7195 Ambush in Cairo 7196 Chauchillas Cemetery Battle

INDEXED Hi all, finally I had time to build next one from summer sets. 1.BEFORE I BOUGHT Beiing happy seeing, how TLC is going back to roots with 2009 City line, I hadn´t missed chance to get few of those sets, and make a review. I was looking forward to compare it with one my childhood favourite sets, 6351. 2. IMPRESS WHEN UNPACKED Seems, that there is nothing to surprise me. Two numbered bags, large part loose in the box, instructions and sticker sheet. Where are good old times of printed parts, instead of those horrible sticker cheats... 3. IMPRESS BY BUILDING First polybag allows to build a chassis of the camper van, two figures and a fish grill. Second reveals the top part of the van. In 15-20 minutes building is over, set is ready to use. I mark it as 6+, easy to build. 4. IMPRESS WHEN BUILT - APPEARANCE Appearance is not overriding current 6-wide standards, I appreciate lime green/white combination. Normally I hate those new colours, but the camper is basically freetime activity tool, where funny colours are quite suitable. I have a condemnation to the used opening system, when opened, caravan looks unrealistic, up-down mechanism used at 6351 I found better than side-center here. There is a ugly space at front mudguards, seen on more new sets already. But, in overall, sets appearance is nice anyway. 5. IMPRESS WHEN BUILT - PLAYABILITY No complaints! Finally, classic doors returned to front cabin of the car! Opening system of rear cabin, criticised in appearance column, I must in opposite appreciate in playability section, as for kids will be much easier to rebuild cabin from daily mod to night sleep mod. Accessories, like pan, cup, bicycle, surfboard and fish grill are even enforcing play power and prolonging play time. 6. FINAL RESULT 7639 is pretty way, how 6351 has been ressurected with a modern face and fresh colour combination. Surprisingly I have to declare, that if I had to choose between 6351 and 7639, I will take the new one. 6351 will get from me some points due to ship on trolley add-on, but if compared vans, 7639 is much better. Not so box-looking, with better interior. I can suggest to buy the set to our new cities.

7199 I will not build, but I sold some pieces to EB members, so hopefully a review will come from them.

Klaus, you will see pictures of built 7747 soon, but not a review. I sold this set as MISB to one member of my AFOL community, and he will make a review, but in Czech language, so I will link photos within one week. I will make review for 7639 during weekend, and, most probably, for 7195 and 7196. Finally I have been able to acquire those sets too, and I am really looking forward for it.

5. 7686 Helicopter Transport For many new pictures see my forum Brickdome.cz. No need to double effort and post pictures to BS.

4. 7642 Garage It shows, that you can make 6 wide or 8 wide rails....seems, that the system is similar as at old 12 V trains, rails are not firmly fixed to plates, so width can be adjusted.

I have spoken with one TLC manager bit about this matter, of course, that they are. But, from other point of view - it is also good promo for them, with so many AFOLs waiting each new picture. TLC is not supporting leakages in any way, but they don´t have much power to stop it. Now I leaked few pictures, last year someone from Asia leaked other (I think it has been whung, also EB member, who posted some new sets as first one last year), TLC can never avoid.

Will check what I can do. . Btw.

Frankly speaking, only one thing, that I find good at this set, is the orange bike. This was the main reason, why I decided to sell this set to my friend, instead of reviewing it on my own. 6357 was much better though.

I am lamer, you are right . I hadn´t viewed part carefully enough, as I thought, that could be fire hose, but was too lazy to take a second look on the box

After reviewing 7198 here, next one set is coming to be done in next days or two weeks. For now, few pictures of a box. Indy theme is fully loaded this year, and 7197 just confirms, that this theme is must have. You can see new part - turkish fez, new short pistol, new female hairs. Thanks for this great review! I hadn´t laughed so much for a long, long time. I never thought, that I will some day somewhere read a review for a kitchen scale Frankly speaking, you have my deep respect, as if I had school task like this, to write down a kitchen scale review for few pages, I had for sure became at least 3-4 (for USA residents - similar to US rating C-D).

I am not a fan of those micro scaled sets, as in my eyes, set must have at least minifig to be attractive . Going to build 4899, have some bags on stock, and not build until now, my shame
