  1. Diagon Alley or Grand Emporium Choices, choices... I think the figs in DA are tons better than GE, but GE has some awful useful-looking pieces. Help me out here, mates!
  2. Took the survey. Quite interesting. I, of course, said I was not at all inspired by other people's MOCs. Hahaha. Just kidding! I gave them my two online ID's, but I wonder how they'll "contact" me without e-mail. Ah, well, we shall see.
  3. I voted for both. It really isn't fair to compare one wave against about twenty years, and I genuinely love both PotC and LEGO PotC; QAR is one of the most mind-bendingly glorious sets in my collection, and I'm fine with fleshies in licensed sets. Even my family, which usually chuckles about my obsession, thought it was extremely nice. People always complain there weren't enough soldiers; at least they had printed hats and two new torsos. (including royal version of Barbossa)
  4. Very, very nice. I like how you used the CMF spears. Any chance you'll make these decals available. Nice avatar, by the way.
  5. Helm's Deep. If you have enough bricks for this, this'll be flap-jackin' awesome. Likin' the windows! I shall have to make something "similar."
  6. I would order ten. The pieces in it are... well, astounding, to say the least. It's probably the best deal price-wise to come from LEGO in decades, if ever, considering the drastic improving of quality since the 70's-80's and adjusting for inflation. I only wish the horse came with a saddle. That's the only thing I see that's lacking. Other than that: perfect.
  7. Medieval Market Village 10193. I'm gonna make some pirate and castle MOCs with it, then a Steampunk town. Oh, and I ordered the semi-rare Batman polybag jetski with it. For some reason, I'm not as excited about it as MMV. Oh, and 11 CMF's, including 3 Grenadier Guards.
  8. Thanks for the constructive criticism. I know how to make them look better, but I have trouble making them look better with my pieces. Any tips are appreciated. Greenhair's tutorial enabled me to make realistically bowed sides, so I'm a fast learner. The interior was great fun! There is one place where you can lift out the deck and put prisoners and cargo in, but it is so difficult to do that I didn't bother for the pictures.
  9. Very nice. We seem to have a lot of alcohol-related MOCs lately. I like the detail here, particularly the part of the floor/roof that's fallen into the sea, but I'm especially amazed you can turn it upside down.
  10. Thanks, Hikaro! (for those who don't know, me and Hikaro and I are good friends and co-authors on BrickForge.com) I wonder if they ever did think about making it a faction, and then it didn't test well with young kids, so they introduced Islanders instead, kind of like how LEGO Europa became Pirates...
  11. Thank you. This is my first ship with more than two midesections, so I appreciate it. @You and Croissant: Woops, thought it autoresizes. Hmmm... Hold on just a sec... EDIT: Badda-bing, we're good to go! @Croissant: Darn, I thought it would be public now.
  12. *looks carefully, trying to spot evidence of Photoshop* *dies when he realizes it's real* Amazing, sir! I can't imagine how challenging this is.
  13. Has bought both QAR and MMV! :D

  14. [pid][/pid] 129A From the LEGO Pirate Chronicles, my story here that was frontpaged a while back. And by the way, I'm going to continue it! Life got in the way, but I have time now. This is my triumphal return! Full Gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=501950 Look, guys, I know this may be stink compared to stuff you guys churn out in the period of a half-hour,but I only have 20k bricks, so I have to make sacrifices in design. I read and reread Greenhair's tutorial a thousand times making it. Helped beyond words. One thing I think you'll like is the hand-drawn sails and flags and painted the sea. One question: After you subscribe to a thread, where do you go to see new replies?
  15. Oh, God Zeus, no. That IMDB list has me freaking out. Add organ music and the wilhelm scream and that would wrap up what I thought looking at that.
  16. Sorry guys, I've had nothing but computer problems the past two months. I'm gonna try to borrow my father's computer tomorrow to write a new chapter and upload all the photos I took, including the Artesano ship, my biggest ship ever. I can't even turn my computer on. Sorry guys.
  17. I agree, except for pirates, it certainly does. Although, I was looking forward to purchasing a CMF Space Marine. I wonder how everyone and I would feel about the armor being mass produced... Difficult to say.
  18. I've never been a huge Ninjago fan, and am more of a LEGO traditionalist, but just dropping traditional Ninja and going full-out sci-fi with it would suit it much better. And c'mon, guys, stop typing huge long responses to Steve; that'll just make him reply more.
  19. 10%, if that. The winner is castle, at about 18%, followed by Pirates, at the 10%, followed by Adventurers at about 9%, and yet I've spent hundreds of dollars on my pirates. Good heavens I've spent waaaayyyyy too much.
  20. Hope you're not offended, chap, but we at the Lego company have decided not to make a Beckett minifigure; it's just good business. *painful laughter* Murtogg and Mullroy are hilarious. "Maybe it was th' fish people?" Would definitely love to have their figs.
  21. I think Hive was saying here's no chance for that decent N VS P theme you described when Ninjago is this popular, i.e. they won't replace Ninjago with a more realistic theme anytime soon. As much as I hate the sound of that, I agree.
  22. Aye, I'd me revolted if Beckett wasn't in any sets; he's the main bad guy in two out of four movies!
  23. @Ardelon: A Disney mythology theme? Now you're on to something. Still, I think it'd be too cartoony. A knock-off of Walt's Hercules might be okay, but it also has the potential for being a disaster like Knight's Kingdom II. I, too, followed Orient Expedition and was disappointed there was no diving subtheme. I also missed out on the CMF diver, as my stores didn't get that wave. My Super Walmart only started carrying them in October... Huh, I find it hilarious I suggested a Victorian Arctic theme yesterday; today I scored the CMF Eskimo. If they made a whole theme...
  24. I think it's too mismatched to look good. Interesting design, though. It'd look neat alongside the old Statue of Liberty with City set. Maybe a BP license theme? Oil rigs, rescue ships, the BP CEO's yacht...
