Fabuland Builders Guild - Discussion Thread
WhiteFang replied to Shadows's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thanks Will post the first alternate set of 3683 very soon! -
Totally agreed with your pictures above. I used to own the sets below, but during my childhood most of it are missing and taken apart. This is another version of the caravan. You can see that within the caravan. There are small details incorporate in it and it is able to sit in 2 mini-figs in the rear cabin. Most importantly, it is 4-studs wide! Let me do a comparison on the following. Below is a 1987 Fire Chief's Truck. It is able to sit in a mini-fig perfectly. The equipments can be placed into the rear compartment. The rear is able to open and close, to create realistic features. In addition, the driver seat which have the top frame can be opened with its hinge without taking out the whole frame. Lastly, it's a 4-studs car wide filled with nice and realistic details too. On the other hand, the Fire Car, in the recent Fire Station set ressembles the new range of 4-studs car wide. Yes, it is able to fit into the road. However, it will not be able to open the top frame. You will have to take out the top frame. The equipments is placed outside of the car which I find it not tidy at all. I am not trying to be critic over these sets. Both have its pros and cons. This are some of my thoughts regarding the making of these cars. Maybe, I have drifted a fair bit from this topic. Just sharing my views, that's all

For me, I always fancy and love 4-stud cars. It can fit my old city sets very well and of course the road plates too. The recent new cars in City is big and no doors. The smaller sets which are released recently are the postal van and doctor's car which are 4 studs wide. Batmobile and Speed Racer is really too big. They have the details and nice. But they will never be able to enter into my Shell station to pump their fuel. Unless, TLC proposed a wider roadway for these big babies. Otherwise, they will be likely to hog the road on both side I still miss the old 4-stud cars very much. 6-stud cars is fine, as long it's not a giant and filled with doors and details

Brickster, thanks for creating this interesting topic. I am sure for most AFOL whom collect LEGO, will defintely remember this almost forgotten asset. svelte_corps For me, I grew up with the same idea book that you have. One thing for sure, this idea book gives you great inspiration and ideas which you never thought is possible especially when you are browsing through the book as a child. Trust me, this book gives you the urge to do the alternate creations that 80's sets can offer. Although, detailed steps and instruction manuals are not included in this book, but the artwork that is published makes you love LEGO more. It gives unlimited possibilites of what excellent creations that LEGO can offer. The Castle was indeed my favourite. You can see a big picture of layout of Castle, Space, Town and etc. It makes your eyes stare wide open. Why is that so? Firstly, as a child you love to imagine and dream. Secondly, in those days, there is nothing like Internet which have Brickshelf and LUGNET that provide MOC references. Thirdly, when you view those massive pictures, it makes you have the desire to own the whole LEGO range. I wonder how did I ever own this book. I did not ask my parents, thought it was some free gift. Glad when I am much older, I know the true value of LEGO.

This is indeed a tough selection. Every entries is crafted with fanastic creativity. After some thoughts, I decided to vote for Graynar's entry. I wonder who voted for me?

Fabuland Builders Guild - Discussion Thread
WhiteFang replied to Shadows's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Will like to ask the Fabuland Guild about submitting Fabuland creations. I am sure all Fabuland builders are aware of the box art showing alternate models that the current set can do. Because I am thinking of using my 3683 Amusement Park to create different alternate sets. Am I allowed to do the following? If its too simple, I understand the concern. -
Welcome to Eurobricks!! I am sure you will find this community lively and fun loving. See your around
-
Welcome to Eurobricks! Wow, you have so many theme to collect That is so great!
-
Hehe , let me help you on this, Lord Calvin Kestrel I believed you have this mini-fig. Because, I remember seeing it in your Cafe Corner rampage!
-
Man, I really envy you guys, able to buy parts and brick through "pick-a-brick". My country does not come under Shop@home
-
I have some plant #3, lying around in my storage kit. Maybe, I am able to find extra pieces. I used most of it in my recent Castle MOC. p.s: My green samples is in the MOC link below. Hehe, I am being shameless to promote my own set.

It's ok. I am giving some suggestions. Siloux's plot and background will still be determined by you. I will try my best to blend it in with Diana's sub plot too. Who knows, it might turns out well I must agreed with Shadows that doing 3 or 4 plots at one go can be quite messy. Haha
-
Guys, thanks for your nice comments. I will promise to work hard and improve on it better by giving the best. All suggestions will be considered. The red-looking guy is not a necromancer class. He acts like an Imperial Guards like those in Star Wars whom is in red cloak protecting the Emperor. I made use of the torso and cap to create the following. He is like a much higher level soldier.

To all admins, I appaulde and thanks for your efforts in organising and putting together the Castle Month. The EBRP is certainly a fun way to put your imaginative thoughts together and get it into a story. The new Castle banner is very nice looking too. The contests are fun and I can't wait for the polls to be ready too. Thanks Hinckley! For now, we remembered this great Castle Month and looked forward to another new theme month.

Brickster, your jungle is growing and growing. It suits all Indiana Jones theme sets very well. Guess, you left the 7628, the big airplane which Indiana Jones is captured. Think you will need to build in an air-strip to accomodate it. Maybe, you can place it near the millitary vehicles since the space there is much wider or beside the depot. The temple on the river bank is nice. I must agreed that without stickers on the set looks abit much plain. However, the set looks massive in this jungle. Maybe, you can add some greens or trees to cover the plain look and make it a little hidden. As a whole I love the way you build your jungle and evolved it into such a massive scale. I do not have such space to contain such huge sets. There are many things, I can learn from you and improve upon mine. Hope one day, it can be as good as yours.

Lord Calvin and Karen have finally met up with Dragonator at last. Master Pent's writing is so messy (I supposed all wizards have messy handwriting I guess ) The letter content, which Lord Calvin handed to Dragonator is not seen by anyone. Apart from the number 1 agenda, which is to borrow a stone from you to aid in eliminating Black Wraith Demons. And, most importantly, he suggested Lord Calvin to be the formal representative of Black Knights Kingdom since most of the time, he is dealing with embassy related matters. However, Lord Calvin is not aware of this whole treaty and I believed Master Pent have a reason for not telling him so. Maybe, General Marcus is able to summarise shortly for him. At the Capital, Lord Kenneth, Lady Kristine and the injured boy (revert from Black Wraith Demon back to human) is heading to Majestic Tower to look for Master Pent. Diana and Siloux is now wandering around, looking at places of interest. At this time, I will suggest that Siloux will have decided its future direction. What do Siloux aspire to be in the long run? Or, does he have something hiding behind his backs? How does he obtained his blessed arrows and where does he learn the art of blessing? Let's us find out later in his journey.

Ravine tavern looks outstanding. I am sure Lord Calvin will believe that this is the largest tavern in Dragon Masters Kingdom Your MOC skills is excellent. There are many good details you have taken good care of the tavern such as the windows and the bridge. The design is unique and elegant too. The slopes and greens are done in a very creative and nice manner. The whole layout makes this MOC looks smooth and nice. Personally, I do not have much complains. It's certainly one of the best Castle layout I have seen. EBRP On!

Location: M10 (In Dromindur) Lord Calvin walked forward in a bustling bar and said “I am Lord Calvin of Red Valiant Commander from Black Knights Kingdom. And this is Karen, she is my Master Ranger. Karen nodded her head and remains silent. Lord Calvin added “I did not expect your noble presence to be in Dromindur. However, this will make things much easier. We need to speak in a less populated area. Perhaps, your room in this tavern will be much appropriate. There is something that Master Pent required me to hand it to you.” Location: L13 (Outskirt of Majestic Tower) White Fang army has finally arrived at the outskirt of Majestic Tower. The soldiers are tired and fatigue. Their injuries have not fully recovered. Lord Kenneth said to his soldiers “My soldiers, return to your loved ones and accompany them. It’s been a long time since you last saw them. We will mobilize later once the next orders are confirmed.” The soldiers showed a pleasing smile and thanks Lord Kenneth for giving them a chance to reunite with their family. Lady Kristine said with a smile “Brother, it seemed you have done something delighting for our archers instead of sending them back to our Fortress.” Lord Kenneth replied “In their eyes, they are thinking of their home. This is the minimum I can do for them. Black Wraith Demons have caused much harm to our Kingdom. And we must purge it soon.” Lord Kenneth looked behind and said “Princess Diana and Siloux, it seemed we must part here. I need to bring the injured boy to Master Pent.” Diana said “I will be around in this region wandering around with Siloux. I need to show him different places of interest in our Capital except Majestic Tower. We better get going now. Kenneth and Kristine, we will see each other very soon.” Both of them got into their horses, leaving the both behind. Kristine said “Guess its good bye for now.”

Hello fellow Eurobricks members again, Finally, after weeks of building and gathering key building elements. Castle Deep Forest Ambush MOC is almost complete. This is the final outcome of its first version earlier. This is the last day of Castle Month, guess I have made it in time. This time, the Deep Forest is completed base on 2 x green baseplate (32 x 32 studs). Another thing, do pardon me for using my Harry Potter castle as the backdrop. I did not have time to create a proper background. The earlier version was the entrance to the hidden forest of the Elven Kingdom. The Crown army is escorting treasure chest which contains a mystical powerful gem that protect the Elven forest. However, things are not as simple for our friends and his allies. There is something dark and sinister trailing them. Watch out everyone! Will the Dark Forces discover their hideout first? Or our brave Crown army is able to ambush them successfully? This is an overall picture of the Scenario. Undead army is marching in. The Skeleton Commander leading its patrol out of the forest. Crown army, Elves (Forestmen) and Dwarves is getting ready to ambush at their foes from all directions. Look, who is behind them? Before and After (The dwarf is able to activate the defence barrier hiding behind the trees) Waiting for the signal to activate the catapult defence. This is the treasure that the allies are protecting? Opps, this is the correct treasure. This is the center aerial view of the Deep Forest. Left aerial view. Right aerial view. Featured Main Mini-figures. Hope everyone enjoying viewing my latest update. Any feedback or comments are strongly welcomed. I will need all your suggestions to make this forest a better and improved one. I tried to place some defence mechanism into it to create more playability too. If there is any problem with it, please let me know so I am able to modify and make it much better. I do not have Elves archers with me. That's why I am using Forestmen to replace it for the time being. More images can be found in My Brickshelf (After moderation)

That sheep looks real neat I like the way our new adventurer running away from it!
-
Hi szww, That is a very nice contest, but I think you will need to check with the admins first.
-
The alt models looks more better than the orignal in my opnion. It looks more in-depth with precise details as a roaming tank in space. And i love the additonal crew behind backing the driver up, acting as a weapon specialist. In addition, the missiles mode is awesome!
-
Haha, somehow I feel that the "bear" is out of place! The yellow slope which you used as a cheese is smart, I never expect it to look so simple and direct.
-
Whung, the promo sets are awesome. I am supposed these are not sold as an impulse set like the rest. This new sets are very very nice addition to any city, especially the scrambler.

Fabuland Review, 3797 Fire Chief Boris Bulldog
WhiteFang replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Guys, thanks for your wonderful words. Glad you guys enjoyed this simple review. I must admit there are little details I can offer due to the design of this set. However, this set is really quite impressive in my opnion. Haha, the axe is supposed to save lives not to take lives or using it act as a weapon. Hehe, I am sure you don't see any other Fireman carrying an axe to clobber people. Hope this review provided some good insights to non-Fabuland collectors Are you referring to this lovely character? This cute lovely Fabuland citizen is called Freddy the Fox. He can be found in 3675 General Store and 3683 Fabuland Amusement Park There is another kind of Freddy the Fox too. Please refer to one of this useful website, provided by the index Fabuland
