Honestly, I kinda miss the buildings from the first wave of Ninjago. The vehicles are nice, but they're getting a tad monotonous and I kinda miss ninja stuff. Glad to see that dragon temple in the line, but it's probably gonna be way out of my price range :(

Thanks for the info/informed guesswork. And yeah, I can't imagine these things not selling well. Fun animal plus great minifig for a low price. The ones I'd really like to see are rhino and raven.

This the full range of the upcoming sets, or is there a chance we'll get some legend animals as well? I loved those sets =D

Also, it's just insulting children only use story themes to fit the story universe. Most of the kids I know who play with lego have no interest whatsoever and just want some fun with ninjas. On an on-topic side note, I think the new wave is going to severely disappoint that group of kids.

Maybe they could bring back one of the enemies from a discontinued series, like the crystal monsters from rock miners or the atlanteans. The latter would probably fit best with the whole "mythical golden weapon in ancient ruin" thing.

But they can't really be called pirates if they pilot anything other than boats, can they? That really limits the viability of such a wave.

This set looks absolutely great. The minifig looks absolutely great awesome and I love the snake-staff. You know, if you replace the bley tiles with tan ones, I think the structure would fit perfectly in the pharao's quest theme.

There are still a couple of famous dinosaur-era reptiles unused. Ichtyosaurus, plesosaurus, archeopteryx, spinosaurus, diplodocus, ankylosaurus, iguanadon, dimetrodon, Parasaurolophus and archelon all have easily recognizable designs and I can see a few of them easily appealing to kids. Allosaurus is a bit like a t-rex, but kids love that design anyway. Concidering the first wave was only seven sets and five dinosaurs, it shouldn't be that hard to create a second series. A semi-large aquatic base set, with ichtyosaurus, plesosaurus and/or archelon. A smaller set, with just a sub and one of the aquatic animals. A small jungle set, maybe even an impulse, with archeopteryx. A small long-range net thrower and any small dinosaur. A large outpost on poles that holds some smaller dinos and is under attack by an allosaurus. A small tree outpost, with a captured archeopteryx and under attack by a velociraptor. A large helicopter base that is hunting a spinosaurus. Just some random ideas. Anyway, the point is that there is easily enough material for a second wave, so it was probably a conscious decision to rotate the theme out instead.

Not really a fan of the whole spinning or cards. Despite that, it's still my second favorite theme of the past few years(after Atlantis), simply because the designs are so damn good. I doubt the next wave will be pirates, simply because the ninja's enemies always seem to have techy vehicles. The pirates are neither. Most generic monsters are taken by the new monster fighters theme, otherwise I would have liked to see vampires. Maybe some other animal people, like half-scorpions or half-tigers, are next.

Browsing through the review index, I saw I had a few of the sets that I bought as a kid that weren't reviewed yet (though none of them are still in one piece). With a little luck, I might be able to find the parts for the 4807 fire attack and 4819 rebel attack as well. Any hints or tips would be appreciated. Name: Defense Archer Theme: LEGO System / Castle / Knights' Kingdom Pieces: 15 Minifigs: 1 Year of Release: 2000 The set was released three times in one year under different numbers(Would that make this a triple review?). The first was 1287, where it was a promotional set, 4801 was the boxed version, and 4811 was the polybagged version. Random page. Each step adds only 1 or 2 bricks, but they needed to fill 2 entire pages with only 15 bricks, so they needed to stretch it out. Complete parts assortment. I don't really know what parts are rare, but 4x4 turntables are always handy. The (slightly worn) minifig. According to set 1287, his name is Richard the Strong, while the other sets have his as a generic archer. He doesn't have any backprinting, but he does have some fairly decent leg printing. I think a red belt would have been more appropriate though. His hair has always reminded me of curtains, but luckily, it's covered by the helmet. Richard in full battle-gear. Nothing special really. Full set Full set with archer Like most impulse sets, it doesn't have any enemies or targets, so there is no real playability on it's own. It's a nice addition to large battles though, and if you remove the green plates it can easily be integrated into a larger castle. Any hints/tips if I decide to review the other two?
