  1. Ooh, reddish brown tiles that's great! Stratford said they were sad that 'other' LEGO stores got many of the pieces they were asking for. It would be awesome if you have time to update the Brickbuildr iPab after you go today? Stratford also had amazing grab bags when I went Saturday - many Friends pieces so I have some awesome colours now.
  2. Hoping for help with the wonderful Brickstore program; when I use the Import > Bricklink Shopping Cart function, I always just get an error sound but no error message; the import dialog just closes and nothing happens. The URL I paste matches the required format OK, so a bit lost here. Also, I never see figures for 'All Time Sales' - does that functionality not work any more?
  3. Wow! That's fantastic. I'd like any of those sets. Or the money! Placing Bricklink orders tomorrow, getting excited!
  4. Once again found myself at London Westfield Stratford today :o) as new pieces have just been delivered. Got an £11 large cup: 1043 Trans clear 1x2 plates (which look like this when stuck together) 383 Trans dark blue 1x1 round plates 280 Dark blay 1x1 bricks 80 Black 1x2 plates with handle on one side 18 Reddish brown 2x2 bricks 6 Light blay 2x2x2 containers Current MINIMUM price on Bricklink is £18 for that haul. The duty manager also gave me the nod that there were Friends pieces in the £5.85 Grab Bags. Couldn't resist. Mine was an awesome bag, much fuller than the other ones! It had 552 pieces in it worth £12.50 at minimum current Bricklink prices. Best pieces I got were 9 Bright Pink 1x2 plates, a Dark purple 2x4 brick, 2 DARK Brown 2x2 round plates, 9 Medium Azure 2x2 plates, a 1x3 light blay inverted double slope, 6 trans Dark Pink 1x1 round plates, a Pearl Gold 1x1 round tile! Most of those colours are new for me and I love the dark brown and medium azure. And my Tower Bridge arrived yesterday. I might not sleep tonight.
  5. Last night I dreamt I was back at my teenage home and we were having a jumble sale. I divided some pieces up into trays so that each tray had an inventory of the same pieces in it. (behold, the compulsive obsessive me.) Later i realised I should mix them all up and sell by weight so people could choose, but was anxious I hadn't set a price per kilo yet and the sale was starting. Also, my mum had installed a blind in my room which was made out of some sort of LEGO branded playmat! It was upside down though. Ooh, the symbolism of the upside down LEGO logo! What can it mean!
  6. I remember when I lost my mind There was something so pleasant about that place Even your emotions have an echo in so much space
  7. They even discuss different stacking methods with me!
  8. I never knew that. Thanks... puts quite a different slant on it for me; means LEGO's cost for the project must be much lower than I anticipated. I've noted a lot of apathy on forums towards CUUSOO, and I understand and even agree with a lot of the points. I guess I'm wondering when or indeed if FOL communities such as EB will solidly get behind projects, especially new parts. I know there's no answer to that!
  9. it's like those '70s disaster movies where there's always a drunk character, and when the disaster happens, he is astonished, looks at his bottle, and throws it away convinced he's hallucinating Awesome MOC full of humour and great design.
  10. Yes, but I wonder, if the future CUUSOO sets that get to 10k usually involve some kind of licensing requirement, will LEGO remain open? CUUSOO feels to me like an open invitation to us to prove we love LEGO, and I feel that the message that is coming out so far is that we love LEGO tie-ins. (I should point out, I'm referring to the International version of CUUSOO rather than the initial Japanese models.)
  11. And they're so easy to hide
  12. My nearest one in London isn't quite so plain... But the interior layout is exactly the same as yours!
  13. Sorry if bumping an old thread is a no-no, but it seemed close to what I wanted to say. Ironically, it seems that to make a set popular it needs to have something more than LEGO behind it, like a franchise or a non LEGO fan sites awareness campaign. I'm not saying I don't like those projects (I've supported some) but it seems there's an inherent contradiction in there, that might eventually cause LEGO to pull the plug on CUUSOO. I know a lot of people are waiting for the alpha version before they get into using CUUSOO, but what if that never comes and the chance is lost because not enough LEGO fans got behind it? I'm also noticing there's little discussion on EB about the projects that are new parts ideas. Many people seem to disapprove of the sets on CUUSOO but surely more than 10,000 of us would want to buy many of the great parts being added there? Really interested to hear more thoughts on this.
  14. Sagrada Familia???!!! Yes yes yes please LEGO that would be awesome. Never mind coming out of the Dark Age, this is the building that really got me interested in architecture as a teenager. I just wonder of they can find the pieces to do its organic shapes justice? Really glad Habitat 67 won round 1, it was my favourite of those.
  15. Nice thought! - I am expecting Tower Bridge next week so will check it out! Double deckers are a bit less than 2 storeys high so it should be close
  16. Your English is great! Do you build architectural models? Will you enter the new competition?
  17. FANTASTIC competition and a great prize! Yay Eurobricks! Question... I have started a MOC that would fit the criteria perfectly. I haven't finished it and haven't posted a WIP anywhere - would it be fair to enter it? (If I finish it in time that is!)
  18. That was a total LEGO anxiety dream! Horrible that it turned out to be true Awesome that you are going to make a MOC of your other dream though. Bring on the trans-pearl-gold apples!
  19. I have a feeling there's something wrong with this offer http://direct.tesco....R.215-0542.aspx
  20. Now we just need a Welsh minifig to complete the UK
  21. Thanks - and that's really exciting news about the Architecture competition! I assumed it was the category B one. Great!
  22. Yes, I think it came out 1 March. Overall colour scheme is beautiful. The baby AT-AT is too cute and some neat pieces, for a game. Some trans med blue cheese, which seem to have no function in the actual game And trans clear 1x4 tiles, beautiful. But I was most excited about it being the first set to have 52107 in light blay. My MOC so needed that. Now I just need 3 more of these sets... or for the pieces to turn up on Bricklink!
  23. But can you disassemble the model using only the brick separator? Only joking, awesome job! Bagbuilding is one of those LEGO curiosities that needs a wider audience!
  24. Sorry if I'm being really really really thick here but I want to clarify Category B as I'd like to give it a go. I get that the building must relate to two minifigs (Series 6 and any 1-5), and I get that the S6 one must not appear. With the S1-5 fig, must it appear or not, or does it not matter?!
  25. I didn't mind at all that this set didn't have thrilling new pieces. They don't all have to, even the pricey ones. This one has 245 1x1 plates! That's thrilling to me, in a world where most sets these days seem to use 1x1 round plates instead The best moment building this was when I caught myself staring at the instructions thinking "um, what's next? what's changed in this picture??" Suddenly I felt like a young boy again, befuddled by '70s instructions that don't hand-hold you every tiny step of the way. I made several mistakes too, what a joy! Cursing myself for not paying any attention to the parts list in each step, working backwards to see where I went wrong, pulling apart the model and rebuilding... that's what I call a positive building experience! But there was a thrilling new piece (for me) in this set, although perhaps it's not its first appearance - the new brick separator. What an improvement on the last one! I love being able to take a jumper sandwiched by bricks off a plate. The axle and tile remover make this a significantly more useful tool.
