  1. Hybros eyes the helmet that the Moon Elf standing some distance off was twirling in her hands. "Ehem, I could not help but to notice... that helmet, it seems quite rare and would perhaps fit well with my other equipment, heheh..." "Piss off, demon, it's not for sale." Not to be discouraged, Hybros pushes a little more. "Perhaps you would be interested in some rare items of my own... You could use a new weapon and shield, no? How about this Rumble Mace and Tusk Shield?" Jinnipher appraised the items. "Huh, not bad. But you have no idea what it took to get this helmet. You try hitting an ancient dragon enough times to pump him full of poison. It's not easy bringing down a creature that old or that big." "Poison, you say? If that is your weapon of choice, perhaps this will interest you." He held forward the newly-acquired Toxic Hood. "You would be able to heal yourself in a pinch with this, while stunning your enemies with the mace and shield." Jinnipher considered for a moment. "Three for one... Well, I've got to say the magical properties that I'm told this helmet has do nothing for me. You drive a hard bargain, small fry. Hand them over." Jinnipher trades the Immortal Helm for Hybros' Rumble Mace, Tusk Shield and Toxic Hood. "A pleasure doing business with you, heheh." Jinnipher simply rolled her eyes and turned away, inspecting her new items.
  2. "Heheh, it was really a team effort. Baba was no match for the combined might of the five-- ehehm, six of us at the time. We were not without casualties and Byblos is... no longer with us." "Hm, yes, well here is a little extra for your troubles." Hybros handed over 250 gold. "I do not suppose you have yet chosen a side in all this chaos in Eubric? Without Baba the lines between the factions seem a little clearer."
  3. No, only in the Community and Culture forums. It sounds like Dragonator is MIA since he has still not gotten back to Sandy. I think the next step would be to ask other mods/admins what to do and then figure out who will have mod powers in here and run this game. Otherwise, yeah, we're not able to have any more quests or update any topics.
  4. Jinnipher snorted. "If I was talking about you old man, you would know it. What's the point in these house alliances if heroes are just going to turn around and sell their wares on the black market for profit? There's no honor or loyalty in that, and if I were the Hinckwells or Shadeaux I would be quick about removing any turncoats in my ranks." "Being sweet has never been my mission. If it was I'd probably be buried in ash back in Moone, along with the rest of my people. Fortunately I have the gall to behead anyone who gets in my way. I'd be surprised if you survived this long with just sugar and spice, atar." The Moon Elf surveyed Prophet with a raised eyebrow for a moment before producing the Gloves of the Aspirant Zieg-friend (Spellpower +5, Max Ether +5; suitable to those with reputation among the Ziegfrieds only; if reputation is great, values are doubled; if reputation is outstanding, values are tripled; handwear), from her bag and handing them over in exchange for the gold. "Gods know I'll never use these. Spellcasting is for pansies, and they're not even my color."
  5. "Ehehm, that reminds me, did you ever pick up that item that I forgot to buy from Zed? I just returned from Goetia... We managed to prolong our time on this world by fending off those from another, heheh. Another archdemon is slain, along with this Baba witch that everyone has been so worried about here lately..."
  6. Jinnipher scoffed, and twirled the Immortal Helm between her hands. "Great, another Lind. Does loyalty mean nothing to you people?" ---- Meanwhile, Hybros slips into the saloon and takes a seat next to Arthur and Matthias, but seeing the former preoccupied by business, he turns to the gnome instead. "Long time no see, heheh. How was the rest of Etheria?"
  7. Thanks to Technic Moderator Jim, I've found out how to single-space lines. Shift+Enter will do the trick!
  8. That's huge! Thank you!
  9. Seeing that no one was responding, Hybros accepted his part of the gold and his Bladerang and tipped his hat. "See you around."
  10. Hybros nods and accepts the Pentacle, absorbing its power immediately. He distributes 28 gold to each party member, plus 49 extra to Namyrra. "From the gloves. I will also need my Bladerang back, Atramor, eheh."
  11. Thanks to the admin team for all their hard work! The forum looks great and even the mobile version is a bit easier to navigate now. A few minor complaints: there's no way to single-space lines between text (I know this is not a priority to fix), and the mobile version is a little graphic-heavy - I really liked how plain the old one was. Other than that there have been some really nice new features, like highlighting text in a post to quote just that part, and the user control panel is much more intuitive.
  12. Hybros sulked the entire way back, opting to stare over the ship's stern at the boundless Crystalline Sea. His thoughts lay primarily on his people and how he would ever complete his life goal. Zoot's Reaper was finally quiet, but Hybros wondered about the nature of the weapon - no, creature. Something had led him to Eubric at the beginning, and the Zoot's Plaything had become inseparable from the imp since. And it had led him to find his people - and the archdemons. Had a part of Zoot been with him all along? It was not out of the question, for he must have escaped from Azazot somehow. And what was the true intention of the small piece of Zoot? His thoughts drifted to Byblos. He wondered if he would ever see the metasimian again. And Baba. Without ever having met the witch, he had been the one to kill her in a few fatal blows. He didn't even realize the threat she posed, not fully, not like Althior or Boomingham. For someone who seemed so impossible to beat, Heroica found a solution. Hybros realized that no single person could ever change the world like Baba wanted to. --- In Heroica Hall, Hybros muttered, "Ehehm, well that is that, I suppose... I will take my part of the quest reward before dealing with some business in the Hall, and then visit my people in Zylstra. There is much to tell." He tipped his hat to the questmates. "We did well in Goetia. I will see you around, I am sure. Monk, if it is all the same to you, that Pentacle... I could make use of it. In exchange I could give you this Scholar's Codex. It seems you are the best suited besides Althior to learn from Bookmark. And I believe this Horned Demon Hat belongs to you. And Namyrra, will you return to your own people as well?" He handed her back the Medal of Glory and Overkill Gloves. OOC: I'm glad I could be on your final quest, Sandy. Heroica has meant a lot to me, so thank you for all your hard work in making this a really enjoyable experience. Hopefully you'll still have time to pop in now and then.
  13. "Some things are much worse than death," Hybros added solemnly. OOC: Can we also get the artifacts/weapons we lent to Catnip?
  14. Jinnipher rolled her eyes from a corner at the bar. "If you got Gabriel in here on the piano you could start a band." She snorted. "With the giant as the frontman. Now that would liven this place up."
  15. Hybros watched as Byblos ascended, thinking perhaps he was watching his last chance to get the rest of the imps out of Azazot. He gave a small wave before the portal closed and gazed at the empty sky that was left behind. He pulled the rim of his hat down farther and returned his gaze to the ground. He said nothing to the king or priestess or even Sham. head hung low. OOC: I should have exactly 170 gold thanks to overkill from Baba. Unfortunately, Hybros wasn't wearing the Medal of Glory so he should just be at level 48. I would've tried to switch it in, but...
  16. The whispering from Zoot's Reaper finally stopped. Hybros lowered his head so the rim of his hat covered his eyes. "...Perhaps... there is another way. I do not know, but what you say is true. I... I cannot risk something like this happening again. It is no use if my people do not have a world to come back to." He raised his head to look at Byblos. "Then we will see each other again someday." He held out a hand. "Thank you for assistance with the book the first time around. If anyone can be trusted with it, it is you."
  17. Hybros frowns. Zoot's Reaper was still buzzing in it's sheath, now whispering wildly into Hybros' head. He rested a hand on the hilt to quiet it. "In the wrong hands. If we send the Pandemonicon copies back to their homes they are only more likely to be found by those who want to escape and back into this world. These archdemons can never be killed, and they will never stop trying to escape. The book is safest in my hands."
  18. Hybros sheathed his weapons, and paused. "...No. Byblos, my people have endured in the void for many years. I would not wish the same fate upon you or anyone else. That is why I need that Pandemonicon. There are still some of us imps in that void. I figured out how to get them out once, and I can do it again. I must do it again. And the Monk is right. Perhaps the final Pandemonicon is in the hands of someone even more dangerous. We will not know until we face him. Until then, we must learn what we can from this book." He held out a hand to take the Pandemonicon from Althior. "Please."
  19. Hybros lowered his weapons. It was finally over. "Heh... Well from all that I've heard about this witch she certainly was not much of a match for us. Boomingham, Guts and Eric would be impressed, I think, heheheh." OOC: Sandy, did you mean Winged Warrior the class in regards to the Garuda Wings, or any flying character?
  20. OOC: My bad. I thought it would be fairly obvious so no need to wait for everyone to get their actions in. Sandy, I should've gotten a little overkill gold. "...I will take it. I am just glad we have some way to fight her." Hybros equips the Psycrown in place of the Crystal Shoes, then dumps his Minimizing Dust all over the Mindflayer. "Take this!" With the witch weakened, the opportunity to end her reign is wide open. Hybros prepares to attack her twice in the front row with Zoot's Reaper and the Sword of Ancestral Hatred (next round - barring any surprises I think we can just autoroll into that).
  21. OOC: Since the game script for this round should be obvious, I'll just move things along here. Atramor swings his Ball and Chain at Semyaza from the back row, doing nothing if she is killed. Althior swings his Scepter of Divine Affinity at Semyaza in the back row, or heals any injured heroes with his Boon Rod if she is killed. Byblos throws the Clock Cog at Semyaza or retrieves the Pandemonicon. Battle Order: Pretzel Pretzel Hybros Atramor Atramor Namyrra Hybros Byblos Althior Althior
  22. Hybros attacks Semyaza with Zoot's Reaper and the Heavy Flail in the front row first, then the back row. If she is dead, he slots a Health Core in his Hollow Dagger in place of the Purging Water. "Ehem, we will need some way to fight this witch eventually, unless she keeps producing foes for us to fight..."
  23. OOC: Not sure where K-Nut is, but in case he can't post, Althior casts Wind spells on Garuda in the back row. Byblos does nothing. Battle Order: Pretzel Hybros Atramor Namyrra Byblos Althior
  24. Hybros nods in approval to Atramor, though somewhat amazed the Decamodifier worked. Surely something so big could not fit into something so small. "If he thought Azazot was bad, I wonder how he will like it in that card, heheh." The imp takes out the Rumble Mace and Zoot's Reaper, smashing Garuda and slicing Semyaza in the front row, twice.
  25. Judging from the responses, we ought to keep on the path we're going with new game management. I'd love to help implement the story ideas you had, Sandy. Perhaps not in the form of hosting a quest but planning and stuff like that. I propose we at least give some mod powers to a few people in this form so we can start cleaning up important topics (right now a lot of the links don't work and some formatting is still off). I'd be happy to help with that, but in general I would nominate the likes of Zepher, CallMePie, and WBD as the "old guard" to be in charge of manager stuff, if they were up to it. I guess Dragonator hasn't responded on this yet but that would be my suggestion. I tried this on Jinnipher's stats page but pressing enter still automatically puts in the weird double-space. Is there any way to remove it from the formatting entirely?
