  1. Ouch, that sounds painful. Don't scare the guy away ;-) :-P
  2. Emperor Palpatine to Lord *vader* : Good...good. You've done well, Lord *vader* . All is going as I have foreseen. The Rebels are regrouping, and becoming overconfident in their survival to this point. Little do they know that they are alive due to MY will. They will pay for disobeying me. Kill as many as you please, but remember to leave a few alive. Fear is one of the most powerful weapons a Sith can possess. Make sure their "friends" hear about what happens when you betray your master... Grand Moff Tarkin to *vader* : You threaten a Grand Moff?! The Emperor will not stand for such behavior, *vader* . I will not soon forget this threat. Admiral 4J to Lord *vader* : Yes, my Lord. I'll dispatch several thousand to the planet Naboo. While we wait for the probes to get there and report back, I shall ready my fleet for immediate departure, if we find anything there. I will report back on my findings.
  3. Wonderful job Athos! What I'd love to see is, with your talent, a larger set of a workshop
  4. Yeah, this would belong in the Theater board. I'd love to see a Lego Zelda though *wub*
  5. I thought the age limit was more...well, non existant. Like we know it's there, but nobody cares?
  6. Don't worry. We're a really friendly little community.
  7. Oh knock off the grammar cop routine, this isn't FBTB :-P If his posts are readable, they're fine ;-)
  8. Bad sne, bad :-P
  9. Holy hell, I nearly forgot about Dark1, and...VCVC...er, sorry, this is about welcoming you :-P Welcome to EB, I'm sure you'll enjoy it here
  10. Admiral 4J to Lord *vader* : My Lord, we have arrived safely in the Death Star. The trip was uneventful an- Grand Moff Tarkin to *vader* : We've arrived on my masterpiece, the power that will rule the Galaxy with an iron fist. The Emperor is most...impressed *smirk* This is truly the age of machine. It's a pity your "force" wasn't as useful...You should come and observe this battle station for yourself.
  11. No problem. If I have the time today, and my net doesn't go out (we're expecting somewhat of a power outage), expect a review of the surprisingly awesome Grievous fighter, and the greebly goodness of the Y-wing ;-)
  12. Wonderful old set that doesn't look too expensive. Gah, you always make me want to increase my Classic Space collection!
  13. How's this?
  14. Well, welcome to Eurobricks! I hope you'll enjoy yourself here :-)
  15. A wooden board, not a message board :'-(
  16. I was trained back when I was 6, and I made it to purple belt when I was an early teen, unfortunately due to circumstances I quit. Because it was so long ago, I'm afraid I don't remember the name of the style. But I was the first in my class to break a board :-P
  17. I'm afraid not :'-( Shhhhhh :-P
  18. Finally! I don't know about you, but I've been highly anticipating this baby. Actually I do know about you, you have too :-P I love this thing, but let's get to why: Set Name: AT-ST Set Number: 7657 Piece Count: 244 Price: $19.99US Okay, first let's start off with some pictures of the box. Apparently this is called a 30th anniversary set. The set comes with a much-anticipated AT-ST driver with new blaster mold! I love him. Well, I love him, but I'm not in love with him :-P He wasn't as great as I had hoped. I'm sure I can find use for his gun, helmet, and torso though. His head...ech, fleshie as expected. The instruction manual comes with a list of all parts on the back: I found the build very easy and straight-forward, even though it included some very smart mechanisms. The whole thing took me about half an hour. It also included some very interesting and useful pieces, such as and and the old turntable actually comes in two separate parts that you snap together! I look at this as a wonderful opportunity to get those parts separate for MOCing ;-) Now, let's look at the actual machine. Fearsome, eh? Don't mess with the Empire *vader* (unless you're short and fuzzy that is. In that case by all means go ahead X-D ) I would say this next image was just me being lazy, but to save face, let's say this is the point of view of a fallen rebel soldier, shall we? Let's start looking at the individual aspects of the set. First, the legs. This happens to be the greatest area of contention, and critics' greatest gripe with the set. I agree, it wasn't done so well (again, fallen rebel) The legs can move, but only backwards :-| So this thing can't walk, unless you count moonwalking (and don't bring up that they were on the forest MOON of Endor...) The light bley disk on the side is held on with a rather simple mechanism: And they actually hold those little claw things on the back of the legs by inserting them into the short tubes of plates! Definitely not a common official technique... The feet I love though. Very simple, but beautiful in the simplicity: (Did I mention all the wonderful bley parts in this set? A Space MOCers dream come true!) Now that we've moved past the horror that are the legs, let's get to the rest of the horror, er, set. I meant set. I love this set, I really do ;-) The "head". This has been criticized as being too long, too big, etc. I'd have to agree, but only to an extent. It doesn't look huge in person, it looks right. It looks armored. It only looks bad if you compare it to...well, what it's supposed to look like The head turns on a rather simple but sweet mechanism of turning a wheel at the back. (apparently our dying rebel soldier snuck a peek at the plans for the AT-ST? Sneaky devil, musta been a Bothan I really dislike the eyeflaps. Instead of being the old kind, that would go over cannon emplacements on Pirate ships, they're in the middle of the tile...and can't cover the "eye" completely Also, the cockpit is rather barren and poorly designed Though it does include a 'holster' for the blaster Now for something positive :-D The head is nicely greebled. The back: The top with hatch: Small missile launcher (IIRC): Concussion grenade launcher: The mechanism for the lasers is also really simple, but provides some nice greebling and details: The instructions are REALLY promoting the battle packs, too...: Extra pieces: Again, the might of the Empire *vader* Overall, I love this set, even though I have a lot of nitpicks and negative things to say about it. It's an amazing bley and dark bley parts pack, the fig is nice, and the gun/helmet are sweet. There are some nice details, and some rare parts. The set is also really nice on it's own, if you don't look at what the AT-ST is supposed to look like (the head IS a little long and thin...) It's a shame that the legs won't let it really walk, but it's very stable. The head-turning mechanism is also really nice, and allows for some realistic function. Overall, this is leagues beyond the last version, and it's pretty cheep to boot (comparing price to parts. Definitely pick a couple of these babies up, you won't regret it! Parts: 10 Price: 8 Figs: 7 (another wouldn't have hurt) Playability: 6 (the head-turning mechanism saved it on this one, but the legs really hurt it...) Fun: 9 Overall: 8.4 The AT-ST is a must buy for me, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it if you pick it up. They're fearless warriors of the Empire. Unless...you have some teddy bears with a mission, then they get scared :-P Gallery when moderated: here Larger, higher-res pics
  19. Admiral 4J to Lord *vader* : My Lord, I stand personal watch over the Emperor and Grand Moff Tarkin in the secondary Bridge of my Star Destroyer. The Emperor is meditating, however Grand Moff Tarkin insisted on taking command of my fleet. A contingent of my fleet's highest ranking Stormtroopers is waiting outside, in case anyone tries to enter. This was also done so that if any of the Stormtroopers were traitors, they would not be able to shoot the Emperor. The Emperor however, assured us that none of them were. We will make it to the Death Star within one galactic standard hour, as long as the Grand Moff does not insist on taking any more detours.
  20. Grand Moff Tarkin to *vader* : Your escort has arrived to pick the Emperor and myself up. He's an interesting choice for an Admiral, *vader* The Emperor is eagerly anticipating the visit to me Death Star, I'm sure he will not be disappointed. Everything is running according to schedule, isn't it? I'll notify you when we've arrived safely. Emperor Palpatine to Lord *vader* : All goes well, Lord *vader* . The rebellion is gathering strength, but they will soon be crushed under the might of the Sith. The rebel of whom you spoke is not a Jedi, and only has the most basic of force sensitivity. He is not a threat. It also seems that your old Master is making an impression in the Force once more. I've not yet felt Master Yoda, however this means little. I'm more concerned about Kenobi. Find him, and destroy him. I also want you to take a fleet and search the remaining planets in the Corellia system, the ones your Admiral did not strip of life. There you will find a rebel bases. Attack the small fleet they have in orbit, then raid the surface base on foot. When you enter, I want you to kill all inside except for six Bothans. Let them live, they will be of use to us later. And your Admiral, he has a darkness within him. I want you to use it, and unleash it against the rebels, like you would any other tool. Do not disappoint me, Lord *vader* . Do not let your mind wander.
  21. Congrats, I hope your good fortune carries along as you get older
  22. This is areally a brilliant little MOC here. I love the sloping path, I love the construction of the tower, and the yellow actually doesn't look out of place! Great find
  23. Admiral 4J to Lord *vader* : T-the Emperor himself? Yes Lord Vader. The fleet will have repairs finished within the hour, immediately following we will depart for Imperial Center.
  24. I think there was a topic about this awhile ago, back when the Viking Chess set came out
