  1. Excellent! I look forward to the completion of this amazing, spectacular ship. You may want to shrink the figure a tiny bit, if you can. It's a wee bit, uh, 'huge'
  2. You have a great signature! Not unlike mine, in the fact that it's a quote from POTC. Nice lego avatar to go with it!

  3. Do you think you will add sails when you build her? It'd give it an amazing, proud air if you saw her on a table, all sails bent against the non-existent wind. For the lower decks, you should add some hammocks made from nets. They'd look pretty funny with a bunch of minifigs lying in them.
  4. Well done Yawgmoth! Really well done! I cannot wait to see if you can manage this in a real life build!
  5. After I perfect it and actually get my camera working :-)

  6. Ha ha! I've managed to give my QAR a second deck. Now, there's a gun deck and a main deck! Unfortunately, the space below is not enough for a minifig to stand in, but hey, it looks better! Of course, your one looks more awesome tenfold XD

  7. About the lak of stairs/ladders Do any of you ever consider modifying your sets? Just add a ladder. For heaven's sake, I'm trying to figure out a way to give my QAR a second deck without ripping apart the cabin or having to make it taller.
  8. Take out the two cannons just in front of the stairs, the ones whose firing hold-thingy go through the railing to the entrance into the hold, they take up too much space. Is there a way to get your hand into the captain's cabin? Lift off the roof or something?
  9. I follow your progress eagerly, Shipbuilder Yawgmoth. Do not disappoint me LOL Mainmast looks nice, extra cannons are good too, seeing as when Blackbeard first got QAR, he was unhappy with its complement of 26 cannons, and upgraded it to 40 cannons.
  10. Swivel guns take too much space, as I've learned before. You're better off putting a couple buckets around, and maybe setting some brooms around the place. Also, more rope! Ships had miles of rope on 'em. Lanterns too. For whatever reason, Blackbeard was crazy about light, evidence can be seen with the amount of flame, otherwise a dangerous thing to put on a wooden ship, that is everywhere. Even on the bow railing and the cup in the figurehead's hand!
  11. Dang it. I planned to get more sets from POTC. Whitecap Bay looks great on my bookshelf, and QAR is dominating a marble countertop.
  12. Wow....purely amazing. @ Yawgmoth. The lanterns on the back of the poopdeck, just before the stern lantern, have rings on their base, where the black skeleton arms are grabbing on to. Alternatively, take a look at the wheel from this MOC; www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=64390
  13. @ Foremast Jack I agree. What is the problem? Oh, great name, Jack
  14. Yawgmoth, the thing I've noticed with adding a double ship's wheel is that the wheels are to far apart. What I suggest is using the kind of ring thing (the piece can be seen on the rearmost lanterns on the poop deck, on the base off the lanterns), and attaching hands, as in, minifig hands, around the rim, and have two of those. I saw that used in a MOC that I recently observed.
  15. That set is very interesting. It appears to be old due to the lack of certain pieces, but when you look at the wood and the minifigs, i.e Norrington (i see a minifig in the water that looks like Admiral Norrington for POTC), you get the impression that it's recent. The ship's wheel is more creative than a normal wheel, or a double wheel, and the water looks great.
  16. By Sea and Sky that thing is so big it's unholy. I love it! BTW, what LDD are you using? Could you send me a link to somewhere where I could get it? Nice bow railing, the skeletons are a great touch. The lanterns on the poop deck are only slightly smaller than the stern lantern on the official QAR. I see you've also noticed just how big the stern lantern is suppost to be. That is, not very big. Great work! BTW, how do you get to the captain's cabin? Or can you not?
  17. I'd love to see your work. You're buying another QAR? If only I could devote money solely to LEGO ships. But I don't see why you couldn't post it, and it would most likely go into the MOC section.
  18. @Napoleon I agree. Another interesting set would be Shipwreck Cove, as a mini, or the debating room thingy in Shipwreck Cove. In that set, they could put tiny little ships on the table/map, the likes of which are used for planning battles. Some interesting minifigs could go with that set too, i.e Gentleman Jocard, Hector Barbossa, Mistress Chang, etc.
  19. My favorite/s are from POTC, and they are; Scrum, Jack Sparrow, and Blackbeard as my all-time favorite.
  20. @Yawgmoth Tis but the mere official LEGO set with some of my own tweaks to the captain's cabin. The problem is that I don't have any hull pieces, deep red pieces or some other parts, to make a bigger QAR. So depressing...
  21. @Napoleon mmm. Beauty doth come at a hefty price. So much time and so much money. But the designs are sound, LEGO should've consulted with Yawgmoth before releasing QAR. My QAR set looks rather pitiful compared to what Yawgmoth is working on. Keep up the amazing work, Yawgmoth!
  22. She's marvelous! Perhaps you might want to tone down on the amount of red on the roofing, but she's looking amazing! Downside; this thing will take ages to build if you get the pieces
  23. 1; It's called Greek Fire 2; it's range is only just inside bow cannon range, and the flagship, if i'm correct, has no bow cannons, so the QAR may as well approach from the front, give no quarter and roast the flagship and its crew like steak on a barbecue.
  24. @Napoleon53 I believe he is including that sail. Couldn't be the QAR without, really. @Yawgmoth, please make "my" desk cluttered, give "me" a bookshelf, and a nice view off the stern. In other words, include pre-mentioned things in captain's cabin.
  25. @Yawgmoth Wow! Good thinking on actually staying to historical records and adding triangular sails between the masts and a square sail at the bowsprit. LEGO never really checks that much on design... Also, the names of the masts are as follows; The angled, short mast at the VERY front is the bowsprit the first real mast is the foremast the middle mast is the main-mast the rear mast is the mizzen mast, Just a nautical tip! Oh, where are you going to get the sails? Are you going to order QAR sails, or make them from cloth...what? And a bit of history on the real QAR; Made in England, called the Concorde, then was stolen by the french and named La Concorde de Nantes, then one of Blackbeard's previous captains (when Blackbeard was a mere pirate sailor) stole the ship off the French and gave it to Blackbeard, who named it Queen Anne's Revenge
