Cuusoo support for the Vampire GT
mo_ replied to mo_'s topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Boom 1,000 supporters! It’s a good milestone to reach. With this achievement I am proposing an idea to the technic community: I need 5 (more are welcome) volunteers to help me get the word out for the Vampire GT. I have put together an information package with templates that can help with emails and tweets. PM me your email address and once we get the required persons I will send it out. All that is required is 10 mins of your day for tweets and 30 mins twice a week for emails (copy paste). The way I see it is having a coordinated approach to creating awareness for the Vampire GT will greatly increase its chances of being featured on high profile websites and get the attention needed to get to 10,000 supporters. There are 7 billion people all we need is for 0.00014% to vote that’s not too bad right? If you are not interested in volunteering you can still help. I ask everyone if you are a member of any other forum regardless of what it is, place a small blurb in your signature asking for support (this passive method of advertising yields surprising results). One last thing, is there anyone that is a member of TeamLiquid (more than 25 posts) or any other large/popular forum if so please PM me as I need you to create a post there about this. I already have it written out and it will be a matter of copy and paste. I look forward to hearing from you -
Custom Lego Parts
mo_ replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
@Gekke Ted That is brilliant thinking! I did read on a website about this time last year that this was possible and they even mail the parts to you but was still in my dark ages :( @Paul Put the scalpel down that poor connector did nothing to you -

Slow and steady wins the race mate Remember the work around with the tubing but the bushings well that's a hard one to fix unless we build our own ABS machine (MOCs are hard enough as is). Back on topic - I can't wait for the auction, refinance the mortgage and I am ready -
Aussie sales! Share the news of LOCAL sales!
mo_ replied to Darth_Legois's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Thanks for the heads up. I picked up an alien mother ship from the BigW Calamvale here in Brisbane, there was one other left. There were heaps of those 10215 UCS Obi wan star fighters on the shelf, a little pricey at $100, if it goes down to $70 it might get my attention... -

So close, Black with red trim - a quick Google image search on "Black and red porsche" yielded a few good looking pics (too large to link in here) -

May I kindly request for the second model, if possible can it be built in black? -

I don't know if there is another in the works at Paul's workshop. However once permission is granted all will be revealed I promise. -
No worries mate, Good to hear about progress on the tram. I hear that when it comes to money, like my grand dad always says we have a hole in our hand and the money goes right through... I'm in no position to suggest only appreciate. Have a good long weekend. Mo

Hi lightningtiger, This is some fantastic work. Please keep it up. I check this specific thread at least twice a day looking for additions. I am looking forward to the addition of the Tram. One question once all your buildings are in will you be adding houses to mark the end of your "CBD" and start of your suburbs? Mo

Well Paul as you said I am passing the link around. Alright people our esteemed colleague Paul has added his fantastic Vampire GT to Lego Cuusoo. I am doing my bit and will sign up this weekend and give him my vote between watching the golf and studying. I want to see this rolling of the production lines soon and I am sure most of you would like the same. Below is a link: Cuusoo Vampire GT I know the number of Technic fans that are online is small however if we can work together and spread the word to our friends via emails, facebook updates, twitter and maybe if the topic comes up during a conversation we can make an idea a product. Now for the lurkers that will read this I too was one please sign up to Cuusoo and vote. I wonder If lego would give us Chromed Wheels or would it be cheaper for some sort of wheel cover ala 599 GTB. Thanks for reading Edit 1 - I have a juicy piece of information - As Paul mentioned bellow there will be a charity auction with all proceeds going to the Make A Wish foundation between May 16 and 26. More details and links when it becomes available. Edit 2 - I will have a weekly running tally of Cuusoo votes Edit 3 - A Red Vampire GT was given away at Dudeiwantthat A good strategy would be to Google well known car blogs and email 3 different ones every day and tweet it 3 times a day as well. If everyone does this enough attention can be gathered and a special feature on a car website could happen. Hi crowkillers, Inspiration struck me on the way home today. 2 of these Light bricks part number 54604 accompanied by two of these cables x400c20 would look pretty awesome on the bottom of the Vampire GT. It's Mo from Brisbane by the way - thanks for helping me out Sigfried said I can't post links so the above are bricklink part numbers

Pneumatic Idea
mo_ replied to mo_'s topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thank you DLuders, There are small regulators (I did the research a while back I recall something about a fish bowl and how the person adjusted the release so that it was so little that a bubble would appear every five minutes or so - each cartridge lasted a month or so) that screw on to the cartridge however at 800psi you would need to be very careful as to how much you apply to the system this is an untested theory after all. -
Howdy folks, I have been along time lurker in this specific forum (I should be fine as long as my manager doesn't catch me ) and decided to contribute an idea I have been wanting to test. At most bike shops there are tire inflation system that uses a small CO2 cartridge that are 2-3 inches in length. One could use this as an air tank in a pneumatic system (a depleted cartridge as the new ones hold up to 800psi which I am sure would destroy Lego). The only reason I suggest this is due to the small form factor (can be hidden in the chassis of a moc etc.) not as costly as buying an official Lego airtank. I have not personally tried this (I intend to) on a system but if anyone is willing to try it would be nice to hear about your results. Now I know this does not follow the guidelines of 100% Lego but in my opinion the metallic spent airtank might look pretty cool on the back of say the unimog. Please note this suggestion is about incorporating the empty cartridge as part of the system. Thanks for reading mo
