  1. I didn't think the V-19 was worth $54, but now that I've seen how well-designed it is, with automatic landing gear, it might very well be worth its price. TLC might surprise us with another genius design. We can hope...
  2. Hmm...hard question. Very hard. I don't think I can go with one answer here. First off, I'll say 2001. I absolutely loved the Rahi. When I looked at them on a site, I knew I wanted them badly. I have three Rahi sets, and they are awesome. Their functions, unique masks, how everything was integrated, I loved it. The Toa Mata were pretty cool, too. So were the McToran, and the Turaga. Something about all those sets drew me in. I'll be honest and say I don't like gears on canisters, but I still loved those sets. Next, I'll 2002, but only for the Boxor and Bahrag. I love the way the Bahrag look with their mouths open, and the Boxor was a work of genius. I liked 2004, but mostly for the Metru. Cool masks, armor, and I liked how their gears were sort of visible through the chest piece, but not completely. I don't know why, it just looked cool. Of course, 2004 also had Kikanalo, a set I've had a lot of fun with. Finally, 2007, for non-clone sets, something that had been missing since 2003-ish (if the Nuva weren't clones). The Barraki looked cool, and I like them very much. Of course, I also enjoyed the titans of that year.
  3. Wait, I had a thought. Greg said that the stores didn't want similar Phantoka and Mistika because they would be too close to sets from six or so years ago and most current fans wouldn't want them since they would be too close to their original sets that they had. He also said that similarity didn't matter since most current fans don't know or remember the originals. So then theoretically, the sets could've been similar since fans wouldn't know the originals. But then again, the focus groups rejected the prototypes. Anyone wonder why they rejected the prototypes? Maybe they didn't have bazookas and chainguns that they wanted. So many questions. While I'm on the subject of the Mistika, I think they should just rename the Toa Mistika Dark Hunters.
  4. The point is that with anime faces, it won't fit in. The point of LEGO is to build with pieces that can interact and fit in with other pieces, and anime faces won't look good next to regular (and IMO superior) faces. If we were given regular faces, I doubt that many of us would be begging for anime faces. I'm not so sure the kids like it either. I can't see why kids would prefer a face like that, with creepy wrinkles that make them look like they haven't slept in days, huge eyes, etc. Of course, that's my opinion, and you may find them awesome... I'm also beginning to prefer the old clone helms...Hopefully the prices will drop so I can buy replacements. But then again, that ARC... *wub*
  5. It's unknown yet, but I think it's Anakin's transport.
  6. Great news! I hope they're better than the MM sets.
  7. His Kaukau was trans-orange, remember? Or that's what I think Jinzo is referring to.
  8. Yep. Damn those focus groups :P! I'd like to see the early prototypes of the Phantoka, though. I want to see if they are anywhere close to the originals and why the focus groups rejected them.
  9. I'm afraid that it might be very true. If Bionicle continues down the road it's traveling, then pretty soon all canisters will have only sniper rifles and machine guns that are bigger than their heads.
  10. Because most of them are crappy designs that the designers took no time on and (in the case of the Toa) have no resemblance to their former selves. That could be it... Anyways, I don't get why TLC went with dark bley. If you get rid of brown because it's too dull, why use dark bley, an equally dull color, instead of brighter colors, like Metru green, or better yet, Mata green?
  11. They do have regular heads, but they wear the spiked visors like Pohatu and Lewa wore their visors, with their masks.
  12. Okay, I see what you mean. I believe Greg has confirmed that Mazeka is a Matoran. We know that there will be two summer Matoran. Vultraz is one of them. None of the other revealed sets have Matoran. There is one set left that we haven't seen: Mazeka. I'm not exactly surprised. The set designers have been making a lot of not-so-smart choices lately.
  13. I noticed that :D. It looks like whoever was setting up was bored :P. Oh, the TX-130 looks better than I thought. Especially the cockpit, I thought it would be blockier.
  14. Don't worry, there's nine: Radiak, Gavla, Kirop, Tanma, Solek, Photok, and Vican in winter, Vultraz and as-of-yet unknown Matoran (probably Mazeka) in the summer. Yes they do. EDIT: ~VBBN~, the green Toa that comes with Axalara T9 that TLC is pretending is Lewa has the spiky visor too.
  15. I think Krika looks sort of feminine. He reminds me of Roodaka.
  16. Now why couldn't they have included two of those in the gunship too?!
  17. I think each color has its purposes, so I voted both.
  18. Tahu looks better to me now. His mask looks a little better, so does his shuriken. The placements of his jets are weird, and I wish they had used some armor to cover his chest. I don't mind backward Piraka armor as long as there is good armor covering it. Gali looks a lot worse. I think she takes the new spot for worse canister. Why does she have jets on her feet?! What happened to her mask? And more backwards Piraka torso :-X . Onua looks slapped together. Weird red jets, a shield thrown on. His mask has potential, though. Looks sort of like the Ultimate Dume's helm. Krika looks cool to me, even if she uses Kardatoran limbs and the Phantoka Makuta torso. Her launcher looks slapped on, though. Probably my fave. Gorast also looks better. His pose reminds me of a hunched, four-armed monster. Looks sort of nice. Bitil looks nice. However, I'm disappointed that none of the Mistika Makuta have Metru-head-compatible masks :(. Takanuva looks great! His body, armor, weapon, everything looks very nice. His mask is sort of remniscient of the Avohkii, too. A big *y* . The vehicles look nice. I'm a Bionicle completist, so I'll get them all, but probably not all at full price. I really like the blue one (Jetrax T6, right?) and the red one (Axalara T9, correct?). Also, I think Mazeka will be a Matoran with vehicle like Vultrax.
  19. Whoa...SW is gonna be expensive. Well, some of the Bionicle sets are cheaper than I thought. I sure hope some people will be selling these cheap on eBay, cause I don't have the money to buy these at full-price.
  20. Same here. I can't imagine Kopaka throwing away a sword and shield for a huge gun with a spike. Also, they have too much dark bley, among other things. Krika: It seems her back legs are Kardatoran limbs connected to a joint or double-joint that connects to her back feet. Same for her front legs. Ugh. On the other hand, she has a double-jointed neck, but I really don't see the point...oh well. It appears her launcher is on a tail or shoulder-mounted. Not as good as I expected... Gorast: Hmmm. Huge feet, but they might be good for titans. He uses Kardatoran legs for his legs, but at least they're double-jointed. Still... He uses a backwards Inika back. Why?! Some claws that may be good, I guess. Also, he appears to have weird solar-panel wings. Also, like Krika, he uses Kardatoran limbs for his arms. Worst than I thought. Bitil: His wings look nice, I guess, and his feet look big, but may be useful in large Rahi. Same opinion as before. Gali: Still bulked up. She's got some weird things on her launcher, like a disc. There's also an aiming light. It looks like the elf ears will be removable. Her gun is blocking her body, though. Tahu: ...ugh :-X . Onua: Why does he only have a gun? Also, I can't see what his body is, but that red spike on his shoulder looks like one of Gali's elf ears. Can't see where the mask is.
  21. So are Axonn, Ehlek, Carapar, Kalmah, and Mantax coincidences too? Axonn=ax, Axonn has a big ax Carapar=carapace, he's based on a crab with a carapace Kalmah=calamari, he's based on a squid Mantax=manta, he's based on a manta ray.
  22. I agree. All the 'z's and 'x's sound weird, and some names are just weird to say, like "Gadunka".
  23. Mazeka isn't a Makuta.
  24. What can I buy with five EuroBricksBrickBucks
  25. I think he said that he personally picked the name from the name list. I have a bad feeling about this...
