Eurobricks Clone Wars Building Contest
JimBee replied to Clonecommando007's topic in Watto's Junkyard
Hey, thanks for the feedback guys! maybe i will make a vig of that pic, Oky Wan, but not for the contest, of course. and DSR, it doesnt have to be on a base plate specifically, but it has to be on bricks, i think. so that rules out building a custom ship only, but a custom ship on a baseplate with a little scene is probably acceptable, just look at SirNadroj's. -
Thanks for the pic, Jesper. Now this set is looking good... TLG is eating up my wallet... i need a new hobby...

Hey, thanks for all the feedback, guys! ill try to do the Sith Infiltrator this weekend.

I am... a DUPLO "Big Cheifs Camp"... better than nothing i suppose.

Thanks, Big Pete and mammymarf for the pics and Blues for the news (lol). Nothing that special, IMHO. but its a mini, so that should be pleasing to some. And could this be a hint that the Turbo Tank is in the movie/show? Very likely, i think, but what about a new TT set? i missed out on the old one, but was it really that popular? and it was only 3 years ago... hmm...

7656 General Greivous's Starfighter Release: 2007 Number of Pieces: 232 Minifigs: 1 Brickset Welcome! This is my first review, so contstructive critisism is very much appreciated! On to the review: First, we start out with the box: The box art is the same as always since 2006. nothing special. Then we start the build. The build is fairly easy, and will take the seasoned builder about 15-20 min to complete. Here is the finished model: and bird's eye view: As you can see, this ship is very sleek. The fins or "wings" each have an outer slope and an inner one, with the guns in between. There are also cones on the front of the fins, which give the ship an even more sleek look. In the middle of the wings there is the main body, with a big slope and stripes decorating it. This set has a very good playability factor, as I'm about to show you now. The guns on the ship are pretty cool looking to begin with; a bley slope attaching a lightsaber hilt and a trans-neon green stud to the fin on each side. But theres more than what meets the eye: Yes, the guns flip up! ...and they can flip all the way back to hide them, for whatever case they need hiding. Lets have a look at the back, there is a tail fin used as landing gear and some lightspeed boosters: But wait... The tail fin can flip up for flight thanks to a hinge attached to the back of the cockpit. Heres another playability factor: The cockpit can slide open very smoothly and easily. Heres how this is possible: A clever system under the hood allows the cockpit to open. See those two bley pieces on the black ones? Those bley ones attach to the tan plates under the hood, and the hood and windsheild attach to the black peices. The black and bley pieces work together as a sliding system, so the cockpit opens. Viola! And then the cockpit snaps in place thanks to the red hook and clip. Its a very accurate system, and works very well. You'll want to open and close it over and over again! Now, finnaly to the fig: The General himself. A very impressive fig, with a new head and torso mold. In this set, (which is one of only two with Greivous in it) he comes with 2 green and two blue lightsabers, all with bley hilts ( ). I was hoping for chrome hilts, but its a minor fault. Grievous also comes with a new mold pistol blaster (not pictured). Heres the General in the cockpit (sadly a weak cockpit, no details): He just half lays down on a small slope. In this set, he doesnt come with a cape beacuse with it on, the cockpit doesnt close. Thats about it, heres the... FINAL VERDICT: Build: 7/10 Fairly easy but fun. A little bit weak. Playability: 8/10 Many playability factors, but some are boring or pointless. Swooshability: 8/10 very fun to fly around, sometimes pieces break off. Minifigs: 10/10 one amazing fig with 4 lightsabers and a new blaster. what more could you ask for? Design: 9/10 very sleek, but hardly any real texture. i like it, but others might want greebling. Price: 10/10 Overall Score: 9/10 A very cool ship with a very cool minifig and accessories. One of the best SW sets I have ever seen for its small price I highly recommend it to any kind of SW, LEGO, or SW LEGO fan. Hope you enjoyed my review, please leave feedback!

Eurobricks Clone Wars Building Contest
JimBee replied to Clonecommando007's topic in Watto's Junkyard
Here are my entries: Vig: A deal with the Count: This takes place between AOTC and ROTS. Its when Count Dooku discovers Greivous, the Kaleesh, has great potential as a leader for the Separatists. In a devious plan, the Count uses his force powers to purposely crash the Kaleesh's starfighter. Greivous was mortally wounded. Dooku then went to the crash site and offered to help Greivous by giving him a new droid body, and return, Greivous would serve as the droid general. The wounded soon-to-be general agreed, and he never knew that the Count himself had made the general crash... Reference: Star Wars: The Ultimate Visual Guide, By Ryder Windham. Big: Battle of Jabiim: This also takes place in between episodes 2 and 3. In this battle, a detachment of clone troopers and many Jedi were sent to the planet Jabiim to fight off the CIS forces. This planet was very important to the Republic because of its large amount of resources. General Kenobi and his padawan, Anakin Sky Walker were sent there to lead the clones and Jedi into battle. Unfortunatley, the CIS started to become to powerful, and many Jedi and Clones died. One of the Jedi thought to be dead was Kenobi himself. Anakin had lost his master... and the Republic was losing the battle badly, so an order came from Coruscant to tell the remaining troops and Jedi to pull out and form a full retreat. As Anakin made his journey back to Coruscant and mourned his fallen master, he found that he could use the force to squeeze a man's windpipe. But to his great surprise and happiness when he returned to Coruscant, he found that his master escaped and flew back to the Jedi Temple. But the mourning continued for the lost battle and brave Jedi who lost their lives in it... Reference: Star Wars: The Ultimate Visual Guide, By Ryder Windham. You can see more pics of both entries here, and all comments can be posted in the discussion thread. Thanks! -
My sigfig that (kinda) looks like me: when i get Anakins CW hair and Agent Fuse's head, it will really look like me.

here are my first POTC minifigs: Captain Jack Sparrow (right) and Will Turner (left) Sparrow carries a cutlass and a pistol with one shot, saving that one shot for his mutineer first mate: Captain Barbossa, as seen in Curse of the Black Pearl. The cape on his hips is meant to be part of his jacket, the part that goes down the back and stops behind the knees. He is also equipped with a tricorn hat and his "effects" holder(Indys pouch). His "effects" are his sword, pistol, and compass. Will carries a cutlass that he hade in his own blacksmith shop and a knife given to him by his father as seen in Dead Man's Chest. Indy's pouch is meant to be a scabbard in this case. The hair is custom, if you count stepping on a Qui-Gon Jinn hair and accidentally breaking off the side burns a custom. Please leave constructive critisism if you can. im planning on using the elf dreadlocks for Sparrow if TLG decides to make elfs for Castle.

Ive finnaly done some more smash bros figs... the whole collection so far from left to right: Pit (finnaly made his wings by folding a HP dementor cloak), Samus (ill add your decal soon, LuxorV), Fox/Wolf (could be both... couldnt find a brown clip), Meta Knight (w/ sword), Diddy Kong (the whip for tail was not my idea, it was another MOCer i found on google), Mario (wrong kind of head, i know. the white and red thing in his right hand is a mushroom), and Link and his horse, Epona. Heres some closeups of Link and Epona: Back: Separate: ...Comments? Questions? Concernss? Healthy Criticism?

New BrickArms Edged Prototypes
JimBee replied to the enigma that is badger's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
they look pretty cool as far as i can see . The machette looks a little plain, but they all still great additions. Its nice to see BrickArms producing something besides guns. -
again, great work, you two . I like the DS a little better, this one just cracks me up, with the pigs fighting the sheep...

The Star Wars Comic Game-Season One
JimBee replied to JimBee's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
the whole "different torso" thing is becoming a real problem. not that its your fault. im using that torso for Lt Col Thok, so do you mind if i use Indy's for your character? theyre both leather jackets, so do think Indys torso would work? oh, and heres a better pic of my character: by the way, my character also carries a black, small handgun. you can get it in AGENTS:mission 2, as well as some other sets. -
thank you for that, its the game i told TDF about, and not the BF games.
-
ok thanks! thats what i needed to know.
-
thanks for the (long) list, hewkii9. i learned quite a lot from this, and i was always wondering why theres only like 2 black minifigs. and like Deinonuychus pointed out, the guns dont make any sense. Theres plenty to go around in Indy and Agents...

im sorry to hear that . glad to hear your girlfriends grandmother is ok. all those bricks fused together... oh no, ideas are popping up in my head... ive actually done that, with old action figures. despite all of the warings of "dont play with fire", i burned off a pokemon action figures wings and while they were still sticky and hot, i put them on a batman guy. burning plastic smells really good though... TLG better start putting a new warning in manuals: a pic of a burning match next to a lego brick w/ a red X over it... sorry, got off topic... again, sorry for you loss... of the part of the house and legos.
-
Sorry for the (not really...) alarming title, but ive always wondered: how do you put a bunch of flame pieces together to create a tall flame? when the flames are all connected on top of each other? thanks to anyone who could tell me .

Congrats! im so glad i could register with my e-mail adress. i knew you guys were going to make a site, i just had a gut feeling. i dont know yet, though. EB was my first lego home, but horizon looks very impressive. like i said on that forum, ill see how everything plays out, and ill visit a lot. nice to see the TIE army again, though i doubt ill join, not enough time... well, good luck! like i said, i will post there as much as i can. EDIT: just remembered what i was going say: its hard starting all over. I just started to get the whole entire feel of EB,(meaning i post and understand everything fully now, and am interested in many themes/forums, and i have made so many friends and accuaintinces here, and i will lose most of that at BrickHorizen, but many EBers are there, and its good to try different things, so ill see how it goes.) and ive just became a knight.

very good as always, SirNadroj! ive read all 4, but this is my favorite. the lifelites make it really amazing, and the pics that show the dioramas without the lights turned on really make the viewer realize how awesome the creation really is. and in reply to one of the comments above, is this really a movie? Fabuland ducks ahoy!
