like it :-)
