  1. petroleum-based products selling petroleum-based products :o)
  2. Please excuse the coming "creative re-use" of your idea by just about everyone on this forum. :) We don't have Citroen in the US, but it could just about pass as a Mercedes Sprinter van, which is available here for the past couple years.
  3. Very nice! I am currently designing my own large MOC, which primarily uses white. It looks good in LDraw, but was worried it would be "too much white" in the brick. But if yours is any indication, should be fine!
  4. Lego designs are 100% in the details. So, that's how I'd apportion the credit to her. Even if the same overall concept is similar (it's a standard building type), it's not really the same design at all. I bet when she was a kid, she thought, "When I grow up, I want to be a Lego designer!" And then she added the thought, "Oh, and I want half the posts on the message board to be about the fact that I'm a woman, and discussing how attractive/unattractive I am!" Anyway... March 1st? Is there a final date yet? Or will I have to go to the Lego store EVERY DAY to check
  5. 1. Hard to know for sure 2. Cannot be measured with a linear concept of time 3. Records lost to the ages 4. Modular buildings. They remind of me of human cities. 5. Crunchy, good with milk.
  6. Nice.
  7. I don't usually get worked up about fantasy themes but... must... resist...
  8. It's incredible -- my only suggestion would be to break scale a little bit on the bridge and make it large enough for a minifig to stand inside.
  9. It's always amazed me how much people in the UK love Fords.
  10. Great use of a color that can be hard to work with :)
  11. It took a 28 hour marathon session and required various stimulants and anti-anxiety medications, but I have accomplished my masterpiece.

Is anything besides the color changed?
  13. Well, the longer it takes, the cheaper it will get. VIP points Might not have to pay anything for it
  14. I have the Maersk train, and my wife bought the red passenger train last weekend, which we are going to build tonight. And terrorize the cats. They are deathly afraid of (but fixated on) the train sets. Well... this was my first powered train and it did have the intended effect on my Big Cat Rusty :)
  15. I have all of mine, but it's in relatively poor condition (faded, scratched, brittle.) I have it separated and sorted into little plastic bags and stored in a set of containers. I don't mix it with my new pieces; if I *need* a vintage piece, I will go pull it, but I prefer to keep the new bricks on their own.
  16. 1994 - 2011 When I was 14, I discovered computers. 15 years later, I discovered the Lego retail store.

Excellent work. I love these MOCs that show the darker underbelly of society. Sex work will never be erased from the world by using the pathetically weak tool of "the law" (hasn't worked yet.) So might as well take the Dutch Model and make it safe, legal, and taxable. Bringing things into the light of day is probably the only way to help reduce the power of the truly repellent sides of this industry (trafficking, slavery, etc.)
  18. Yes, especially for members of parties promoting "family values" and "traditional marriage." :) I enjoy seeing little MOCs based on real life stories. Thanks for posting :)
  19. But it's not the same at all. It's not an exclusive lock on a resource or limited edition. Lego will produce the sets until they stop selling. If I buy 100 of a set to keep as an investment, Lego will say great! and then produce 100 more. And those high secondary market prices are determined solely by what people are willing to actually pay for something that is a discretionary luxury at the end of the day. Do I want to pay 500+ usd for a used Green Grocer, or a 300+ for a used Metroliner? No, not really. Will I? Not sure... ask me In December :P If you can afford all those, you should understand how markets work and be careful about the word "fair." How else would you acquire them? Or just go without and cry about the angst.
  20. I think that tomorrow I will break down my creator sets, some smaller City vehicles, and maybe Midieval Market Village. I need pieces for MOCs and I'm running out of display space. Things I'm keeping built and on display: Maersk train Maersk ship GE PS FB TH (when it comes out) VW van Wind turbine from the transporter set I was considering breaking down a couple of my modulars because they have such great parts, and I am extremely interested in building modular building MOCs, but decided against it because they are just too cool, and would be bound to kick myself down the road if I did so. If I feel the need that strongly, I will just buy another copy of the set. I'm also collecting the winter village sets; I will put these out during the holidays, unless I also break them down.
  21. I also saw them in LDD, but I haven't seen anything like that in the plastic yet. Here's hoping!
  22. Many (maybe 20%) of my old minifigs (15-20 years) have cracked arms.
  23. Thanks again everyone. I've been hit hard with the train bug, and I'm now hard at work drawing up schematics for a pretty cool train station in LDD now. It will probably take me a while to buy all the parts and build it, but I'll be sure to share it here when it's ready.
