Yeah i dont get it... I cant tell what kind of bricks those are... I do recognize one or two..

I guess its only a matter of time before they produce a "gray hulk" variant also...

I've read about one guy who they saw his builds at a convention, took note of him and then a few years later saw some more stuff and gave him a job... I think that you don't have to be a sketch artist for lego to hire you...

I didn't understand what you were saying here? -

Rumors and speculation: Haunted House Modular
natesroom replied to forumreader's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
wow i think the house looks cool enough to fit into my collection of historic (mostly) collection.. I disagree with this. I think there is alot of sets they can cover. Youve got the haunted pumpkin patch. You've got any trick or treat scenarios. Youve got scary carnivals with weird creatures. Gosh take all the scary movies and pick and choose scary scenes. The house on the haunted hill. Cemetaries... they can realease differnt houses decked out in halloween decorations, jack olanterns, scarecrows... the list goes on for about 3 years I disagree with this. I wish i could give you rep or props this was a great answer to the question as compared to the other correct answers "It saves money" I disagree, i've worked in the pre-press industry and with Flexo machines and Dye Sub Machines and latex printers. Yes in a small 3-8 man shop i could technically go back to the computer open up illustrator or photoshop and enter the new PMS color and switch it out. and then reprint. In a larger company if you run a job and 300-3000 pieces into it you realize that something was off. You have to stop and issue a changeorder (or whatever they call it) document the Loss, fill out paperwork (or enter it) I'm not the graphics person since i just run the machine, send a note or an email to the production department have them fix whatever issue it is, redocument the changes, update the artwork on the workorder, print out a new ticket (or electronic ticket)... etc. Sometimes production atually has to send it to the graphics department (they are different) and they have to correct the file because the production person wasnt trained to edit and correct a gradient mesh or a clipping mask taht they couldnt figure it out (not that LEGO uses all those exact items) Then they.... blah blah. See how much more involved just explaining the process was then your "Computers are controlling the printing - they don't have "re-tool" for a different face... they may have to stop production, enter new designs into the computer, and start up again. If they've got things set up correctly it should only take a matter of minutes, production wise. Yes, of course, there's art time, too. I really doubt it takes more than a couple of hours, and I'm sure the artists are able to test their designs either on some local printing device, or a good enough simulation on screen."

This is a cool idea and i would definitely look at buying the pieces in a super lot (what kind of pricing though?) I don't even build modulars but yours was one i supported and it would be cool to build something that had so much thought and effort. I would do it also to learn some the building techniques i'm not familiar with also.. I do like the floor by floor lots as i have probably 2/3 - 3/4 of those pieces already off the top of my mind.

How can I build my own opaque door?
natesroom replied to Sabrien Reed's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Why dont you buy the Blue version of that door and paint it white? Those are going for 10c - 25c you would have to pay shipping costs.. though -
i found this on the internets.. http://pennlug.forum-motion.com/t836-the-mystery-lego-s-brick-solved It describes a similar situation with the letter s on the bricks. heres more info http://thebrickblogger.com/2011/05/lego-bayer-test-strikes/

My last grababg at the Downtown Disney store was 1 month ago.. they haven't had any since then. I didn't get any minifigs, but i did get some train parts about 200 wrenches, Windows, Doors (not the kind i would use in castle stuff though) and aboout 100 Orange cheese slopes/headlights plus about 20-30 Firefighter hats, 20-30 Caps and a few other things... oh about 50 different tires but no hubs... Not really worth it i think in my opinion.

How do people do the hills sideways? I know about SNOT pieces that let you turn things sideways... but i can never figure out how they make it look so good...

yeah i would rather the discussion be moved back on topic as opposed to theis offshoot while having some merita has added 2 whole pages of text which i've read and agree after all those points with your interpretation now. Moral Stance is a good discussionary topic which i think goes back to the ultimate question: By what standards are they defining their "Moral Stance"? If its american worldly standards by 2020 Lego will be building a Lego city set with a family house for Jack and John and their children.
