  1. V-LF-10D to V-LF-11D Hello everybody! This one goes out to the fans of the red cars! As requested by lightningtiger and already mentioned by ER0L I want to take the chance to introduce you the Farnheim Fire Department (in German it called the "Berufsfeuerwehr Farnheim") reffered to a typical german professional fire brigade. My fictional fire department takes care of nearly 584.000 inhabitants, a huge harbor, shipyards, a naval seaport and an inter'l airport with its several massive high exposures. You can also take a look on the history of the FFD here. Of course, there's not also a fire department for the citystreets, but also a professional airport and few plant fire brigades. This and the following posts will show you some of the cars of the "FFD". The airport fire department and a closer look to a plant fire brigade will follow later. If you're wondering about the photos' scale, I have to say, they are so smaller, because they much older. The MOCs occured between 2009 and 2010. The newer cars and trucks got some addition with yellow stripings, which immitates the reflective film which is used for better visiblity in the dark. As you can see here: Now let's start with some smaller vehicles: This is the car of the chief officer. He is alerted, when bigger incidents happen. A little truck for daily transportations between the different fire stations throughout the municipal area. This truck is a typical 4WD-MPV that can pull different sorts of trailers. Any kind of equipment can be carried to the emergency scenes. This truck is part of the logistics group of the fire department. Part of special operations within the "FFD" is the sand spreader to remove different kind of liquids from the surface. Standard rapid response unit (RRU) that carries some emergency medical equipment and a doctor. Emergency ambulance. The cars of the emergency rescue services are painted in a different color scheme for a better perception for the other road users. So, this is the end of part one. I hope, you liked it. More to come! Stay tuned! Farnheim
  2. Wow, that's enormous! What an eyecatching layout. That would be a lifetime-project, I guess! Not because of the time, but of the money... That would be fantastic to see one of these segments made of real bricks one day. Well, my favorites are 6 a,b and 7.
  3. Awesome, simply awesome! What a big city! The level of detail you've put into it is simply amazing. There are so many different little sceneries to detect. Great job!
  4. Pretty cool, that you kept the design simple. That looks great. So, there are not even more stickers necessary. If I saw your advertising elements, I just thought on something like this: advertising panel - A long panel which goes over the whole storefront at the same height. Never mind, if it doesn't work or fit (in case of the different heights of the garade door and the windows). I guess, it could be difficult to realize it. It was just a thought... Advertise on, "lightningtiger" . Farnheim
  5. Thanks everybody for the kind comments. I really appreciate it. Here comes just a glimpse of some of the cars shown in the pictures. The tourbus of a (still) unknown rockband "The incredible Studs": They played an open air gig at the local 2011 "City Heat-Festival". The street sweeper/vacuum tanker: The urban bus: The "Yellow Cab": The post delivery truck: Once again: Thank you very much!
  6. Great looking station! I love the bricklook you've added to it!
  7. Very nice building with lots of details. I like the clean color combo with the combination of the blue tinted windows. Just a thought: what if the advertising banners would go over the complete front of the buidling? Keep up the great work! Farnheim
  8. Layout Hello Lego-enthuasiats, I was asked by a few members, if I could present photos of my little town. Well, sure, but this is (at this time) nothing but a streetscene. And I guess nothing really spectacular. But here are a few pictures of it, and of the future plans. First I should explain the story behind my project in a few lines. The scene shows a typical streetlife of my fictional town called "Farnheim". The towns name is getting back into the mid 80s, when I enjoyed making models in 1/87 scale. Since I have retired from this hobby and restarted building with Lego I have reactivated this little microcosm and transferred it into the brick-age. The street, where it all take place is called "An der Ufertraverse". If you understand german language, you can read the whole towns history here. Here's a detail of the (fictional) citymap I've made a while back. You can find the "Ufertraverse" on the west coast on the central downtown island. Sorry for the largeness, but that pic is unfortunately 1024x768 pxl... The following pictures show what I have built so far. January 2011: March 2011: August 2011: Future plans: This part shall be append to the scenery shown above. It also shall get a historic town gate, a MOC-petshop, some other commercial buidlings, a fire or police station, a small supermarket and much more. I don't have a plan for it. It's just on my mind... So, we will, what's really going to be realized. I hope you like it. C&C are welcome as usual. Thanks for risking a view...
  9. Here are some pics of a radar trap I've made a while back: And a modified traffic light, which is based on the regular ones from TLC: With a traffic sign add-on: A simple charging station for EVs: A little area for recreation and a different street light:
  10. Welcome "4xMore" to EB and enjoy your stay here! Really nice looking truck and of course the recognition value of this Scania truck is high. Not easy in 4wide. I like the details you've put the MOC, especially the different use of the axe as a mirror holder. What a clever idea. I like the typical european look of that trailer truck and the red stripes on the side. Hope that we'll see more of your creations in the future. Keep going!
  11. Nice looking trailer with an excellenent level of detail. The coffee machine is really cool!
  12. Maybe you could stretch the roof and add a rear window instead of the loading bed.
  13. This is both: beautiful and amazing! The colorscheme matches perfectly. And I have the impression, that it looks much more modern than it truly is. The colors you used reminds me a bit on this one. Keep up the great work!
  14. A beautiful street scene "lightningtiger". I like the level of details, e.g. the stuff in the store windows. As far as I can see, it has got everything it needs... Keep up the good work! Streetscene on... Farnheim
  15. V-LV-63E Here's another one that I have built a while back. Don't know if somebody noticed it in a posting somewhere, so here it is in full detail. Since I got an exemplar of the #1656 (Evac Team) I wanted to create a civilian version of it. So I started building that truck in a yellow/lightgrey scheme which transports a brandnew red truck to a body manufacturer to complete it. I put on some extra details and shorten the cabin roof a bit to get a different look. Hope I succeeded? Judge yourself... So, here it is - the flat bed truck: I know, the red truck stands in the wrong way, but in this direction it fits much better on the flat bed. Thanks for taking a closer look! Regards, Farnheim
  16. Thank you all for the kind comments. I really appreciate it. @ redhead: Yep, I used those old wheels for that, which I predominantly put on my MOCs. @ lightning tiger: Well, I have one. But not with a trailer. It's a little fuel oil tank truck:
  17. Hello everyone, today I want to show you a creation I did a while back. Inspired by this set back in 2008, I wanted to recreate a more classical 4-wide one. But not one with a box body but rather with a canvas cover. Hope you like it. Thanks for risking a look and of course for comments... Cheers, Farnheim
  18. It looks so simple and plain, but it is so great. A wonderful single-family-home. The buildings color scheme fits very well and this high detailed interieur - especially the Lego room - is really cool.
  19. Cool looking and well designed complex. I like this self-contained area. But the copcar-pickups look a bit strange to me. From where I come from, our police drives mostly station wagons.
  20. Very nice building. I like the detailed and stylish looking interieur.
  21. This is an awesome creation. The cracks and the level of detail are both amazing and realistic. Love that sense of humor you've put to the scene.
  22. Wow, that'a a huge ladder. Great job on the truck. I like the detailed front end. Ours (e.g. in germany) are a bit more compact: Typical 32 Meter ladder shown here with a fictional front end. Farnheim
  23. Awesome MOC. That's pretty accurate. But one little thing, you swapped the flashlights in the grille.
  24. Wow, this is amazing! Awesome job on that unique truck with all the different angles... How did you do those rungs underneath the cabin. I can see two antennas holding a...? Did you shorten and cut a hose at both ends for it? I agree with JackJonespaw, the color matches perfectly! Farnheim
  25. Great Building and areal. Very authentic. I like it a lot, especially the little details like the sign at the streetside. Can't wait for the grand opening. Keep up the great work! Farnheim
